We decided to get some groceries from this Trader Joe's while visiting. Trader Joe's is known for some of their unique items that are delicious. We tried their avocado ranch salad which was not bad. Of the frozen dishes: The frozen ravioli were delicious with plenty of sauce. The long green beans had a nice and spicy sauce with it and kept their crunch after being reheated. The squash Mac and cheese was one of our favorite dishes - really great flavor. They have refrigerated grilled chicken breast which wasn't half bad - it wasn't the most moist but not dry. Decently good flavor for lots of lean meat. Service was great, staff were friendly, check out was efficient, spacing of everything was good. Didn't feel crowded even though it was busy. They had the same great prices on all the items as well. They had a signature NY bag for 99 cents available as well. All of the employees were super friendly, as usual. For me, the downside to this store is the layout/spacing/amount of people in a small area. Every customer always seems to be in an absolute daze, which is a bummer because that usually means they're blocking huge portions of shelves I need to get to. I cannot get in and out of this store in a reasonable amount of time. The staff is friendly and will get you checked out as soon as they can. I'm coming from Toronto, and this location is a bit out of the way (like an hour after crossing the border) but this one is not as crowded. This trader joes looks just like every other trader Joes. There's a washroom and it was pretty spacious. Customer service is good as always and I find the staff very friendly. They had a good selection and I mainly came for the Ube mochi pancake mix and found it here. I feel like since this location is out of the way, you can most likely find what you want here. read more

No idea how I've never reviewed this Trader Joe's since it is honestly my favorite place on earth! I don't even know where to START! First of all - it is important to know that TJ's will not be a one stop experience. If you're looking for tampons or hair products or things of that nature, you'll need to drive down the plaza and head to the other small grocer in town... But now that that's out of the way, let's talk about all of the amazing things you CAN get at Trader Joe's: 1) the best, most delicious, least additive-ridden frozen food available on the market! I always find some new thing to love in frozen (recent obsession? Gyoza) and I don't make a trip here without a plan to stock up. Other true loves include the Indian food, organic roasted veggie pizza, and the panko breaded tilapia for fish tacos. Look at the ingredient list on their frozen food, compare it to other frozen products, get excited that you won't feel OVERLY guilty. 2) Beautiful and inexpensive FLORAL! Their arrangements always put me in whatever seasonal mood I need to be in and are just gorgeous at all times. 3) cheeeeeeeeeese. Basically all of your frommage and charcuterie board needs are best covered here. From nuts to cured meats to stinky cheeses. 4) The best customer service experience of your life! I have essentially fallen in love with every employee I've ever met here, as they are all SO helpful, kind, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure you leave happy. Case in point: I was chatting with the two employees bagging my groceries, explaining that I was doing my first grocery stock in my newly purchased home. They congratulated me and and one of them stepped away, while the other completed bagging my groceries. Don't. You. Know. that the sneaky other friend was putting together a flower arrangement for me to take to my new home?!?! I just love Trader Joe's so much and want to be BFF with every person I meet there. I came here once when it first opened, and it was so crowded and disorganized that I just left without getting anything. I decided to try it again, and I looked at their Instagram first, and had some ideas of what I was looking for. That helped, but it's still really crowded, and feels like everything is thrown together. I came at 3:00 on a Friday to try to avoid the crowds, and it was still super busy. For instance, I got some burratta and avocado hummus in the refrigerated section. I wanted to get the egg salad, but I couldn't reach it from where I was standing, and I forgot about it by the time I could get to it. I don't want to wait in line to get to a cold case. And that's literally how crowded it was. Some of the things I got, I really liked. I absolutely loved the peaches in the jar, and will definitely get them again. The burratta was very good, and cheaper than Wegmans. The tzatziki I got was ok. The spicy avocado hummus was too spicy for me, but it was fine. I really was not a fan of the cookie butter that people seem to love so much, but that's ok. And I got a pear cider that just sounded interesting to me, but I really didn't like that. And again, that's ok because everyone doesn't like everything. I had to try it to know. Some things I was looking for, I couldn't find, and the way the store is setup, I can't tell if they were out of it, or just don't have it. There's crispy vegetable pouches that are supposed to be seasonal and very good. I have no idea if I looked in the right place, and the store was so busy that I couldn't ask. And since everything is just thrown around, it's hard to tell where anything goes. I really do not like the setup of the store. Maybe it's because it's small, but it's hard to tell where anything will be, and it just feels like they stick it where ever there's a spot. And this is an ok place to go for certain items, but I can't get all of my groceries here. I spent like $30 here, and bought just about everything I found that I was interested in. If I go to Wegmans to spend $30, I spend like $100, and have groceries for awhile. This is a special trip, and can't replace a trip to the grocery store for me. I also don't understand the check out process. Why does the cashier take your cart? I don't really see how that's helpful, and since each register faces a different way, I think it makes it confusing. And again, it was busy anyway, which made it worse. Despite this review sounding otherwise, I actually will come back here. Again, I loved those peaches! There was one left on the shelf, or I'd have bought more then. Since I didn't have a bad experience with anything I bought, I'd be open to trying other things I see. But as others reviewers have said, I feel like it's a roll of the dice on whether they have what you're looking for or not, and if the shelves are empty or not. read more

I must admit i'm not as big of a Trader Joe's fan as my wife, but i'll admit TJ's serves a purpose and offers products that can't be found anywhere else. I'm not sold on TJ's for meat and produce, however they have an excellent selection of frozen and prepared foods. I'm a regular consumer of their frozen Indian meals. They also have a good microwavable bibimbap and curry meals. Other things I like are their inexpensive flowers and their cheese selection. I don't think the cheese is local, but still good stuff. They also have a nice selection of snacks, ie. banana chips, candied ginger that i'm a fan of. I think they've handled COVID-19 pretty well, although the line out the door always stresses me out (even if it move fasts). I also like the fact their high quality paper bags are free. read more

Today got prepackaged salad 2 days left on date but it was very bad seal had been broken and someone had taped it closed. I first visited trader Joe's about 3 years ago...and while I have only been back a handful of times since..I will say for sure I love trader Joe's. I just wish it was closer! While their prices are surprisingly low on a lot of their products, it's just not very ecconomical for my family and i to drive out there to save on a grocery trip. But when I do head that way some of my favorite products to get are the dried fruits...there is so many different varieties..and the prices on them are too good to pass up. Serious question..how does trader Joe's afford to sell their dried fruits so cheap? Especially when places like Wegmans sell dried fruits 3-5 times trader Joe's price. Another of my favorite things to get when I go-to trader Joe's is their sweet plantain chips...I snapped a photo of them...if you haven't tried them yet, buy them. No added sugar and So sweet! Even if you are a person who typically isn't a fan of plantain chips...these will change your mind. That's really all I have to say about trader Joe's..I will leave you with a fun fact..when you hear those bells ring in trader Joe's you might ask what's that all about? I always google to see what the current popular items are and often try one or two of them. (That's how I discovered their frozen Orange chicken that my family loves!) Great store, so many options here. Flowers and fruit are reasonably priced and I love the selection they always have. Nice variety of nuts and granola as well as different sizes. But my favorite is the coffee selection....they seem to always be sampling different items every time I'm in the store. Store is a lot smaller then I expected, and they do have a lot of seasonal items. Holiday time they have amazing snacks, cookies and other goodies... I highly recommend the butterscotch shortbread wreath cookies. Perfect blend of buttery shortbread and crisp butterscotch chips. Plenty of parking because they are in Pittsford Plaza. After all these years we *finally* get our trader Joe's and the verdict is...? Pretty dang good. Trader Joe's presence in Pittsford Plaza is NOT akin to David sneaking up on Goliath Wegmans with a rock in a slingshot. I don't think that Trader Joes will cut into Wegmans business at all... if anything, I feel that the placement of this store will help the mothership and vice-versa. Why? First of all, Trader Joes is *not* a full service service grocery store. It is, like it's sister store Aldis, a limited inventory "no frills" store that specializes in higher quality store brand products. The main difference between the two stores is that the Trader Joes' product blend is skewed towards the high end. If you look closely and compare products, you'll find some overlap between the two stores. What I like about Trader Joes is the same thing I like about Aldis. Good products, great prices. About the only thing I've purchased here that disappointed was the wraps. I wouldn't recommend coming here expecting to get all of your shopping done in one place. Instead, I'd stop by here before or after a trip to Pittsford Wegmans. You'll get the best of both worlds. read more

Went to Trader Joe's today to look around (first time). Although it was very crowded today, being a Sunday, it was well worth the trip. Came home with a basket full of new items for my daughter and myself to try. The items are reasonably priced. Very happy with many glueten free and vegan items. They have a great variety for all to choose from. A big plus is that everyone that I talked to who works there is polite and helpful! (Since dealing with the public for so many years that is a break or save for me). Just with they had a bigger meat variety. Suggest everyone to at least visit the store. read more

Trader Joe's has been doing well in Pittsford Plaza, even with Wegmans in the same vicinity. It is because their specialty items, and "health" appeal. When you walk in, right away you are greeted with an array of gorgeous, reasonably priced flower arrangements. They have lots of beautiful bouquets, some look even better than the Wegmans florals, and the prices don't disappoint. They also carry reasonably priced orchids. Then, mosey over to the cheese and charcuterie section. The cheese is great quality, and again, inexpensive. I like the bacon cheddar wedges, wine brined santorini, and the goat cheeses. The "bulk" section with chocolate peanut butter cups are great. If you are over there, you can get a delicious cup of coffee. The beer section is nearby, and they have quite the variety. I have to say that Trader Joe's does well for the gluten-intolerant/celiac crowd. I brought my mother here and she was pleased with their bagged cookies, bagels, and bread. She was also able to get granola bars and crackers. All of those things together totaled $15, which is great because those who shop on this diet know the woes of how expensive gluten free items cost. Sometimes I don't write a review of a place for awhile because I don't think I can do the place justice, good or bad, but in this case it is very, very good. It certainly would qualify as trendy and Yelp will be happy to know that they do have bike parking right in front past the carts! You are always greeted with a beautiful array of flowers and am told they are better prices and last longer than anything you would find at Wegmans. I have been here half a dozen times and always came out with something tasty and something else to try next time...apple pie anyone? Got a baguette which was soft and delicious on it's own but they had it sliced with some bruschetta mix on top. I am not a fan of diced tomatoes, but this was quite tasty. Had a free sample of some unfiltered apple juice that was pretty good (but not enough to make me switch!) and they always have some kind of food to be sampled in the back far corner. Deserts here have always been good and I had my eye on some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (no raisins which is a big plus for me) but will have to wait for next time. My only complaint is something they really can't control and that is how the people in Pittsford always seem oblivious to the existence of other forms of life they deem inferior. That or I gained the power of invisibility overnight. So many near collisions! But that is anywhere you go in this town. So, while I wouldn't shop here for every day necessities (but you certainly could) it is an experience to be had at least once before you die. read more

I am completely and unashamedly happy to admit that I freaking love Trader Joe's. Maybe it's because I'm used to the one on Route 17 growing up downstate when it first opened, but this store and this franchise is amazing. And I can say with absolute certainty that the location in Rochester is no different than the rest. The staff are genuine. My god, the staff here are real people!! They're not your classic robots you'll find anywhere else because they actually have personality in them! I've never experienced a rude customer service clerk here in my life, because it feels like they actually care about the work they do and the customers they cater to. There's always also free samples of something or other in the back of the store, and despite feeding tens upon tens of people at a time, they always manage to keep a gentle smile on their faces. I absolutely love it. They are on top of their game and they should be proud of that fact. As for the food? Oh my gosh. It is by far the cheapest produce I've found in all of Rochester. If you're looking for amazing quality fruit and veg, you will find it here at prices better than their largest local competitor. I swear I don't think I've ever spent over $50 on a purchase here, and for my household this is a rarity when I go out for groceries. Some of their home-brand items can be hit or miss at times, but I could eat their florentines for weeks, if not years, and their selection of nuts and dried fruit combinations are purely delightful for the taste buds. Give their plantain chips or soft dried mandarins a try - I promise you, you'll love them too!! So if you haven't done yourself any favors recently, now's your chance. If you haven't been to Trader Joe's yet, go and become enlightened. They are inexpensive, gentle, friendly, and best of all delicious. SUNDAY SHOPPING REVIEW: Oh lawd. Ask yourself, is today Sunday? Then don't come here. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big trader joes fan. Especially their unique items like dark chocolate cookie butter cups, spinach and kale Greek yogurt dip, inexpensive organic produce, etc. However, being ballsy enough to throw one of these next to Wegmans...the Pittsford locations of all...means TJs needs to bring their A game and they just aren't. I've been here multiple times and been greeted by empty shelves, but tonight was extra empty (see photos below). The produce looked dismal at best of what was left...yikes! I ended up having to go to wegmans for grapes, kale, lettuce, sweet potatoes, spaghetti squash, and almond milk. Phew. See, if you're coming to this trader joes, you're trying to avoid the hectic atmosphere that is the Pittsford Wegmans. So what's the point when you can't complete your grocery shopping here? Thing is...I can always complete my grocery shopping at wegmans, hectic or not, so this place needs to step it up! Almost 3 stars for the full staffing of people there, but when there is no lettuce to put on the shelves they're sort of tripping over one another. read more

It's probably about time that I finally write a review of Trader Joe's since I've been going here over the years. The main draw for me isn't that they sell organic foods. For me its the large number of great vegetarian foods available which are ridiculously tasty. Their sample offerings always seem to get me hooked on something new. Of course, Trader Joe's has great prices on their foods. For around $40 - $50 I can stock up on double of all of my favorites along with a few new items each trip. read more

Trader Joe's is a great place to shop for most groceries. Thier prices are low and they have a good selection of items. However, they don't have everything a usual grocery store would have. For example, no baking soda or white vinegar. The location of this is convenient and you can go to Wegmans for anything they don't have since it's right in the next parking lot. read more

Made my first trip to Trader Joe's this weekend, despite my loyalty to Wegmans. I'm not a traitor, OK? I just had to check out the competition! And don't worry, I won't be converting any time soon. First off, there is the hassle of the location. Bad parking made worse by giant snow piles, and simply too many people inside and out. It seems they couldn't keep the shelves properly stocked. The store definitely looked picked-through at 4pm on a Saturday. I chose three products. 1. I'm a big fan of Chobani mango greek yogurt, so I got the Trader Joe's brand for comparison. $.99 for only 5.3 oz and the flavor does not compare. Also not very many fruit chunks. 2. And now you (and all of Yelp) will find out about my guilty pleasure. Crunchy Cheetos! Wegmans has a store-brand of these that are better than the real thing. Trader Joe's offers a baked version with 33% less fat. These lacked cheese flavor and a good crunch. You're not scoring so well, Joe. 3. Lastly, and the real reason I made the trip that day, I picked up their Mikawaya Mochi Ice Cream, mango flavor. ohmygoshsogood. I had mochi ice cream for the first time in Denver, and I heard they carried a brand. $3 and change for 6 servings. Go get these little balls of delicousness right now! They have other flavors, too, but... mango. Come on, guys. I'm definitely going back for the mochi, but probably not much else. Update: I've returned to pick up cheap avocados and honey. And more mochi! One note I forgot to add is that they double-bag pretty much every time. I thought this was ridiculous until they put my groceries in a single bag and not only did the handles fall off between my car and front door, but the entire bag split down the side. I visited for the first time a few years back and wasn't impressed. Tried it again last summer because Wegmans stopped carrying some items I needed. Found some comparable items at Joe's, and am very happy with both the quality and price. Have been a devoted customer since then, discovering even more appeal via a really friendly, happy staff. Prices are reasonable, decent selection. Four instead of Five stars because their organic cherries, although fresh, where no where near as good as the unfortunately overpriced organic cherries Wegmans has, at the same time of year. That experience deterred me from trying other of their organic produce choices, but, I will try them regardless in time. A neat store. Too far away from me. I'm familiar with TJ's on the west cost. This version is a little smaller but equally as busy. They still have fresh flowers for cheap, awesome selection of cheese, great quality frozen products and TJ's staples like Cookie Butter. The cashiers are efficient and friendly, the floor staff is busy but helpful and there is always something brewin at the sample station. I often run in for bagels, kale dip, almonds, coconut oil & feta. Little known (around here) fact is that if you are unsatisfied with ANY of their products for ANY reason (even if you just didn't like it) you can return it for a refund. They will happily accept the item (or empty package) back. Now that's a company that stands behind it's products! read more

I am a sucker for Trader Joe's. I love their selection of pork free sausages, the black pepper turkey bacon, almond milk, frozen foods and organic produce. It is never crowded when I am here (usually around 7:30-8pm during the week). The employees are insanely helpful and friendly. The sampling counter in the back of the store gets me 90% of the time (seriously...soft brie and butter waffle crackers?! Whaaat.) ! Trader Joe's role is still secondary to Wegmans for my weekly grocery shopping but I much rather stop at TJ's to get something quick (eg. milk, eggs bananas) than venture into the Pittsford Wegmans parking lot. read more
