I went in for my laparoscopy soon afterward - she told me to get the da Vinci surgery - and really, I was in and out within the same day! It wasn't very painful and I didn't have to take a lot of pain meds. The staff and both doctors (Branning and Weinstein) were very nice, friendly and patient. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd recommend them wholeheartedly!

I called and a man answered the phone that was very rude! After being out on hold several times (every time it rang back they picked-up and pressed hold, did not say anything) he finally transfers me to where I need to go. Shelly answers and I explain I am calling to make an appointment with Dr. Kim, and her reply is "Ya Alright, what will we be seeing you for". I just explained that I had changed my mind and did not feel that they were very friendly and hung-up. Both parties were very rude with there tone of voice. I felt like I had inconvenienced them by calling in or something. It is never okay to use "Alright" and "Ya" are never to be used in a professional atmosphere either! Shelly kept huffing and making impatient breathing noises as well! It is a shame that the two doctors lost business due to their unprofessional staff. I was really looking forward to using this practice. Luckily for me, they literally minutes from my house so it will not be hard to get the word out to other potential patients in the area.

At my visit on January 23, 2025, I was overcharged $20 for my co-pay. Once I received my explanation of benefits confirming my co-pay should have only been $20, I reached out to the billing manager multiple times to request a refund. Instead of processing my refund, the billing manager kept putting me off, telling me to call back, and claiming they wouldn't issue a refund until they were paid by my insurance. I followed up with my insurance company today and confirmed that a check was sent to them on January 31st--meaning they had already been paid but still refused to return my overpayment. This level of dishonesty and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. If they are willing to mislead a patient and drag their feet over something as small as a $20 overpayment, I can only imagine how they handle more significant billing issues. While I had no issues with the medical care itself and really liked Dr. Chowdhury, the way their billing department operates is unethical. I don't feel comfortable continuing care at a practice that doesn't handle patient payments with integrity. If you choose to go here, triple-check your billing statements and be prepared to fight for your money--and possibly never get it back unless you take legal action. It's been two months now, and I'm done chasing down $20, but they have definitely lost a loyal patient. In addition to this review, I did file a billing complaint with the Texas Medical Board and if you have experienced billing issues with this provider, I would encourage you to do the same.

Info for their next patients:…read more Need to share this after I finally talked to the doctor (Gupta) and the nurse practitioner (Mahnaz) today a week after the miscarriage. 1) I signed up for the OB I chose (Gupta). But Gupta told me she wasn't involved in any data checking or appointment decision making until I went to ER. She said it was all on the nurse practitioner. - What?! Why?! She said it was strange I was scheduled at week 11. It's usually week 8. - Whose responsibility?! Who's bearing the consequences? I asked her how I know if there was ever a fetal pole or not, she said "ya we don't know." 2) the nurse practitioner, Mahnaz, just kept telling me even an earlier sonogram wouldn't make any change to the result. - what about the data for me to know what actually happened? And she just did what every OB would do. - without asking her OB? She told me she didn't know I tried to make an earlier appointment. It was all the front desk girl. - Seriously?! At the end, she just told me "I need to go to see my patient. You can talk to the office manager because you and I are not getting anywhere!" Next thing I knew, she slammed the door and left me in the room by myself. - What a jerk! It hurts like so many bad words. I'm surprised she does this for living. No matter how much I told the NP, Mahnaz, after I signed up to Gupta about my advanced age and my last miscarriage which was within a year, the NP just gave me very broad info intake and 2 blood work in week 5. I had to be the one to request for blood work in week 6 when I saw my HCG wasn't doubling. No more blood work scheduled till the miscarriage. My first sonogram was scheduled at week 11. - Ridiculous! I called and requested a few times to have an earlier sonogram. I was told the Dr said it's not necessary!!! I feel very dismissed from this place on me or whatever risk I am going through. One star bc there's no zero star option. Just know that all the negative reviews here and on Google are not coincidence.

Head injury patients get shuffled around the system in a very poor fashion because when your brain doesn't work you cannot figure out what to do or where to go or how to get help and find things. I have been through many things after my injury and do not believe I would be alive today without the help of this doctor and her staff. One thing that I think I have noticed is that she expects you to try and improve and take care of your health better and if you are trying more it seems she will focus more energy into helping you improve all aspects of your health. She helped me find other specialists who can help with more specifics of my condition such as a cognitive rehab therapist and sleep study etc as well as providing her own treatment. She also previously fixed a stomach issue that had eluded one of the major hospitals and a doctor rated as best in Dallas by Observer Magazine. Excellent doctor the only catch is that I think she puts more effort into the patients that put more effort into themselves so expect to be serious about your health.
