This office is not properly staffed to accommodate the needs of the patient. This is a highly disorganized group of doctors within the Be Woman's Health Organization. They spend minutes with you to push you onto another doctor and do not respond timely to questions. Nurses admittedly state they are short-staffed when they call you back usually with the wrong information. I strongly suggest considering other options in the Frisco area. (Maybe less Podcasts & more medical professionalism with actual patients). read more

Women's Health and Wellness has gone above and beyond to be sure that my complete health and wellness have been made first priority. They are extremely knowledgable and personable. I chose this practice for my first pregnancy. It was a nightmare. If you try to schedule an appointment you have to try calling the office many times just for an appointment!!! The receptionists have no idea how billing and insurance work. Make sure you are triple checking the charges. You are going to be paying for a ob/gyn even though you will never see this person. If you have a question, a symptom, or anything. There is no way of contacting the midwife or anyone. You have to go online submit a form wait for the on call nurse to get to you and hopefully they will call you and of course this call has a charge. I got so many weird things like SUA, SPD and many other complications. If you think you can do this alone and you are ok with this then this is a good option. I would never recommend this place for prenatal care so if you can stay away please find something else! read more

It's taken me since September of 2021 to be ready to revisit my horrible experience here and to feel comfortable sharing with the people of yelp. My hope by sharing this will be that people will either makes changes here internally or that a future patient will read this review and find another clinic. First and foremost lakeisha marks is awesome and if she didn't work here I would still continue to see her. I had a fertility consult scheduled only to find out the day before I was pregnant which was so exciting but equally terrifying as I have had miscarriages in the past. I came in had an ultrasound and was dated to be 5 weeks 5 days I shared the news with Dr. Bartos and expressed my concerns over my low progesterone levels pre and during pregnancy and she told me I was fine and really brushed off my concerns told me congrats and sent me on my way. A few days later I started having really painful cramps in my lower back and went to the bathroom and had some blood obviously this freaked me out and I called their after hours line and spoke with a nurse who assured me sometimes this can be normal but if the bleeding or pain becomes worse to go to emergency but in the mean time she scheduled me for an appointment that Monday for an ultrasound to check on the baby. I took off work and arrived at my appointment that was with their midwife Amber she made me feel horrible for coming in essentially saying cramping and spotting can be normal in pregnancy and not to be worried and that they wouldn't be performing an a ultrasound today as they didn't have time. I expressed my concerns bawling my eyes out and that the entire reason for me coming in was to check on the baby and with no empathy told me they didn't have time and she would have them do labs. I asked her if I needed a rhogam shot because I'm rh- and she said yes she would have them give it to to me and would send in the person to do my labs. I asked her if she could send me labs to quest because that's where I'm covered for labs and she berated me on the fact that they take such a long time to get results back from them and then left the room I could hear her in the hallway talking about what kind of insurance only allows labs to be done at quest ? Then saying that they needed to order a blood type test because she didn't believe me that I knew my own blood type. I'm already emotional my husband wasn't allowed in with me not even to wait in the waiting room I don't know if I'm having a miscarriage she had no empathy for me wouldn't do what the appointment was scheduled for I took off work paid a 50.00 copay only to be treated like complete garbage and talked about in the hallway like I'm some second class citizen. I came out to the car because my husband wasn't allowed in and fell apart my husband instantly drove me to buy buy baby to look at baby stuff to try and cheer me up and get me excited about the possibility of us being parents. Their negligence and lack of concern for me or my baby led me to having to wait 2 more weeks on pins and needles dying inside wondering if my baby is ok to get into see someone new so I was 8.5 weeks at this time only to find out there was no heartbeat and my hcg was still increasing so I was having a missed miscarriage. I can't help but feel like if my progesterone levels had been addressed and if amber had actually did her job and be women's health actually gave me that ultrasound at my appointment I wouldn't have had to go through weeks of suffering and anxiety wondering. They could have ordered labs by phone for me and saved me taking off work and paying a copay just to be treated horribly and not get the ultrasound that I literally scheduled the appointment for. If you care about yourself and your future child don't come here. All they care about is money. Also I just want to add I called their clinic in October once I had fully Gone through my miscarriage and said I wanted to speak with someone about my experience they told me there was nobody available but they would have someone call me , I never received a call so I emailed them to tell them about my experience and how much it affected me and got no response. They also submitted not one but two fraudulent claims to my insurance the first one being on 9-7-21 they said they performed an ultrasound when they did not because they refused to and said they had no time at my appointment that was scheduled as an ultrasound appointment and then again a fraudulent claim on 11-15-21 saying I came in for an appointment and I did not! read more

I got this place through my insurance and I went in for an appointment to get quotes for a surgery I need. My appointment was on the 18th and today is the 30th and still no quotes!! They claim they called me one time only and the person who is supposed to call me seems to be busy every single time I call the office during the past 2 weeks( I've been calling them once a day every day to remind them that am still waiting)!!! The only think good about Be. Women's clinic in Frisco is the NP, LaKeisha Marks. Everything else is really annoying. You have to make an appointment FOR EVERYTHING. Need a refill? Appointment that's a week or two out. Need to talk to the doctor about your mental health after just seeing the doctor a week ago? Appointment. Need anything? Appointment. Nothing can be done without an in person appointment. They also deal with pregnant people, but I Am NOT pregnant and got called back and got commented on "my cute little belly". The receptionists are not friendly and make me actively want to leave as soon as possible. I will be switching to someone else. I wish Ms. Marks was elsewhere because I would follow her to another clinic. My mom has had similar experiences. I've never had a medical location be "annoying", but this one definitely is. read more

I've been a patient for about 5 years and now that my provider is no longer there, I can attest to the horrid things that go on in this office. The front desk staff turnover is unimaginable, none of them never know what's going on. If I have an appointment with Mary, they will move me to some other provider's schedule without telling me until I am being brought back to a room. I finally complained to the manager who then told me that Dr. Bartos decides what provider the patient will see. What!!! If I'm a patient of Mary's and I make an appointment with MARY, why would you assume that I'm okay getting medical care from someone who doesn't know my health history? That is completely disrespectful and condescending. I'm CHOOSING to be a patient here, you don't get to MANDATE the provider I see--especially without informing me until I make the 50 minute drive. If you call in and someone answers the phone within 20 minutes, consider yourself lucky. They have billed my insurance fraudulently twice and then gave me the runaround for so long, I had to file a complaint with my insurance provider before they would listen to me. You can overhear conversations in the hallways. So when a staff member is openly talking about GRAPHIC details of her *intimate* time with her spouse, I get a little perturbed. It's also very disheartening to overhear the doctor discussing patient info in the hallway around all of the other patient rooms. They jokingly mock patients and everyone laughs like it's just awesome. I called to make an appointment with Mary and was told that Mary had retired. I've seen Mary for 12 years and found it hard to believe that she had retired without giving me notice, especially since I had just seen her a few weeks before. After doing some hefty internet investigating, low and behold, Mary didn't retired, she left their CRAPPY office and joined Katie and Casey in the Crossroads location as a new office. Steer Clear. Update: My IUD was removed in late August via hysteroscopy and had to be cut out of me. I bled for two weeks after removal and now have a hunk of scar tissue inside of my uterus that causes a lot of pain. A representative from Bartos' office has reached out to me and I appreciate this effort, though not much can be done now. I simply request that all nurses on their help line take IUD concerns very seriously and that Bartos checks placement of an IUD via ultrasound. 40%+ of women are retroflexed or retroverted. This number is too high to be blindly placing IUDs. Thanks for reading. read more

I started seeing Dr Bartos and Ashley for my PCOS and they have found a way to really help me that other providers were not willing or able to do. I have even been put on medication that has helped me loose 35 lbs! My relationship with Dr. Bartos has outlasted any other relationship I've had! She knows my female parts better than anyone else! She is the best and has the greatest bedside manner. She makes you feel comfy right off the bat and answers all your questions. I love her office and her podcast! LaKisha Marks, the NP, takes care of all my other medical needs and my daughter's as well. LaKisha takes her time to listen and really cares about how you are feeling. She takes her time with her patients and is never in a rush. Ashley, the other NP is kind and caring, she has cared for my daughter as well and we have nothing but great things to say about her. A friend saw dr Bartos and loved her so I went there for my first pregnancy. Went for my first appointment with an NP where I was told that I miscarried. Not far into the pregnancy but devastating all the same. They prescribed me meds that would help my body finish out the miscarriage naturally. A D&C was never mentioned as an option. My first pregnancy, my first miscarriage and they told me to wear a pad to bed and expect bleeding. They failed to tell me how much there would be which resulted in me and my husband waking in a complete nightmare with a bed full of blood. I then had to live through the physical trauma that comes with a miscarriage. I went in for an appointment to see if the meds got everything out. It didn't. They doubled my dosage. Still no mention of a d&c as an option. I have to live through the emotional and physical trauma again. Go back in for another check in to see if the meds did their job. Nope. They didn't. Finally they bring up a D&C. It's been 3 weeks at this point. I make it abundantly clear that this has been enough grief and trauma for me and that I do not want to be awake for the procedure. They assure me a number of times that I will be sedated even if I cannot be under anesthesia. I am even told about 5 different times to bring someone to drive me home because I won't be able to drive myself. My husband and I arrive the day of the procedure. They took hours to get me to the back. I'm crying because I am still in grief. We finally get to the back room and wait another hour. I am still upset of course. Then Dr Bartos dances into the room. Literally dances and starts cracking jokes in a cheery tone. ("Ok fine, I think, you have a lot of patients. You may not know that I'm upset or have your rooms mixed up." I don't say anything.) this is the first I have ever met her thus far. She looks up and realizes I am red faced and in tears and exclaims "what's wrong with you?! I was told just a moment ago you were totally fine!". At this point, I'm hurt and kind of mad and finally feel I can stand up for myself a little. I stare in disbelief and respond "I have never been 'totally fine' with the loss of my child". She cracks more jokes about my parents being in town and getting Margaritas for the weekend. I've shut down at this point and she's only conversing with my husband. They shoot me with a high dosage of Ibuprofen and with zero warning start the procedure. I stop her. And ask why I am not sedated. She says they don't sedate for this procedure. I said I was assured I would be sedated. She tells me I have to relax and that planned parenthood does this for abortions all the time. At this point I growl "get your instrument out of me" and my husband starts saying whatever he needs to to get us out of there. I later found out that they charged us full cost for that procedure that they never actually preformed. That day, I called another doctor who heard my story, sat me down, told me he understood my pain and grief and got me in for a D&C that week and it was finally over. I dealt with this miscarriage for over a month because of Be Women's disorder, inconsistency, and complete lack of consideration for my needs as a grieving mother. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Staff lacks empathy and character. Bad first experience. Do not recommend. I wasn't even able to meet the doctor as I was told to reschedule. I was the last patient of the day and was 9 minutes late to my first appointment with Dr. Bartos. When I arrived, the girl at the front went to the back to ask the doctor if she would see me, and when she returned, I was told I have to reschedule. I originally found this place because I used to go to the old location in Crossroads, Texas. On accident, I went to the wrong location today and because I was 9 minutes late, I was told to reschedule. Not a great first impression. I will never come back here and will tell everyone I know, that the admin couldn't even look at me in the eyes and kept looking at her computer. I started crying because I have waited for months to get this appointment, and I'm never late to appointments. No one at that front desk even looked up. Very cold and lacking in empathy. Well, when the doctor is too busy for a patient who is 9 minutes late and the last patient of the day, I don't have time for them and will take my self elsewhere. It takes days for doctor to approve / call In prescriptions. I went and seen nurse practitioner in the office. It took 2 days for the doctor to approve the prescriptions! Gave them another try. Had appointment at 9am. Arrived at 8:50. At 9:30 I asked front desk how much longer. Was told should be any minute. 10:00 I asked the front desk again how much longer. Was told she'd be right with me. 5 minutes later they call me back into an office to tell me they don't know where my provider is and they need to reschedule for another day! Seriously?! It took over an hour for them to realize the provider wasn't in the office?! Sooo irritating!! read more

After a few years of a job in professional services that required 80% travel, I decided it was finally time to establish a primary care relationship in the area despite having moved back to Texas from Chicagoland about 3 years ago. I was very excited to hear that a women's focused practice existed in my area and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Santiago. Unfortunately, it's just not a good fit for me, and as such, I can't positively recommend the practice to others. At my first visit, I had the nurse tell me that a painful pre-existing condition that I have couldn't be that big of a deal. While the nurse did order one lab to address one of my concerns, the doctor declined to take labs that day to check on a concern that I had and that runs in my family-she framed it as "wanting to confirm my insurance" and asked that I come back in a month. I found this focus on insurance a bit bizarre given that I'd presented my insurance card and ID at the start of the appointment. So, I was left to wonder why there appeared to be such disbelief that I have private insurance. The icing on the cake was the inaction on my blood pressure reading. It was quite high at the start of the appointment. The doctor's reaction was less than thoughtful on that one as well. My husband and I would like to have a child soon. So, when I expressed wanting to make sure I understand the cause of the spike and make sure I get it under control given the death rate for women of my age and background giving birth, I was told it was "not that big of a deal" which is not only factually inaccurate but also didn't come across as empathetic. The nurse promised to retake it but rushed me out at the end of my appointment. I left feeling as if my concerns were not taken seriously. Although I'm a native Texan, I've lived in 5 other states in my lifetime and have never been made to feel like such an after thought by anyone in the healthcare profession. All in, I've decided to try another practice. Despite being an educated and professional woman, I suppose this practice isn't for people like me. read more

(I originally had to compromise this and make it 3 stars because I was having to rate MCNT, where Dr. Bartos practiced. Now that Dr. Bartos is leaving and starting her own practice, I'm changing the rating to 5 stars, which are just for Dr. Bartos. I'll rate MCNT separately in its own review!) Two things are all I know: Dr. Bartos is absolutely the cat's pajamas. I currently live in downtown Dallas and I still drive out to Denton to see her now that I'm pregnant because she's exactly the sort of obstetrician I want. (Ok yes, eventually I'll have to switch to a birthing center closer to home, but in the meantime...) She's very direct and honest and I can ask anything without feeling even remotely hesitant. She's been my ob-gyn for years and I really appreciate her approach. I've also noticed she or ones of her nurses keeps excellent, almost stalker-like notes. Huge plus. Very easy-going, great sense of humor. She clearly missed that med school seminar where they teach doctors to bury their ability to relate to their patients. The other thing I know is that if I have to call this freaking office (Medical Clinic of North Texas) one more time because of some administrative cock-up, my rage could quite possibly hit the Kitten Stabbing peak on the Rage-O-Meter. I really don't understand it--individually, each person I deal with on the phone is quite lovely, seemingly understanding, and *seemingly* (??) COMPETENT. But then I will get an email for an imaginary appointment that was never set. And BEST of all, the number on the email is for the wrong doctor's office, so when you call it, they have to give you the right number, which I am fairly certain they are tired of as well. They scheduled me for an anatomy scan at 12 weeks (this is my first, so I didn't know until I asked the Google machine, that you are supposed to be TWENTY weeks for this). I called to have it fixed and THAT took about 3 phone calls. Seriously. Sprinkled with lots of "Hmm, well, how did that happen." By the time it was fixed, I probably had to count to 100 or forever have a face-shaped dent in my office wall. Because please holy god, MAY I BUY YOU SOME DIFFERENT HOLD MUSIC. It's like something they'd play on a commercial or SNL skit to highlight just how awful hold music can be. God forbid you call on a super-ass busy day (1/3 of all days, really) and be stuck listening to it. There surely have been studies done as to what music of this sort does to people at prolonged exposure. Lord have mercy. So that all finally gets resolved and I have an appointment all set. About two weeks before the appointment, they call to reschedule it because the nurse practitioner WON'T BE IN THAT DAY. You guys, we're getting into Time Warner levels of incompetency here, for real. But honestly, that's how much I love Dr. Bartos. It's hard to find an obstetrician so completely on the same page as you and she completely gets everything I'm asking. So it will be hard to go elsewhere when I get closer to being due. But I will NOT miss dealing with the admin side (again, as individuals they are incredibly willing to help, so god knows where the disconnect is happening). read more

For us was the worst medical experience since we arrived to this great country, the people that work in this clinic are all liars and double faced. They don't give you any official paper with the indications of what to do with your problems nor they give any guidance or follow up to your case. Maybe they don't like people from other countries, but if so please don't take my money first and stab me in my back. And please read all what you sign with them so if you miss an appointment you won't get charged for it, and even if you get an appointment with the doctor get ready to be attended by a nurse. I went for an initial visit. I arrived at the time I was asked to arrive. When I checked in I was told I should have arrived another 30 minutes earlier to fill out paperwork. I explained I was told to arrive at the time I did arrive, and no one had informed me to arrive any earlier. She gave me the paperwork to fill out. It took me 15 minutes to complete it. I handed it back to the receptionist and was I formed I'd need to reschedule as I arrived late. I told them again I arrived at the time I was told to arrive. I asked for my paperwork back and cctold them I wanted nothing to do with an office that functions this way and left. Today I received a bill for $90 for a missed/ no show visit. I highly advise anyone who's thinking of seeing Dr Bartos or her NPs to rethink it and not go there. This is robbery. She will not see a penny from me! ! read more

I'm 28 weeks pregnant, and I just moved back home to Texas. I called this place since they take my insurance and they got me in the next day for an appointment because I needed a three hour test for gestational diabetes. (I had other places tell me they couldn't see me for a few weeks). Everyone here is so nice, and it being a private practice the care you get is personal. They even offered to let me nap on their couch since I have to wait three hours up here for my test. So glad I found this place! read more

I began seeing Dr Bartos a few years ago when I was having trouble with my woman business and was unable to get pregnant. I had a laparoscopy with her, we did three rounds of Clomid with her, and she handled all of my routine female care including managing my endometreosis. I loved nearly everything about Dr B. She's very chill and doesn't push anything on you. She's very into wellness which I think is great. I did occasionally feel like she was brushing off my questions but I believe it's because of her laid back nature. When she was at MCNT it was miserable because of wait times and rude office staff. When she moved to her own practice she only fixed one of the problems. The wait times were greatly improved over MCNT but her office staff there are condescending and rude. So here's why I left... After years of trying to get pregnant my husband and I finally conceived! I called the Drs office the morning I found out and got scheduled for blood testing. Dr B was out of the office for a couple of weeks (I don't remember why) but the nursing staff was excellent in getting me the information I needed. They had me coming back every 48 hours for blood tests to monitor my HcG and Progesterone progression. The nurses instructions were to simply show up during business hours and get my blood drawn. No appointment - no fuss. Apparently the older blonde woman at the front desk (seems like maybe the manager? I'm not sure her exact capacity) wasn't aware of this. The first time I came in for my next 48 hours blood draw I was cool with explaining it. Like hey - I'm just here for bloodwork - and they got me taken care of. The next blood draw went fine - although I mentioned to the nurse that my left side was hurting. They recommended I schedule an ultrasound just to be safe. The front desk woman treated me like a child. She felt the need to rudely remind me that I wouldn't be able to see a baby on ultrasound that early. Had she bothered to be mannerly she would've known that I'm well aware of average HcG levels and time frames needed to see a pregnancy on ultrasound. I was worried about my ovary causing problems - as is usual for me. A week or so into my pregnancy my left sided pain became severe but I was unable to get any help at the Dr's office because Dr B was gone and the sonographer was out, etc. No big deal - Dr B can't help that. I was told if I was really worried to go to the ER to get a comprehensive exam. I went to the ER (I took my lab results from the Dr's office with me) and got checked out. The ER Dr was unable to confirm that my pregnancy was in my uterus, they didn't think my levels were progressing appropriately, and they sent me home under the impression my pregnancy was ectopic. We were crushed. The ER Dr had recommended that I continue with the 48 hour blood draws until I could get into my OB/any OB. I went into Dr B's office the morning after my ER visit to have my blood drawn and the blonde lady mentioned previously treated me like I was an idiot. She chided me for not having an appointment (even though I was told repeatedly by the nurses that no appointment is needed). She told me that the lab tech had gone home, made me feel like that was my fault, and that I would just have to come back. My state of mind wasn't great. We had been trying for 31 months to get pregnant and here I was believing my pregnancy wasn't viable. I was just shocked that instead of looking for a solution to the problem - she jumped to blame me. I became ridiculously emotional (pregnancy right? sheesh) and left the office rapidly. A nurse called me a few minutes later (it clearly wasn't that hard to identify who I was and what I needed although it seemed beyond the capabilities of the front desk woman) and offered to draw my blood. I was too upset and embarrassed from letting this rude woman make me cry in public that I opted to not go back. I already knew Dr B was still out of town and I needed care now. I thanked the nurses - who I should mention are WONDERFUL - and terminated my relationship with the office. I ended up getting an emergency referral appointment with another OB in town and I couldn't be happier. Oh - and my son is due in just a few weeks! In summary - Dr Bartos is great. She's kind, compassionate, and worries about your overall wellness. Her nurses are absolutely lovely. It's been a while but I think their names were Michelle and Melissa. I loved them (even if I got their names wrong). But seriously.... be prepared to want to pull your hair out when dealing with the office staff. read more

Mary Eberhart is amazing! She is by far the best nurse practitioner I have ever seen in this field! I trust her completely!

I went here for My pregnancy back in 2019 and I was suppose to have dr. Bartos see me. Well the whole 9 months and even at delivery she didn't show up. Well the back up doctor did great and she was nice at delivery. Overall for the pregnancy it was okay, I would say a lower budgeted clinic would have done better compared to this clinic. The worse part is I got my tubal ligation done here also. well here I am 1 year and a half later pregnant!! How can a doctor remove my tubes and I still get pregnant!!! Worse thing ever! I absolutely love be. Women's Health & Wellness. I've never had to wait for my appointment, which is unheard of! It feels more like a spa than a dark doctor's office. The front office staff is great and the providers are INCREDIBLE! I really feel like they listen to me. Even the nurses seem to really care about you as a person and don't treat you like a checkmark on their to-do list. Highly recommended. read more

Dr.Bartos is amazing!! Sarah, the office manager is sweet. The new front office girls though..... o. M. G. If "Tammy" calls me again!!!!! I will lose it!!! When I tell you I have my payment scheduled, make a note and make that note CORRECTLY!!! STOP CALLING ME!!!! Good gravy!!!! This office has been fantastic until the new staff arrived. These girls have NO customer service skills!!!! No warmth. It makes me so sad. I know Dr.Bartos would be sad to know the lack of sincere care for her patients shown by the front office. These girls are supposed to set the tone of the whole office!!! Warm, welcoming, and comfortable atmosphere from the minute you walk in. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I see Katie, whom I love. She takes her time, explains everything fully, and answers questions and concerns in a professional, yet relaxed manner. She has helped me tremendously with hormone issues, as well as bp and cholesterol issues, this along with my yearly well visits. I feel completely at ease with her. Horrible!! Do not go here for pregnancy care. The office is a mess internally. Had numerous unnecessary appointments because the sonographers, doctors, receptionist don't talk to each other. The last straw was today coming in having drawn my glucose drink after being told that by Dr Lanoz or whatever her name is and then being told your too early for us to do your test. I only took it because I was sent home with it and told to take it for my next visit at 22 weeks. Like how stupid is this office. Receptionist are slow as well and cannot figure billing out to save their life. Just a complete mess. Such a shame since the office is new and next door to the hospital I'm wanting to deliver at. I know two people that have gone to this practice as well and am encouraging them to leave their horrific experience if I don't get back the prepaid amount I gave this practice. I've seen reviews that they will bill your insurance for false services so I will be triple checking and awaiting my refund. They might just have too many patients at this point, not sure what their problem is but Amber was great. I'll give them at least that. read more

Watch how they bill your insurance!!! A yearly (free) visit gets changed, they bill insurance for more then bill you for what the insurance didn't cover.... Should have been a completely covered appt, 15 min of Dr. (NP) time, billed my insurance for more saying there was "counseling" on other topics.... All false. The first year this happened I overlooked it.......then again this year, now they want the extra $10 from me....not about the money, about the principal......Watch your insurance statements....They do not care how they get paid, they are scamming insurance companies and passing the bill on to customers. If they were any good at all, they would not have come to me for "remaining balance" They can't even lie well. I would never have known of their deceit had they not starting billing me for services that were absolutely not done. read more

Dr. Bartos is a great OB (although I only saw her twice during the 9 months of my pregnancy). Unfortunately the office is just not run well and one of the new physicians there I am not a fan of. You don't get to choose who delivers you, so I had to leave the practice for my current pregnancy for fear of a birth I do not want (talking to me about a c-section when I'm 8 weeks pregnant simply because of a previous tear that healed just fine with no residual effects does not sit well with me). I was very disappointed that the office staff seems extremely uneducated in health share plans, and I was asked in a very judgmental way/tone several times why I didn't have insurance. I wouldn't recommend this practice based on my negative experiences there, although Dr. Bartos is a good physician she isn't the only one nearby. read more

Hi, all! Dr. Bartos is awesome! I used to see here at her practice in MD as my gyn. She was always prompt and never made me feel like I was being rushed. She listened to what I had to say and always made some time to address how my life was going with my family, remembering tidbits like my mom's birthday. I am 50 and had not stayed on top of my checkups so I was nervous to think they might judge. They did not. and my wait time was very minimal. That was a nice surprise. I got to the doctor and she did my well exam in lightening speed and left no time for questions. I tried to explain I thought I was starting menopause. She ordered mamo, bloodwork, and bone density. I had all of this done. She prescribe a hormone compound to "try" for 30 days. I did everything I was asked. No one ever called me with results. I called and was told my doctor was out of town and if there was anything wrong, another doctor in the practice would have called me. I was also told to call the mamo company for my results to which they provided but it was on paper and over my head. The hormone compound did not work after 30 days. I tried another 30 still not working. I called again about all of my results and my doctor was out of town again and not available for 2 months. I was told I could make an appointment with a nurse practioner instead. I took that option. My kids in the week prior had strep. The day of my afternoon appointment my husband called to reschedule 6 hours ahead of my appointment to say I had a fever and our twins had been diagnosed with strep the week before and could we reschedule. Of course they said yes but we would suffer a less than 24 hour cancel notice. Honestly, I thought it was a joke until I opened the mail today with a statement from them for $90!! I am enraged that all of the tests not one doctor or nurse called to say I am ok or interpret results or check on me for the hormones i was supposed to try. After I kept calling and was told my doctor was out for months on end to be charged $90 because i did not spread my illness. I will never go back!!! I really started out with high hopes. I never write reviews good or bad. I am passionate about this one so I took the time.! I felt this was an organization that did not care about me and was more like a cattle call. My wife suggested we go here for her prenatal care. Initially everything went well until we scheduled an ultrasound. We showed up excited to find out what was going on and were turned away by the receptionist. She claimed the nurse wasn't available to do an ultrasound but wanted us to get blood work for a 4th time. We followed the direction and left the office. We scheduled a second ultrasound and when we arrived the nurse asked " why did we reschedule?". We informed her that the receptionist cancelled us. She was disturbed and said " I will talk to her but there was no reason to have cancelled". The ultrasound revealed that my wife had a rare molar pregnancy. We were disappointed but the nurse reassured us that we would be well taken care of. She told us that if she chooses to pass this naturally she would prescribe pain medication but if she wanted it removed they would a D&C (removal surgery). We asked to see the doctor but we were told she was busy. Late that night my wife started having sharp pain and bleeding. We immediately called because we were told to call if this occurs. The on call doctor told us that they couldn't do anything and if she felt the need for assistance to head to the ER. She decided to wait it out. We did not get a call back from the office for almost 48 hours. When she did she was denied a chance to speak to the doctor again. Molar pregnancies should be passed or removed immediately due to the possibility that cancerous cells can form. We are still waiting for a call on tested taken during our last visit! Side note: There's a nurse named Mary: she is awesome and is always doing her best to make excuses for this office. She calls after issues occur, she takes the blame and attempts to smooth things over. She is the reason we gave a 2 star rating! She's great but the office is a nightmare. To this day we haven't meant or spoken to Dr. Bartos! I hope she exists. read more
