I really can't believe that I just discovered the joy's of Aldi's now. I always get food delivered from here thru Instacart and this store has replaced both Wegman's and Tops. I love their selections and they have some unique items on the shelves. The food is always good as well, I have never had anything that didn't taste good. The reason I say this is because I grew up on Tops and Wegmans food and Aldi's food tastes a bit different from what I grew up on. read more

This is a great location as it's close to Wegmans, liquor store.. and ext..it's tidy and has all kinds of things. Aldi has stepped up its game with Organic, GF and they are eliminating a lot of fake things in the foods. Ramping up vegetables and etc. like anything else it can be hit or miss at Aldi some stores have everything others it can be hit or miss. This is a nice stop in your grocery store shopping game. Oh yea now they do Instacart... it's a nice location and yes they have plenty of parking. Bring bags and a quarter for your cart. Cheers! read more

Update: as I unload my groceries into my car I felt the need to check in. It's a Sunday afternoon and it's kinda busy here but not really. The produce was off this week. The strawberries were legit awful. Every package was wet on the bottom and most of them had mold starting. I found one that was passable and got them. Blueberries all over the floor bananas still in boxes where they should have been unloaded. I check out and the lady wasn't very friendly just ask how I was because that's her job to ask. When she was done throwing my chips around like it was a basketball into the cart she flings the kart out of the way to make room for the empty one I had. My full kart decides to take off.. she does nothing I wait for her to grab it...nothing just sits there like a bump on a log. I ended up going to grab it and she acted mad I wasn't checking out fast enough. It's nice saving money in all but I don't know if it's worth being treated that way. Maybe we'll go to Wegmans next week. My family does our grocery shopping here as it's the closest ALDIs to our house. There is usually only 3 or 4 people work which is never a problem. The shelves are always stocked and cleaned. Must people complain about not having everything but I don't find that to be the case. Maybe because I know what they have and plan accordingly. For a family for four with 2 growing boys we usually spend $50-$70 a week here for everything we need food wise. The only complain I would have is the egg cooler. It's always a mess. Definitely check your eggs before you buy them here. I love saving money on essentials like groceries. Before aldis we were spending $100 or more a for the same amount of food. read more

Aldi is a great alternative to spending my entire paycheck at Wegmans to feed my family of 5. We manage to spend hundreds less by shopping here. Wegmans is replacing more and more of their items with their own brand which is a huge turn off for me. I want options not to be forced to buy all their brand. I still shop at Wegmans for some items I can't see to find at Aldi but I am very excited to see the renovations that are coming soon! I hope we're given even more choices than they have already given us. All the employees are friendly which I don't see a whole lot of that with all the kids who work at Wegmans. read more

This Aldi's location is great! They just renovated and it's super clean and bright! Love the new carts, even though I swear I can never find a quarter, lol!they have a good selection of frozen veggies and non perishables! Never had a quality problem with the meats, just wish they had a bigger selection of fresh fruits and veggies! But you can always cross the street for Wegmans if you can't find something! The extremely low prices are definitely worth it! read more

ALDI gets a terrible wrap. This location is awesome. It was remodeled not to long ago and their selection has greatly improved from when it first opened up in Rochester. I normally go to the ALDI in Titus Ave but as it's being remodeled I've been forced to check out different locations. This location has bigger aisles which are nice for maneuvering around and getting what you need in an efficient manner. The produce selection at this location is legit. They have expanded their organic selection as well if your trying to be more eco friendly and body friendly. A full selection of breads and pastries hit your nose as soon as you walk in creating a warm welcome. Bright lighting and a chic design add to a pleasant environment that you don't mind taking your time in. I know a lot of the gripes that come from shopping at ALDI come from the store being understaffed and receiving poor customer service. I'm here to tell you at Mt. Read you won't experience that. Fred the Store Manager would bend over backwards to make your experience a great one. Very welcoming and friendly; you could swear that you've been friends for years. The checkout service here was also quick. You can tell the staff was well trained and there was plenty of people willing to check you out and get you on your way. If you're looking to cut your grocery bill significantly, stop in to Mt. Read ALDI and enjoy the savings and the quality. read more

This store has collected very unpopular attention and rumors due to Wegmans being a romantic dream to every Rochesterian. However, Aldi's is a great grocery that will you SAVE $$$$! Big thing I noticed was all the quality control employees checking products constantly. I want them to give a damn, that's important to me. All in all, price and products are good, plus if some things don't jive with you, just cross the street. read more

I have reviewed most Aldi locations in Rochester, but I am going to just update here. I like this specific location because it is right near everything: The Liquor Box (great wine prices), Tops, Wegs, etc. You can do all of your errands in one small area. Mt. Read Aldi does a great job at keeping things in stock. Also, they have totally expanded their organic, gluten-free, and health food options. You can come here and get your coconut oil, almond butter, natural products for a fraction of the price. They are really pushing for no added dyes, hormones, and preservatives in what their stores carry. A lot of the cheeses are started to show grass-fed options, and they offer an array of meats with leaner percentages of fat (ground beef/turkey). I actually have gotten ribs, strip steaks, and a round roast from here that have turned out wonderfully. They have ham on sale frequently as well. A bag of shrimp goes for $6.49, and salmon filets ball park around the same price. Produce can be a hit or miss, but I typically have good luck at this location. They are carrying more organic produce options now as well. I shop both this location and the one on Long Pond (Nr. Latta). I usually make Aldi's my first stop, and if needed, will then go to either Tops or Wegmans. Aldi's canned good selection is first rate. The bread is ok; comparable to Wegmans store brand. Their dairy section is fairly extensive. I'm not a fan of their ground beef, but their chicken and roasts/steaks are very good. Aldi is like the smaller local grocery stores that we used to have in Rochester. It is however, a very large chain of over 9000 stores in 18 different countries, and based in Germany. The Aldi where I shop is fairly small. The brand names are different than what most people are used to seeing but most all of the items are pretty good. You have to bring your own bags unless you want to buy the very inexpensive ones they have available. It's best to go a little early since they don't seem to re-stock in the evening and they close at 8:00pm during the week. You may not be able to get everything you need here but you can probably get most of it, and the prices are very reasonable. It's a nice, easy in and quick out alternative place to shop for groceries. read more

Aldi is a great little store for the person who wants to stretch their dollar a little further. They're nowhere near as big as a Tops or Wegmans, so don't plan on doing your weekly grocery shopping here. Aldi gets a lot of their products shipped in from international brands (especially Germany), so they have a lot of great alternatives at a cheaper price. Looking for mini muffins or Fiber One bars? Aldi has a cheaper off brand. Looking for some cheese and crackers to go with your wine? Aldi has great cheeses at fantastic prices. They even have a small bakery section where you can find all kinds of breads and bagels. If you have an Aldi near you and you're looking to save a little money on some of your groceries, check them out. Just remember to bring a reusable bag or two. Aldi doesn't put your purchases in plastic bags like other stores do, but they have paper and reusable bags under the check out counter that you can purchase. I went to the new location in Chili. The store was nice and clean. Unlike most of their other stores around, the parking wasn't very close to the shopping carts which is annoying when you have an infant and a toddler. Cashing out was terrible. What person or store would expect the customer to move their infant and toddler from one cart to another??? Why not just put the stuff back into my cart my children are already in???? So instead the cashier awkwardly throws all my stuff in a different cart but proceeded to put items in the seat part where she expected me to move my infant to... never has anyone ever expected me to switch carts when I've had my very young children in a cart already. I shopped at Sam's club before they left and they always just put the stuff in the cart I was using. So she finished cashing me out and then pushes the cart out of the way... so I just stand there like wtf??? Then glares at me and says I need the cart back and goes you can move your kids... I just stared at her like ummm... no! Then goes or you can move the stuff or I'll just move it and started throwing my stuff on top of my toddler! So now I'm holding up the line. What's funny is the person behind me had an even younger infant with him, was she going to expect him to move the baby too? Seriously, I will never go back. This cashier was ridiculous. Thank you for being so rude and throwing boxes ontop of my toddler! And treating me like I was dumb for not just moving my kids from one cart to another because that's normal.... I'll just stick with wegmans, it's worth the extra cash read more

I love Aldi stores. Their products are just as good as most brand names. In some cases such as chocolate, they are better. They save money by displaying product in the cardboard boxes, you bag your own groceries, you pay a quarter for your cart and you have to take care of it yourself to get the quarter back. It is no frills. But what you save in cost is worth it. For the same cart full of groceries that would cost $300 at a regular grocery store, I pay $200 at Aldi. Their return policy is excellent as well. They give you your money back and replace the product. There are usually longer lines, but it is worth the savings. The company is based overseas, so they have some wonderful imported baked goods at holiday time as well. The cheese is excellent. They have cookware, lawn care and odds and ends randomly as well.
