Tops is fun to shop around for different brands that the other local grocery stores dont have. They have thier own brand along with many other brands to select from. The weekly ads always feature coupons and they are stocked with the sale items. The rotisserie chicken is a great deal and much larger than thier competition. You have to really do your homework to find the best deals but you can shop on a budget here. They have a nice clearance section. The bakery is really good and they are the only store in the area that sells the chipped beef in thier rye dip. The service is pretty slow. Lines are long on busy days. The bags are not good and rip easily. Its usually quiet inside and it has wide aisles. read more

This is one of the multiple grocery stores in the Henrietta area. It is in generally good condition and clean, except for the self checkouts. They are very grubby and really need a thorough cleaning. They seem to mostly only have the large shopping carts, very few of the smaller carts, and no hand baskets. This can be really annoying when I need multiple items but don't need a full size cart. There store is well organized and the wide selection of items are usually in stock. The prices here are higher than other stores, but once in a while they have good sales that are worth stopping for. The meat department seems fixated on "Thin Sliced" meats. A lot of the meat and pork are sliced very thin and even their "Thick Cut" is thin too. A lot of the meat, especially the chicken, is over priced. They often have meat sales that either bring their prices closer to average of other stores, or sometimes better than other stores. I don't do the majority of my shopping here but its nice to shop here for a few things. It is less crowded and congested than other stores. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The customers are generally more cordial here as well, compared to that other hometown store. read more

I don't normally shop here, that other store is closer to me. Ever since they moved from down the road... just not the same. The parking lot is not as convenient and to many pot holes. The entrance into the store is small and cluttered. However I am willing to deal with these things for a great sale ..usually on Pepsi max or their heavenly butter rum muffins with this glaze on top.....yum. There is a wide variety of beers here, I've found a few treasures here. They have a bunch of self check outs, I'm a fan. Makes for a faster exit as long as you know what your doing. read more

Every major region has 2 competing super markets. in Florida, it's Winn Dixie and Publix. Southeast is Kroger and Publix. When you cross over the DC line, you get into the Wegmans and Tops area. There is obviously a hierarchy of which supermarkets are higher end and which are lower end. Honestly, after combing up and down the East Coast, my hierarchy is going to be 5. Tops 4. Winn Dixie 3. Kroger 2. Publix 1. Wegmans in terms of shopping experience, freshness of produce, and quality of goods. I had been hitting up Wegmans for weeks now and going to Tops was quite a shocking experience for me. Prices aren't that much cheaper. You may get some deals with your Tops savings card, but honestly you're now sacrificing quality. They did offer some cheaper lines of food that I don't see in Wegmans. You walk into this store and automatically feel that things are a little too cheap and dinkier in quality. Manager's special: I was wondering where this rack was in Wegmans, b/c most grocery stores have this rack and Tops definitely has one. But honestly, since the stuff in this store was of questionable base line quality, the managers special did look too shabby for my interest. Produce: I got some cherries that were clearly from the not as aesthetically pleasing group- conjoined cherries always gives this group away. The nice looking fruit always get shipped over to Wegmans and Publix. The "uglier" fruit get sent to farmers markets and I guess, Tops. Herbs were half moldy and browning and still selling for full price. Dried goods- this is where they do shine pretty well. Since these goods don't go bad, they can have some pretty good sales here. Nothing here is high quality, organic, but is good for your junk food and lower food quality needs. I recommend hitting up Costco for bulk healthy food. Wegmans for quality smaller portions. Tops if you got toddlers or lots of children/hungry co workers to feed. read more

It's Tops.. I've been here enough times. Staff is pretty standard.. decent sales and plenty of parking. I give them a 3.5 cause certain things are cheaper than Wegmans. Produce is pretty good, they usually have all the new flavors of Polar Sparkling Water and they have good sales on it as well as meat& chicken and the like. Their ice is too $$ why almost $3 fir a 7 pound bag.. whatever. Tops is not a bad place but I only come in this location if we're in the area for Barry's Tea (it's from Ireland) and the sales. You can get plastic bags from them now due to the pandemic. Peace out read more

I'm not really sure how this place is still in business. They're more expensive than places like Aldis, Costco and Trader Joe's; their selection and shopping experience is worse than Wegmans. In addition: 1) Produce section is tiny and often doesn't have really basic ingredients that you'd expect in any supermarket 2) Prices are expensive 3) Store layout is somewhat confusing 4) Website is useless (hard to lookup products / product location) 5) This is a lesser complaint but the self-checkout kiosks are far more clunky to use than those at other stores like Wegmans and Whole Foods read more

This is a decent grocery store, but it is organized oddly and it is lacking some items you would expect to find. For example, their vinegar in inexplicably in two different locations. The white vinegar was really hard to find, I had to ask for help. I never did find any pita bread. That said, it has most things you're looking for, the prices are decent, and everyone seems friendly and helpful. read more

After a career in management at Tyco Electronics I wanted a P.T. job to stay busy . I applied and got a job in the Produce Dept at Top's in 2020 . I noticed that Top's hires many people with disabilities which is great . I worked at Wegman's in 1973 while going to college and enjoyed the smaller store feeling where all the employees knew each other and many of the customers as we have at Top's now . We get many Senior Citizens and disabled customers who don't want the giant grocery store's with too many aisles and confusion and may need assistance . The Meat Dept. with fresh cut meat and cuts to order is fantastic ( I ordered a prime rib roast for X-Mas and it was delicious !) Bigger's not alway's better !!!!!!!!! read more

This is my favorite Tops. The bakery is wonderful and inexpensive; I've ordered multiple times for celebrations or parties. Their meat selection is impressive, and you can't beat their weekly coupons. It's clean and the staff is always kind and friendly. Gas points add up fast, saving a few bucks a month. The only way it could be better is if they stocked Breyer's Peach ice cream! read more

Typing this while being stuck in line for over 10 minutes. All registers are down and this place is full of angry people. This is a newer location with seemingly older gear. I enjoy this store as it is smaller and easier to manage for a quick shop. The butcher is so nice and will help you find the right cut of meat for an event! Plus they have pints of Perry's which is a family favorite! read more

I would give this store a big Zero in customer service! I bought a gift card for a birthday party my son went to. To my embarrassment the dad contacted me to say the gift card didn't work. When looking in my bank account I realized that I was charged twice! After telling my story to 4 different employees and waiting 30 minutes for the assistant manager "Fred" to come talk to me I was told they don't return gift cards! He treated my husband and I like criminals and would not give us a refund. He said, "You want me to just GIVE you $90?" Well duh, yes I do because that's how much I paid and got nothing for it. I said "wouldn't you want that if this happened to you?" To which he replied again that they don't return gift cards. He said I would have to come back the next day to talk to the store manager. I can't just leave work! Well this isn't over, I will dispute charges with my bank and call corporate but I will never shop at this Tops again! read more

I love the size of this store. It's not to big like alot of other places. The only thing is it tends to have a fish smell. They need to clean the fish area better and then it will be perfect. read more

I'm rating only their take out fried chicken and that's a win / lose situation. I believe their fried chicken is probably the best in Rochester if you like the taste of southern fried such a I. The problem is the take out is packed in a bag with waxed paper at the bottom. The chicken is not drained when it's put in there. That results in only the chicken on top being edible. The chicken at the bottom of the bags is totally soaked in grease to the point the chicken and its crust has become discolored and soggy wet with the stuff. So that's my take. I have to throw away half and/or buy double what I need to get a an edible meal. Change your packaging please, don't use wax paper thinking it's going to soak up the grease. The only thing it's good for in this scenario is to keep the bag from falling apart so the customers won't get a car full of grease. Please fix this ASAP. read more
