On June 25, 2025, I went in requesting a Paragard (copper) IUD. My medical record documents that I was there for a Paragard insertion and I was clear I wanted a non-hormonal option. Instead, a Mirena IUD was inserted, which I did not consent to. During the appointment, I personally overheard Tarena Sisk instructing her student midwife to cross out Paragard on the paperwork and write Mirena. I have a copy of the consent form showing the changes made. I sought medical care the same day and had the Mirena removed at Planned Parenthood on June 26, 2025. I reported what happened and pursued the appropriate channels. I also consulted an attorney, but was later told the case could not move forward as a medical malpractice claim. I have not received any direct communication from Craig Ranch OB/GYN regarding what happened. Tarena Sisk is no longer at this location, but that does not change my experience or my concerns about informed consent. I am sharing this because patients deserve to trust that the care they receive matches what they agreed to.

Off to the nurses's office to get normal doctor info such as blood pressure, weight, urine sample, etc. She is nice & informative but she can be a bit straight forward. Once you get into the exam room, Dr. Weise & his nurse both seem very caring, although the office as a whole is very quiet & somber. And don't expect cute things to read on the ceiling...lol. He is probably the most gentle doctor I've ever been to and the exam is over in a snap. It is a little awkward for him to talk with you before you get redressed but then again, it's not completely uncommon nowdays. Dr. Weise is also very Christian & Pro-life...they are so hard to find! He's a good one.

There were only a few patients waiting. There were three that came in after me and were seen before me. There was not even an apology. After my exam, I noticed she didn't take any samples. I asked and that's when I was informed about their policy change. Samples are now submitted every two years. I wished I was told before I made my appointment because I'm a two time Cancer survivor and requires extra care.

It had to be rescheduled and pushed back several times due to the doctor's "busy" schedule. We spoke for an hour and I was very optimistic that she could provide great care in the areas of concern. I was a little surprised at the initial fee of $400, but thought she's going to help me. I had my blood drawn soon after and waited for the office to notify me. After many weeks I had to reach out several times regarding my blood work results. I was told this was a "provider" issue, basically the doctor is too busy. I was finally scheduled an appointment for the end of March. I received a call on the day of the appointment that the doctor would be running late and could we push the appointment out another hour. I agreed, but made it clear I did not have the extra time to wait once I arrived. I arrived on time and waited an hour. The doctor still had not shown up, so I had to leave. I received no calls to follow up on my appointment. I called the next week and the secretary was surprised the doctor hadn't called me. I was not. She called 2 days later at 8 in the evening to tell me how busy she's been working at the hospital and that she didn't mean to make me feel invaluable. She proceeded to tell me about my blood work results and then message got cut off. I called to see how I was supposed to proceed and got no answer. At this point I feel the doctor did not follow through with her promises and believe I deserve my money back as I received zero care and a lot of hassle. The secretary is also hostile and is obviously tired of dealing with disgruntled patients as I'm sure this is a regular occurrence. This is by far the worst run office and doctor experience I've ever had.

I blame my steady diet of Wolf Brand canned chilie. Regardless of the cause I'm almost always on the end of, "We need you to come in for more tests." And it is never something minor. I test weird. But they always manage to keep me from freaking out. And Dr. Darrow will usually poke his head in, all cheery and tell me something good--like I've lost weight and I'm awesome and not to freak out. I'm a doctor's nightmare. When I get a sore throat I call in to tell them I need to come in for esophageal cancer. Doc Darrow is even nice when he advises me about my diet and exercise habits--which suxers. I like nice.
