Also important to note, I have no tattoos. Since doing my eyebrows on a daily basis is time consuming (and they never last), I had been considering getting my brows done with permanent makeup for quite a while; even visiting a competitor in ROC a year ago for a consultation. After that consultation left me feeling very unconfident I'd get my desired result, I dealt with filling them in every day for another year... until now. I did some more research, found Beautiful Permanent Makeup for the first time, and had an excellent first conversation with Alynn on the phone - Things were already better than where I had gone before. I followed that up with an in-person consultation where I felt comfortable, had all my concerns addressed, and proceeded with getting my eyebrows done! This was, by far, the BEST decision I've made; even now, as I sit here with "fresh" brows that haven't "settled" yet, I am elated at the result. Immediately after she completed one eyebrow and I looked at it, I almost started to cry. She is truly an artist who is able to create a shape best suited for your face, make everything look 100% like real hair (even up close!) and works with you through the process to ensure things look right to your eye at every step. Absolutely wonderful. Would recommend to anyone!!

-DISHONEST - RUDE - UNPROFESSIONAL-…read more I only give one star reviews when the business fails to treat me like a human being. If you are polite, even if your product sucks, I'll give you at least 2 stars. As you can tell from my reviews and my rating distribution (https://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=v1P1mFlnPjVTJredlhJuwg) - I *almost* never report negative experiences. I much prefer to use this forum to sing the praises of local businesses in hopes it helps them thrive. However, there are sometimes rare and extreme circumstances that make me break away from that mentality to use this venue as a warning to others (like being served raw chicken in a restaurant that won't make it right, or being blindsided by inexplicable personal attacks from a business manager, such as the case here.) Weeks back, I scheduled an appointment at SoHo Salon for my hair and nails for my pre-bachelorette party beauty treatment. Yesterday, two hours before my appointment, the technician (Tina) called and had to cancel; her vacation had run long. I was disappointed but understood. Things happen. She asked to reschedule. We rescheduled for this morning at 9:00, before the salon even opened. I moved around several other appointments and went on with my life. The last thing she said to me was "see you in the morning, thank you so much for your flexibility." This morning she did not show up, nor did she answer her cell phone. No one answered the Salon phone. I was disappointed, but not angry yet ; maybe she had an accident? Maybe she overslept; people make mistakes. I left a message on the salon voice mail, saying she missed our appointment and to please have a manager call me back. No one called me back. I continued calling throughout the day, at least 4-5 times, but did not leave additional messages. I wanted to talk to a manager because I knew a good, professional manager would have: (a) Acknowledged me. Because I am a human being who now had wasted hours of my time. (b) Apologized, because that's what professionals do when mistakes are made. The apology would them open the door for me to give them another try. (c) And most importantly, and the reason I kept calling back, a good, professional manager would have bent over backwards to fit me in for an appointment today, before my trip. No calls returned. On my call #4 or 5, someone did answer. The manager came on and was absolutely disgusting. I was very caught off guard. I had not been rude and I had no idea why he was so angry at me (unless they were screening their calls, and were frustrated I hadn't gone away yet?) ~ Manager Chaz said that she rented a booth from him and the missed appointment had nothing to do with him. To which I replied, "Sir, in all due respect, it does affect you. I hired her under your business name. When I go online and write about having a wonderful or terrible experience, that is on your business-" He hung up on me. Moments later, the owner called me. Told me that my appointment was in the calendar for next Wednesday, not today. To consider it cancelled. They didn't want my business. And HE hung up on me. I was even more confused. How did I misunderstand the words "See you tomorrow?" or the other words, "We will get it done before your trip on Thursday, so sorry I messed with your schedule."? Better still, how come the manager and owner were so angry at ME? I had done nothing but try to give them my business. And even if I screwed up in a way I don't see, how do they think it is okay to treat a fellow human being like that? I checked my email, and there was one from her, sent yesterday, confirming my appointment for this morning at 9am. I forwarded it to the manager... Still, no apology. So either the owner lied to me, or the woman who missed our appointment changed the schedule to cover her a** and lied to the owner. Either way, I had an appointment made weeks ago canceled and rescheduled, then a no-show, then no calls returned, then rudeness and hung up on, then called back to be hung up on again. These people are absolutely nuts. I am new in town and have been bouncing around trying to find a stylist I like; they just lost out on years of potential business. I am not upset Tina rescheduled. I am only a little annoyed she overslept and missed the appointment. But I am livid at the way I was treated in the fallout. In this situation, the manager took no responsibility at all and put the blame on his employee that he claims no longer works there. But despite the mistake of his worker, she is not the person who elevated this rectifiable situation with unprofessional and personal attacks - that was him. Yes, his employee didn't show up and then lied about it, but it is his responsibility as the manager to make the situation better for his clients. Instead, he made it much, much worse. Please, for the love of humanity, take your business elsewhere.

The wax was quick and professional, and the ladies have been great to chat with throughout. For my haircut and color, I have been going to Erica and she's wonderful. Very consistent, always listens and will give me other ideas after asking if I'm open to hearing them (her ideas have been better than mine). She asks questions like "if you could change anything about your hair, what would it be?" and then uses that information to give you the perfect cut, style, and advice. I thought that was really thoughtful of her. I've been very pleased with my color and my haircuts over the past few months!! Also, you can't beat the Aveda products!

First I scheduled a trial and my stylist cancelled twice over the span of about a month. At this point it was only two weeks before my wedding and they couldn't fit me in with another "senior stylist" so I went with another random stylist and understood appointment would be free of charge for the inconvenience. However once the trial was done (it took almost 3 hours and still wasn't quite right) I still had to pay 95+ tip as apparently only the hair cut was free (25) and I still was expected to pay for the styling. Then we get to my wedding day and I am supposed to have a senior stylist but was cancelled on a THIRD time the day of my wedding and was only told once I arrived at the salon. The same girl who did my trial did my wedding hair and I didn't complain much because who wants to complain on their wedding day? My bridal party also got their hair done and it was all beautiful but mine took an extra hour compared to my bridal party even though I requested a very very simple style , just curls and a little bit pinned back, and it came out very poorly despite me trying to steer the stylist in the right direction. I had to redo my hair completely afterwards even though I paid over 100 for my hair. I curled it myself and had a wedding guest who happened to do hair help me style it. Took less then 20 minutes and was perfect when we did it ourselves. After the wedding I looked back at the photos they took at the salon and I can't believe they let me walk out like it was! Totally falling out, messy, asymmetrical and bobby-pins showing (Photos from the salon and by the time I got home) About 3 weeks after my wedding when all the celebrations were done we called this salon back to explain what happened and ask for a partial refund or at least something. My mother who called was accused of "extortion" by the owner when she said she was calling before I posted this review... which is an honest review and we wanted to give them a chance to right it before complaining online. Then we were told we should have planned my wedding further out which has nothing to do with them messing up my hair so much. In the end they said they would call us back and it's been 4 days now. Overall really disappointing, This was the most stressful part of my whole wedding. They should have done more to compensate me or at least done my hair well... this was my WEDDING hair for crying out loud.

Pittsford Hearing and Balance is staffed by a male and female doctor of audiology. Dr. King is…read moreprobably the most obnoxious care professional I have ever met. A hearing aid repair that was billed to the practice was passed on to me at $150. I saw this as King was scrolling through the information on the computer about the repair. He said he had to pay the bills....oh well. Doubling the repair price to the customer is kind of steep for elderly patients. He has a very condescending way about him. I only went there because it was convenient. I found another provider in Rochester who coincidentally used to be at that practice, but is quite different regarding how they treat patients. Also, if you go to this practice, you will be inundated with phone calls for setting up hearing tests and hearing aid cleanings. You may think, oh great, I will have my hearing aid cleaned, and you might think it is free, but they bill the insurance company for most types of visits. So I guess this means that my $5000 hearing aids are only worth $2500, not even. My mother, who is 90, lost her hearing aid. I purchased an over the counter hearing aid that serves my mom very well. In fact, I bought two, for a total of $100 online. I tried them; they were terrific. Elizabeth Warren is the co-sponsor of a bill to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to require the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to categorize certain hearing aids as over-the-counter hearing aids and issue regulations regarding those hearing aids. The regulations for over-the-counter hearing aids must: (1) provide reasonable assurances of safety and efficacy; (2) establish output limits and labeling requirements; and (3) describe requirements for the sale of hearing aids in-person, by mail, or online, without a prescription. This is an important bill that I hope will be passed. Don't pay $5000 for a pair of hearing aids unless you have to!
