I think with the longer we live in Houston, the more overhyped we think Wegmans is. The prices here are just so dang high. We grabbed a medium cold sub here and with tax $9.17. (Blah). Nonetheless, the sun was pretty amazing. Everything here was clean, well stocked. Store was packed at 1:40 on a Tuesday. (Why are we ALWAYS in the way?) Employees are friendly, like always. We arrived in the Rochester area after a crazy travel day with delayed flights and bad weather. A full day of no food. After picking up our rental car we stopped at this Wegmans on the way to our destination. Unfortunately, a lot of the hot foods were also put away, but they still worked the pizza station. They offered some great specialty pizzas. We had them heated up and sat in their cafe section, able to eat and relax for a little bit before completing our trip. This Wegmans offered a little bit of refuge. The employees we interacted with were great. Wegmans is really an amazing experience; too bad we have none in California. read more

Everything was great except two things! The guys at the sub counter should change their plastic gloves often! I noticed them touching shelves, handles, etc. and then taking food for the subs with the same gloves! Also, the cheese looked dried out & was on one sub. Also, Wegman's needs to use different turkey. The one we got was awful! It was really wet looking & looked sort of slimy! I noticed everything above at all the Wegmans we have gone to. Even Blasdel. These days this is generally my go to Wegmans for all my Wegmans related grocery needs. There's a clock tower on this Wegmans and while I haven't figured out how to get up into the clock tower, this is a goal of mine. I assume they must keep some very good deals up there. This is just speculation, but I think it's safe to assume all the products in the clock tower are 50% off. When you think of impossible tasks, your mind may go to Norse mythology, specifically the story of how to tame the ferocious wolf, Fenrir. You could easily say getting up into the clock tower is a similarly impossible task and maybe one day there will be folklore stories about it. read more

What an amazing store! Wegmans has everything you need. Food, party supplies, home decor, personal products, bulk items... the list goes on. We go in even if we don't need anything because it's so much fun to walk around and drool over all the amazing food offerings. Buy ingredients and cook it yourself or buy prepared meals and just heat them up. Easy peasy. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Always available to lend a helping hand. Disappointing to have trouble finding certain items with nobody to really help. I'm living in California and love the variety of Wegmans-but prices seem a bit high. Trader Joe's is looking better to me. Huge variety in beer but couldn't buy a single bottle of wine. There were literally a few ( 6?) on shelf of non alcoholic. Wegmans is a wonderful grocery store that we visit every time we visit Finger Lakes. Their store brand items are incredible and we normally purchase a few items to take back home with us. My complaint that keeps this from being five star - the $15.99 per pound for the hot food items. Yes, it's good but we all know how easy it is to try add a little of everything to the carry out container - and next thing you have a $25 carry out meal for one person. Was the food good? Yeah...Next time, I can get two packages of carry out sushi for the same price. read more

Wegmans played an integral role in making my way on the Eve of Christmas Eve to insure that my three Grandmas (out of four that my kids have) had gifts for each other and from us. Bringing Bills gear to house #1 and a wonderful submarine sandwich to house #2 made this trip wonderful! I was especially thankful for Anthony at the sub shop for giving us all of the extras on the side for our 1 and 1/2 Turkey sub that my 88 and 82 year old parents devoured with me. I explained what delicacy this meal has become for us on our quick COVID safe meals. We've enjoyed them on the back patio in warmer days and socially distanced in the kitchen where I grew up. This is specifically about the bakery at this location.   A friend of mine first told me about the awesome ombre cakes they have there, so I drove out of my way to get one!  That was probably a year and a half ago. The cakes are white or chocolate ultimate cake with tons of frosting in beautiful ombre colors!!!   They used to do them for each holiday, but they don't seem to do it anymore, so you have to call and order one. They are my go to special occassion cakes now.  They are fairly expensive, but they are so good and sooooo pretty!!! I wish they'd go back to selling them all the time, or have them at other locations.  They did a multi color one for Easter, red and green ones at Christmas, an American flag one for the 4th, etc.  Not that I need that many cakes, but the ones I had were great! The bigger one is about $30, and the smaller one is like $15.  They are expensive, but are well worth it! Prettiest cakes ever!!! read more

This Wegmans is twixt & tween for me... its a big store when you're not comparing it to the stores on Calkins Road the mothership Monroe Avenue location. I'd compare it to the Hylan Road & 441 stores. While I don't shop here as often as the Duke (Hi Chris!), I pop in here from time to time when I'm visiting clients in the area. When I think about this store, I'm reminded of an old story about a student at a very New England prep school who went up to the headmaster and asked if he could have butter for his gingerbread. The headmaster looked at him and said "at our school, we have some of the necessities and some of the luxuries, but we don't butter our luxuries." You won't get the full-on Harrods-like experience here, but it still is one of the better stores in the chain. I'd give this store a better rating IF the parking lot wasn't such a nightmare. Route 31 can be quite hectic during the peak hours, and parking your car can be quite a trying experience. read more

I like this Wegmans very much. It underwent a renovation a couple of years ago which was frankly rather annoying, but it has come a long way since then. It's much more modern now, with better selection. The staff is amazingly friendly. I've had many nice conversations with them over the years and many remember me between visits. One of the pharmacists even greeted me by name out of the blue one day after meeting for the first time several months earlier. I was astonished! She still excitedly says hello whenever we cross paths and even pre-orders a vegan flu shot for me every year without asking, having noticed my habit of getting one. read more

So recently went to apply for a cashier which is already the easiest retail position but I didnt qualify for the position because i have to watch my son Tuesdays and Thursdays and they did not like that. Meanwhile the people that supposedly do qualify for the lame cashier and cart pusher position are drunk and on drugs. When I worked at the gas station nearby here, I used to sell alcohol to all kinds of Wegmans employees and managers who would admit to drinking before they got on the clock, and half of them wouldn't even make it out the door or the parking lot before their drink was open. The parking lot especially by the back of the plaza near the pet store and hardware store is littered with shooter bottles and joint roaches. If you are a parent in need of work, save yourself the time and apply elsewhere because these scumbags are the type of people to retaliate against you for having to do your job as a parent and its ridiculous. By the way most of the Wegmans employees I've talked to all say it sucks to work there. Glad I dodged a bullet. read more

I love Wegmans... And especially this one. Great staff, massive selection and quality. The store is always spotless and well stocked. Loving the expanded beer selection and the Pub. Walking distance from my house so I stop in for food, pharmacy, prepared food or a quick drink almost every day. In 15 years of shopping at this store I've only had a couple of minor issues and they were quickly and professionally addressed. Great job as always Wegmans! read more

This was the first Wegmans my family shopped at, as our house is just up the road. Over the years, I've watched this location slowly evolve from a ho-hum grocery store to the prestigious chain Wegmans is recognized as. While this location doesn't have the same panache as the Pittsford location, it carries almost all of the same products, with the same prices, and excellent customer service. Like all Wegmans locations, the store is well stocked, clean, and full of new and interesting products. I love coming here just for the samples! During peak hours, nearly all of the checkouts are staffed, bringing wait to a minimum. The helping hands crew do a great job of getting stray carts out of the way and assisting customers with their groceries. read more

We had a small wedding reception catered by Wegmans at the end of September. I was wonderfully surprised! The food came hot, and on time. It was delivered quickly and the delivery men were so so nice. The food itself though, yum! They had brought roast beef with a tzatziki sauce which was cooked perfectly, so tender it melted in your mouth and when paired with the tzatziki, to die for. They also had an array of salads, antipasto, mac salad, leafy salad, and other sides. So delicious!! The roasted chicken was perfectly cooked and well! I was shocked at how good it was to be honest. If J ever have a small function where my mother isnt forcing me to have her cook, I would greatly consider Wegmans! read more

Another prescription problem, why do I continue to have it sent here. Picked up the wrong quantity, should have been 90 day supply but they say insurance only approved 30 but when I asked the cost difference of 30 vs 90 they did not know. Oh Weggies, how I wish you were all over the country. This is the Wegmans I frequented growing up, and it is expanding to be more like the one on Monroe in Pittsford. Unfortunately I think some of the upgrades are simply unnecessary, and it seems like they just spread things out instead of adding a significant amount of new "stuff". It's just making it more difficult to park and simply go get your groceries. Also, my mom has recently begun to complain that many products are only available now in the Wegmans version - she thinks it's becoming somewhat of a monopoly on brands. That said, I still believe Wegmans is the best grocery chain in the country. It may be super expensive and monopolistic, but I just can't get enough of their superior quality and selection. As other reviews have said, it's Wegmans and anyone who lives in the Rochester area especially knows what this company means to our community. There is an over reliance on their in-store brands and some national favorites have disappeared over the years. But the store recently did a complete renovation and it is fantastic. In the past I have shopped regularly at two other locations (Penfield and Pittsford) and felt they were a bit too big and started to feel like a warehouse. So, I think the Perinton store is the perfect size. The produce is fresh, the options for takeout or eating in are volumous. I was sad to see that the recipe for the buffalo wings was changed recently and now seems like an artificially red in color. Subs here are great and I have recently taken to making pizza with their fresh dough which my boys thoroughly enjoy. I will also say that despite a common misperception that their prices are higher than Tops, recent experience has shown that to be false. In a sample of ten items I found that nine were less expensive here than at Tops and in many cases Tops sale price was Wegmans regular price! So maybe their prices are higher for some items, but in terms of the staples I buy weekly Wegmans is clearly the choice for the Perinton area and beyond. Oh my god!!!! You think you've seen one Wegmans you've seen them all...uh no! This place nothing short of a blood soaked gladiator arena! I visited this Wegmans with a family member, who tried to warn me, I laughed when I shouldn't have. I walked in, and immediately realized how dim it was compared to other locations. I should have known then. My shopping cart was my noble stead, and with no lance to joust with, I was feeling true terror and vulnerability in a strange arena I've never been in. People were bashing into me. Literally into me! There was a "traffic jam" of sorts in the produce section and people were actually yelling and swearing at each other, and then proceeded to crash their carts together while they viciously grabbed at the varieties of lettuce; it was like some kind of terrible adult version of bumper cars. This Wegmans was dim, tiny, and I'm just thankful nobody ate me and I made it out alive...just barely though, some lady yelled at me for being in her way while I stood in line at the 7 items or less aisle. I had to stop over at the liquor store around the plaza after that crazy experience. It was like an episode of Spartacus in there. Calm down Fairport! It's just celery!! read more

Wegmans, our local darling of a grocery story you love to hate proudly displayed this week a large pricing sign next to their own 22 oz. white bread proudly proclaiming "Always Consistently Low Pricing." Indeed a remarkable achievement given that the loaves of bread, now $1.19, had been $0.99 each for the past three years (we buy several loaves a week for our deer friends in the backyard). Couple this with the narrow aisles, probably the rudest collection of shoppers in the Rochester area (hey, I'm a Fairport resident and I shake my head in shameful wonder at the behaviors I see exhibited here), and shelves now crammed with a majority of Wegmans brand only items and who wouldn't want to shop here! Glad to see that Tops continues to ignore the market opportunities afforded here and lets our Wegmans get away with dominating the market. Music aside Christopher, there's no way I would give this Wegmans 4 stars. Let's hope that things change a bit when they finally redo the store but as for "always consistently low pricing," well, I think we all know where that's headed. read more

The final one...the very last new Wegmans I had the opporunity to visit after a leisure drive to Fairport again. I, being a diehard Wegmans fan, was really hoping for something new to Wegmans that this one had to offer. To be fairly honest, I have nothing much to say about here since it is all the same as the others. The produce and bakery goods were fresh as usual, the store was neatly kept, and the service was very well and fairly quick. However, I can't give this Wegmans a three star since I found really nothing wrong with it, if you count the sloppy milk area, which did look like the milk was weeping. In conclusion for my final Wegmans, I would be more than happy to return here when the time comes around, and I recommend others around here give it a try as well...you won't be let down! read more

I never have any trouble in here. I've tried many different stores from tops to Aldis but I always come back to wegmans for one reason. Their food is great and worth the prices. Unfortunately right now money is tight so I have been using food stamps. They cashiers are nice and friendly up until they see I have swiped my EBT card. I NEVER buy junk food or 20$ steaks, I don't own a smart phone or a fancy car. They make me feel very uncomfortable to the point I DREAD going shopping. And it's a bummer because this wegmans is convienitly located literally right next to my apartment complex. read more

The Pub is now open. Wegman's gets it! I wanted a chef's style restaurant with good hearty bar food. I had the shrimp po boy and my wife had the Prime rib Sandwich. Very good , nice seasoned Fries and the portion size was big we could have split either and not left hungry. Can't wait to go back for the fish tacos or the Pub Burger. This Wegmans can get hectic, as can any other. I actually had someone warn me on the way in once. Something along the lines of, you don't have to do this, you know. Or something like that. Anyway. The problem with any wegmans is all deceny goes away once you step foot into the place. Elbowing little kids out of the way, bopping old ladies on the head. And that's just me. I usually love Wegmans. But everytime I go to this specific store, I have had nothing but problems. I asked about a specific cut of meat, and the guy working in the meat department didn't even offer to help, he simply stated "nope, don't got it". It was fine before but they had to expand it and now it's too big. And they STILL are not done with it. They have been doing construction on it for 2 years with no end in sight. When I walk in their it smells like drywall dust and gives me a asthma attack to the point I have to use my asthma inhaler.
