Wegmans is my favorite grocery store in the North. This location isn't the one that, but I needed some items so I came here. This grocery store is super clean and friendly employees. I wanted some capellini with Asiago, but this one seem to not have it. But they have other selections for others, just not for me this time. I also wanted the antibiotic free roasted turkey, but I didn't see any and nobody was there to assist me since it was 8pm. Besides that, they did have fresh fruit and veggies. :-) I may not be back to this one, but I will be back to a Wegmans near by. :-) read more

Not to be confused with Wigman's, which makes hairpieces and stuff. I used to work at Wegmans - not this one - and I can tell you it's not all roses. And in fact it could be pretty racist, judgmental, and high schooly cliquey place to work, and if the wrong people are running things you can end up living in a nightmare. A lot of the employees do. Become friends with a few of them and you'll see what I mean. I'm sure it's the same at any given grocery store but Wegmans keeps posting how it's the number one place to work for so many years so the irony is loud and clear. Prices are not low by any stretch of the imagination no matter what anyone tells you - especially by cheap Rochester standards. You'll pay a lot here and even though Tops is similarly overpriced, there are cheaper alternatives out there and I recommend them. Some of the stuff at Wegmans is good and they even have a lot of things you won't find anywhere else, especially on the higher end. But on the other hand, the low end stuff can be iffy, and a lot of stuff can be expired, and overpriced too, can you imagine. It's also isn't as nice as some of the other Wegmans stores in town. Edit.. After receiving abuse from 2 different people, one of them seeming to be an employee and predictably racist, after this review has only been up for half a day.. I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice this one was. Its location would make you wonder about it....if ya catch my drift, Haha Its super big, super clean, and very well laid out. Very nice store. Highlight: A mid-high tier grocery chain store that is clean, well stocked, and pleasant to be in. Produce prices are a little high, but everything here is high quality and not likely to go bad easily. Normal and competitive prices for all household items, dried goods, etc that are comparable to Costco. If you want cheaper items but lower quality, then Tops is the competing grocery store in this region. Tips: this is a chain that has an advantage card thingy. The app keeps tabs of your receipts, gives you coupons, and discounts. Produce: Prices here can be a little steep- almost comparable to things at Whole Foods. However the quality here is excellent. You won't find anything yellowing and going bad on any aisle. A bundle of scallions can stay fresh and crisp in your fridge for a whole week. Depending on season, some produce can be super cheap. For example, in the summer, a clamshell of blueberries can be as low as 5.99 compared to the 6.99 at Costco- none of the berries are moldy and can last for 1.5 weeks. Their selection of herbs are a little small, but their organic section is pretty well fledged. Home goods: Toilet paper, plastic bags, etc are competitive prices to Walmart and Costco in terms of quality and price- the plus side is that you aren't stuck with bulk amounts from Costco. I find that their soaps and cosmetic prices are more competitive than Ulta and drug stores. Dried Goods: They have their own Wegman's brand item and Top Care products, and I guarantee everything here is high quality. Even the Wegman's products are as comparable to Mariani's Dried Fruits for example. Beer/Spirits: there is a side liquor store part of the Wegman's. You can buy beers inside the main store and go to the side for a side part of spirits. Pharmacy: There's a pharmacy and section with over the counter goods. THey offer the Top Care brand and the normal brand. Meats: You can buy almost every meat- hint, if you sometimes come in the morning, you can find discounted meats but still good quality. Fish can be a little pricy- I tend to lean towards Costco for my fish, but everything else is good. Dairy: Wegman's yogurt tends to trend towards the tart taste- so if you like sweeter varieties, then you can add your own sugar/jam. Eggs and milk are ok priced. I've had a hit/miss with the milk here- sometimes it goes bad faster than others. International Grocery: They do a pretty good job here providing the necessary things needed to make most goods. The prices may be 1$ more than the original ethnic store, but the goods are authentic. You can pick up the original brands of garam masala, soy sauces, European goods etc here for a fair price. IF you can't find more obscure spices, then hit up Asia Food Market or the Indian market right on west Henrietta outside of Rustic Village. read more

I only stop here when I'm in the area and need something. Usually I'm running errands on lunch and want a quick bite. But I definitely prefer the Calkins Road location to this one, their layout seems more convenient for me. Since they are located right across from the mall it can be overcrowded and tough to get a parking spot. Iv'e seen a few car accidents here.... park further away from the entrance for safety and park to leave. (so you don't have to back up) I do like that the seating area is really close to the bakery department and the coffee shop. There always seems to be a good selection of different flavored coffee available too. I recommend the Jamaican me crazy! read more

I hate grocery shopping, really, truly hate it. But Wegmans is the remedy to my grocery shopping blues. Something about the energy of this place ignites my spirit and leads me through the battlefield of aisles and angry soccer moms. Wegmans is an experience. I don't go merely for the groceries, I also love their prepared foods. As a kid my mom would go to the old Wegmans on Mt. Hope Ave (which has now been demolished and is a parking lot for U of R / Strong). That Wegmans wasn't like the massive ones in the burbs, but I really like it also. I used to take the goodies that Wegmans offered for granted. I now realize that there's only one grocer like Wegmans and they are golden in my book. read more

Wegman's is one of the worst grocery chains I've ever had the displeasure of shopping at. That's a sad statement considering I've been to Walmart's in Alabama. Besides the rotting produce and discolored meat, their store policies are ridiculous. You can't even have a child with you when purchasing alcohol. A dated store, but somehow I always seem to end up visiting it when I'm even remotely in the vicinity. Its proximity to RIT means I was there frequently while in school, including the many days that my best friend and I would get out of class and head to this Wegmans location for our fix of Chinese food from the wokery. Even now, almost 10 years later, I'll go to pick him up from the ROC Airport when he comes back to visit the area, and this Wegmans location is one of the first places we visit. The parking lot can be a bit chaotic, so I tend to park a bit away from the main store entrance(s). The layout of the inside of the store also feels a bit "dense", at least to me... though I can find what I'm looking for more often than not. The staff members at this location are welcoming and consistent. TL;DR It's an oldie but goodie with quality product. As far as Wegmans stores go though? This Hylan Dr. location is never going to be the prettiest girl at the party. read more

An easy to navigate store and they pretty much have everything you want. Be aware that certain things you can get on the regular at the Pittsford location they only have here during the holidays. They have a small floral department good deli, charcuterie, good bakery and etc. staff is always cool and helpful. The bottle return has a separate place from the actual store. Despite its rather prominent location in a horrifyingly suburban landscape, this is really not the most impressive Wegmans. It's reasonably manageable due to its smaller size and retro design, but lacks many of the amenities one finds at a larger Wegmans. However, they did have a particularly comprehensive assortment of produce when I went. I've heard that Calkins Rd is the superior Henrietta Wegmans, but I haven't yet been there to confirm. read more

I keep reviewing Wegman's, and I keep giving them five stars. It's not a coincidence. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure, it's basically a cheap Whole Foods. And yes, the prices at Whole Foods ARE the main problem with that place. Make it affordable, and it's basically a dream. Also, the staff is treated well by the company, and in turn they will treat you well. I have never in my life had someone so interested in helping me find pinenuts. All this goodwill is contagious. I overheard a staff member tell a customer he could find honey in Aisle 10B, and he very effusively said, "Bless you, God bless you my child!" Once one of the chain's crown jewels, this store is a comfortable anachronism recalling the halcyon days of the 80's & 90's. I suspect the reason why this store hasn't been supersized yet is due to the old axiom... volume, volume, volume. This is a highly trafficked location since it is in the heart of Henrietta's swirling retail vortex. Still, I like to pop in here from time to time because it IS so near other stores i patronize... and having once served time here doing Market Research in the 80's, I'm very familiar with the store's layout and can make a quick trip here and then pop over to check on Pat Tobin's Whitehouse Liquor, which is cavernous and quixotically NOT that busy. This store is my second favorite, but I went to RIT so probably partial to the fond memories. It's conveniently located to everything in Henrietta, and is easy in and out of. The selection is a little different from the Pittsford location (I use the most) but still has everything I need. The take out area seems to be just as big, but does not have the Taco bar :( lol Also there are a lot of students, and younger people at this location so there is congestion when you immediately walk in due to the layout of take out. If you like Wegman's you will probably like this location, fresh food, good selection, excellent customer service, and fair prices. read more

When you can walk in and have access to freshly made deli sandwiches, italian food, chinese food, pizza, bakery items and chef made sushi, you know you are in the right place. Wow, I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet because I shop here all the time. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the super Wegmans stores but it does a really good job of being a good regular sized Wegmans location. I can get in, get my volcano roll, red bell pepper hummus, Dove ice cream bars, and specialty tea, and get out with less stress than if I went to one of the monster parking lots of the other locations. The staff there also does a good job and seems to take pride in what they do. Also, importantly, THEY ACTUALLY MAKE SURE THEIR HAND SANITIZER DISPENSERS AREN'T EMPTY unlike some of their neighboring stores *cough, cough* ALDI *cough, cough.* As the puppet from Crank Yankers would say, don't change! #ThankfulThursday read more

If it is a comparison between all the Wegman's in the area, this one will definitely be the Biggest Loser ( and it's not a winning title); the other franchises at Pittsford, Calkins road and East ave are much better. On another note, It is ironic that Wegman's is always ranked among the best supermarkets in the country, but in my opinion, one can find much better deals in Trader Joe's and the staff at Trader Joes is always friendly and helpful just as much, if not more than at Wegman's! But there is something about Wegman's, specially around the holidays that makes it irresistible, that is not the case when it comes to the Marketplace one though. read more

This is an older Wegmans but still has all the amenities of a newer one. They have a great hot bar with a lot of options, great cheese shop, and a good layout to the store. The aisles are wider (as an older store would have) and you can actually get in and out of the store in a reasonable amount of time. With the nearest Wegmans not far away, and being a very new version, this Wegmans gets less traffic. The parking lot is a bit crazy to get in and out of with the layout, but it still isn't as bad as East Ave Wegmans. read more

Wegmans is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm totally for serious. Without Wegmans, I don't know how I would have survived my four years up in Rochester. Sure, I can get my groceries from Walmart or Tops, but it's not Wegmans. It just wouldn't be the same. And this specific Wegmans location has been a place where I have spent countless hours shopping for all the necessary things a college student could need or want. Whether I made my trip here during the day or late at night, I have always had good memories about this place (except for that one time... I stopped by Wegmans on my 21st birthday and tried to buy beer but got rejected because I hadn't gotten my new ID in the mail yet, despite the fact that my old ID had my birthdate on it AND wasn't even expired. I was pretty riled up about that one. But I still love you Wegmans). They offer such a wide variety of products here. You can pretty much find anything you'd ever want. And probably then some. They have everything from groceries to toiletries to kitchen items to hot foods (Americanized Chinese food by the pound, salad bar, olive bar) to deli meats to dog food to flowers to books to cards to... I can go on and on and on. The Wegmans brand is great also! All the pastas and sauces that I bought from Wegmans were always the Wegmans brand and they are just as good as the brands you see in the commercials, if not better. And the people who work here are so friendly! I love it. Wegmans has been voted year after year as one of the top Fortune 500 companies to work for because they treat their employees so well and it really shows in the customer service that they provide. Did I mention that they serve some great subs here too? Oh whaaat. I didn't? Well, they do. And they're delicious! Maybe not as good as DiBella's, but it's pretty up there. First of all - why the heck isn't there a wegmans on Long Island?! Every time I am upstate this is a necessary stop and this location did not disappoint. We were able to find everything we needed and more, and the beer selection was MASSIVE. I also grabbed some sushi and Chinese from the hot bar and they were both delicious. Me being from Michigan I have never heard of this place. Pepper and I were on a mission to bring a cake to a gathering. We were told that a simple cake would do. We stopped at a couple places along the way like Meijers and one other place I think was called Topps or something and their cakes looked ok but I we decided that it would have been in our car too long. We stopped in the area to look for a place to eat a quick lunch and Pepper said let's go in this place. This is not like any grocery store I've been in. They've got a buffet with Chinese, Indian and other types of food... "can we eat here Pepper??", "I don't want to eat in a grocery store", Pepper replied. Boo. Ok, where the cakes were the people who made them were not hidden behind the wall but were in plain view, that is kind of cool. I asked for the cake we picked to have something written on it and instead of taking it and disappearing for 15 minutes she whipped out a cake writing implement in .002 seconds and wrote expertly everything we asked without a blinking in under 10 seconds. Masterful. These people are polite and helpful. Later at the gathering someone said, "yeah Wegmans, is very very good. They are well known for good stuff" Pros: The caked btw was a winner. The frosting was way better than your normal grocery store frosting and the cake was about the same price. Service is great and the prepared food there looked real good. Cons: They had a great beer selection but it seems these people are allergic to wine. I spotted like 3 different wines to choose from. Unless there is another section I missed that was it! These people like their beer. UPDATE: James S. notified me that the state of New York does not allow grocery stores to sell wine! What I probably saw in there were some non-alcoholic wines. No worries about the wine because James S. tells me, "...Wegman's has an amazing wine store called Century Liquor and Wine in the same shopping center as the Pittsford Wegman's." read more

This Wegman's is in the center of the thousands of of stores in Henrietta. This particular location is in the plaza across the street from the MarketPlace Mall. Although it's not the biggest or best Wegmans in the Rochester Area, the chain is very consistent so you can be assured a full Wegmans experience regardless. In case you haven't figured out, Rochesterians love their Wegman's and hold the chain in very high regard. Although Wegman's is a chain it's a relatively local chain with only a few locations outside of the upstate NY area, they've won numerous awards as a store and until 2006 was still overseen by Robert Wegman. Since his passing the chain hasn't changed a bit. Most Wegman's including this one is open 24 hours a day making the convenience miles above and beyond it's competitors. Wegman's continues to have the best produce, the cleanest/nicest floor plan, a fantastic bakery and prepared food section, a huge seasonal/houseware isle, an award winning food magazine and books with top notch photography, and overall a fantastic selection of nearly every food you might need. True you can save more money shopping at Super WalMart or Topps but you're completely missing out and just aren't going to get the same quality or service. read more

Wegman's are widespread around this area so coming across this one was a nice find. Much like the other Wegmans I usually visit, they carry the same food and brands which all taste well and delicious and also fill me up when I eat to much of it. However, the prices are fair, not too cheap but not so overly expensive. The layout here is older on the inside but it's still large enough to contain aisles of serenity and happiness that comes with the joy of opening up the doors into a Wegmans store. read more

Wegmans, I go back and forth about whether I love them or Hate them. On the one hand they have a lot of yummy food, both groceries and prepared foods. On the other hand they are far and away the most expensive place to buy food. Aldi's is cheaper, Price Right is cheaper, public market is much cheaper. The prepare food is also kind pricy. They charge more than dunkin doughnuts for baked goods, more than bakeries for bread, more than pizza places or sushi places charge for their pizza and sushi and more than any sub shop charges for a sub. The main thing wegmans is selling is conviience. Too much processed food and too much focus on money for me to really enjoy Wegmans any more. They are a step above Wal Mart as far as being a ood company go, but just a step. I stopped in for deodarant on my way to aldis, and I did check out prices but I know where I can get fresher food for less. If your in a rush, or need some specielty stuff or just looking for a place to have lunch with a bunch of people with varied tastes, Wegmans is a great store. If you have just a little more timeany of the others are more worth it, especially the market. read more

Never have I ever loved a grocery store so much. I have spent countless hours there in my four years in Rochester but I love that they are so supportive of dietary restrictions. Many of the items that are Wegman's brand are labeled with allergen warnings, even gluten free which is relatively new. Being on a strict no gluten, lactose, nuts, citrus or shellfish diet can be tough, but Wegmans has made it so easy for me to find tasty, nutritious food that is affordable and for that I cannot thank them enough. Seriously consider this place if you have allergies because their labeling can quite literally save your life. I know that some of their other items are a bit pricey but for options they stock in what I require, I'm willing to pay a few extra pennies over Walmart or Tops price. The cashiers are always friendly and if I ever have trouble finding something, the nearest person stocking the shelves has usually walked me over a few isles to the location I needed. I love that it feels like a small community in there where everyone is looking out for me. read more

Wegmans is a Rochester tradition and is expanding to several of the surrounding states. I love that Wegmans contracts with LOCAL farmers to bring in seasonal fresh produce. You can buy corn or peas from just down the road. Very nice. I worked for Wegmans back in the 90's and they consistently rank high as a good employer. I certainly liked working there. Their store brands are as good or better than national brands, plus they find unique items such as pan searing flour. Cool stuff like that. Fantastic cheese selection, as well as meats and of course the produce! Update: Weggies is now open near Worcester, MA! Hell yeah I'm driving in from RI! Go early though, place gets BUSY!! read more

This is like the one place I miss after graduating college and moved to the big city. If you live in Rochester you know where to go on Friday night. Wegmans is a place to see people and be seen. (I know its sad) Food quality here is constantly amazing, you can always count on them on customer service as well, unlike bigger chain stores, (think targat, tops). There's a reason why everyone who's been there invariably raves about Wegmans. Always open, great selection, good prices, excellent service. Their commitment to local farms is great - they have a board at the entrance listing which produce came from which local farm each day. And their prepared foods are excellent - especially the subs. Nowadays, I personally find myself going more often to the newer (built 2008), bigger Wegmans a few blocks away on Calkins Road, also in Henrietta, because it has an café section with indoor and outdoor seating and free WiFi. But the Hylan Drive Wegmans still deserves mention for their excellent customer service. I've come in on crutches with a broken leg at 2 AM, to be greeted by courteous workers eager to help me out. And when they once misplaced an order of mine, not only did they give me a $10 gift card as an apology, they offered to personally deliver it to my door. You wouldn't expect this level of customer service from a chain supermarket! It's clear Wegmans as a chain makes customer service a top priority. read more

Oh Wegmans, how I do love you. I am incredibly biassed toward this location because of my feelings of nostalgia from graduate school.
