The instructor came on time, and even though I was the only one signed up that day he still attended to my skills and answered all my questions. The instructor was very helpful, highly knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor to lighten things up, as well as threw in a few questions about real-life situations we could encounter, which isn't even mentioned in the AHA manual! If you miss a question or a step in one of the skills, he doesn't hold it against you (like a lot of other instructors I've encountered). Instead he facilitates learning and makes sure you know why it's important for you to know what you're doing. Overall, I highly recommend this place. A+

CPR Saturday was GREAT!…read more My daughter Brianna found this event and then recruited other family members and friends. We ended up with a group of 8! This was held at the King Community Center and it was a sell out event, even though it was free. We came early and had to park on the street due to the number of participants. Not only did we learn CPR, but we learned about being prepared for a disaster and some other basic first aid. The instructor was extremely funny, especially when he did his little routine about not kissing your victim during CPR and coming at them like a Great White Shark instead (something you definitely have to see). Thanks Red Cross for a great presentation, great information and the complimentary training manuals and bags. This FREE event was very helpful. I'll be back next year. (On a lighter note... when we were practicing "rolling" our victim and it was my turn to be the victim... I think my husband molested me. I had to break out of my "role" and rat him out. LOL. 1 word- TRAUMATIC. I literally just had my skills test for BLS at this branch and I am still…read moreshaking from fear and disappointment. Everything was going so well when all of a sudden an identified male repeatedly tried to forcibly get in to the testing room! I ignored the first attempt, thinking that this person was mistakenly trying to get accesa way too early for his test. But the second he started banging the door, I started panicking. So I repeatedly shouted so he'll know that someone is still inside the room. I tried my best to compose myself and finished the test. I guess, the person ended-up leaving after his failed attempts as I have not seen anybody when I finally stepped out of the testing room. Called the 800 # but didn't really feel the concern from the representative at all. She said that they will check the cameras around the area and investigate. I left the place exhausted from multiple tries of CPR because of unneccesary interruptions. I have been going to STS for years now but I have never experienced this in any other location. I suggest to please consider the safety of your clients and make it as a priority, especially knowing that everything is now all automated.
