They ask you which apples you would like to pick and then tell you how to get to those apples. They also give you some heavy duty bags to place your apples in during picking. There is no real parking lot but you can park your car in front of the area that you would like to pick from. We picked gala and janagold apples. There was a large amount available and they were all delicious. We picked a full bag of each kind and all of the apples lasted awhile so I was able to do a large amount of apple baking. When you are finished you drive to the front, all of the apples are weighed and you can pay and be on your way. You must pop your trunk for the weighers whether apples are in there or not so you might as well just keep all of your apples in the trunk. The apples are also fairly cheap. Like I said, we got 2 full bags and paid under $20.00. So much cheaper and tastier than getting them from the grocery store. Overall, we will certainly be back. I can't wait to pick other fruits they have growing there.

The CSA features produce from local farms, many are organic too. They break it out in seasons and now offering year-round options. For the spring share, I paid in full to reserve a weekly share with pick up at Three Heads Brewing - $64 for 4 weeks ($16 per week). They have several other pick up locations, days, times, and even delivery. I opted for the small share, which is good for 1-2 people for a week. So far I've enjoyed making recipes with a few ingredients I've never worked with before like green garlic, rhubarb, beets, etc. That's the most enjoyable part for me - the challenge of cooking with something new and going outside my comfort zone in the kitchen with new veggies and getting creative. In their weekly emails, they'll break down what types of veggies you'll be getting that week as well as recipes they've compiled on Pinterest, which is handy! In addition to the veggie shares, they have several other options you can add one, including eggs, meats (chicken, beef, pork, duck), fruits, veggie burgers, bread, yogurt, and coffee (they partner with Fuego and Joe Bean). I haven't opted in for any of these yet, but am intrigued and may consider it down the road to try more local meats, eggs, etc.

I am really excited about the fall selection. Our first fall delivery had a great variety of (mostly) vegetables and some fruit. Everything was so fresh, and the portions were perfect. The price is well worth what you get. They have a number of pick up locations that service the Rochester area, and a variety of private and open-to-public pre-box drop off sites. I think it's a great opportunity to really support local growers, and I'm excited that the food is coming to me for the next few weeks.

I always buy every blueberry in sight as my grandson loves blueberry pie made with these huge berries. The carrots are awesome - my whole family waits for them to come out. My vegetarian daughter snatches up as many as I can buy. The flavor is sweet and even better roasted. Darlene and Ken are friendly and welcoming and always willing to share a story or two. Great service - even help loading the car. Support our local farmers - they work hard to deliver the fantastic produce they sell.

But there is another gentleman raising and selling lettuce since the other has gone. I am trying to find his name as I would like to get in contact with him. He had the stall on the corner of the first isle in from the side street. If you have his name and a phone number I would love to have it. The market is not huge but that is what I like about it. Quite a few of the vendors have a small selection of sub par quality veggies and are literally selling stuff out of the trunk of their car. Why buy questionable stuff here when the public market downtown also runs on Saturday and has longer hours with better stuff? My advice is to skip the Fairport Market and go spend your money somewhere else.

Best price per pound of any CSA, by a long shot. $330 gets you five months of brown paper bags brimming with organic veggies. 2. Tons of pickup locations, so you can get it anywhere. 3. Just about everything is regular main stream veggies - lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, onions, spinach, zucchini, winter squash, etc. Except for the kohlrabi, I knew what everything was the first time I saw it. 4. Melons are included. Most CSA's have no fruit or it is a separate fee. They are working on some orchards, too. 5. The pick up locations are people's porches, so the veggies arrive and you can get them at your leisure. Depending on your pick-up site, you can get them as late as Sunday morning, which is great if you're gone for the weekend. Our host even puts it in the fridge if you let her know ahead of time and puts it back out at the pre-arranged time. 6. You get to visit the farm once to pick up all the vegetables for your group. The farm is great to see, you meet some Porters, can see their sheep AND you get to pick from whatever extra produce they have that week that didn't divide evenly among the shares. 7. To date, they have never run out of share. You can sign up last minute where as most other shares sell out months ahead of time. 8. There is an early bird discount if you sign up before April 15. Pick up is Saturday after 11am, which is a pro for some and con for others. Sometimes they post the veggies ahead of time which is nice if you were planning a trip to the farmers market before you pick up. If I were to make one change, it would be to allow people to skip a week and make it up later which Native Offerings does. I've got no complaints. I love this CSA. Your pick-up location might not have great parking, but you can't blame the farm. You can get a free guest bag if you want to test it out. Info is on the website.

There was plenty of local vendors selling many veggies, some fruits, honey (and lip balm), pasta, grass fed animal meats and several bakeries including a gluten free one. There is free parking on the street and in the lot across from the market. There is also a table where people with EBT and credit/debit cards can exchange their money for tokens since none of the vendors will not take card. Considering that this is my first visit, I do plan on stopping by more often so I hope there will be more vendors in the future.
