I stopped here on my way home from Victor because I heard they had some rare hard selzers. Most of the ones they had, I have seen before. There were a few that were unique. And they were pricey, so I didn't try any. If I had really wanted all the flavors in the box, I'd have spent the few extra dollars. They had Truly and White Claw that you see everywhere for like $3 more than I usually buy it. I don't drink beer, but if you do, there are all kinds of it. The cooler is very cramped to walk in. Someone walked in the area marked "do not enter", and I do think it was just a mistake. It's weirdly marked, and looks just like the rest of the cooler. Well, a guy came and yelled at him, which I assume is the guy mentioned in some of these reviews. I found it funny that I was only here for 5 minutes and witnessed it, lol. This place is such a toss up. If you go when the two ladies are working I wish you good luck. I presented my ID when purchasing some alcohol and it was denied because it was slightly peeling, it scanned and everything. I even presented my US Passport and they still denied the sale. On the other hand the owner and his son are super nice. Certainly a great selection of everything when it comes to beer. Prices are a bit high, but it's mostly justified by their stock. read more

Had emergency need to put air in my tire. Costs $1.00 in quarters. Had no quarters. had no cash. went into store to explain. "We have a cash machine." Wouldn't take my card. tire was still intact when I left there to find air elsewhere... am now standing 6 minutes down the road with a shredded tire trying to get to the hospital to find out why my child was taken there. read more

I previously stopped by this Steamer's Marathon location about five months ago and wrote and submitted a review for all to read. (SEE BELOW). In the meantime, I was passing by Steamer's Marathon last week and thought I would try it again. This time I just bought a little gas, coffee and a donut. Then, since the day was nice, I ate my snack outside in front of the building. Well I guess it was the owner of Steamer's Marathon who does NOT like customers hanging and just standing in front of the building. HE tried to chase me away for NO REASON. Please see my comments from this past Sept. below: REVIEW SUBMITED IN Sept. 2020 -- All bicyclists, runners and walkers should STAY AWAY FROM Steamer's Marathon location. They do not like recreational people in the area stopping in. I was one of five people standing in front of their location and the Steamer's Marathon manager tried to scare us away from gathering. Even though we bought a coffee or two. In fact the manager yelled at a cyclist right in front of us!!!! read more

Terrible customer service. Was annoyed to give me a couple dollars in quarters because "she just sorted her drawer" and didn't want more paper bills. The quarters where for their air and vacuum machine. Never going here again. read more

A bit over-priced, but it IS a step up from your usual gaseteria. Useful for a quick fill up, nice amenities and decent foodstuffs. Just wish the gas prices were a little closer to the area average. read more

I had been told that this Hess station has the best beer selection in the Rochester area. The selection is great,but the staff are not. The attendant refused to take my driver's license as ID, despite state lawpermitting Canadian driver's licenses, and claimed that because they were an independent business that they didn't follow the same rules as governed by the state for ID. If you're looking for a gas-station here, it'll suit the bill. However, step out of your car and see that this station offers much more than your standard fill-up stop. Inside this presumably inconspicuous store is a treasure-trove of beer! Their selection is arguably the best in the city. You'll find 22's of Stillwater, AleSmith, & Dogfish Head. Specialty imports like Evil Twin & Brew Dog. Even high-end (west-coast) domestics like Firestone Walker & Elysian. Then after you're all done stocking up, there's even a live-bait vending machine outside! read more
