I went to community college and struggled I didn't think I was going to do anything and my education was going to take forever. I was interested in dental and thought to just go for it. It was hard at first. I had a bad attitude towards everything and didn't feel confident in myself. I wanted to quit the first month and go back to trying to figure out where I would go next. But my teacher mrs.Audra didn't let that happen. She talked to me one on one about my attitude and how she believed I was Better then how I was acting. If It wasn't for her I wouldn't of been a leader in my class, earn the highest GPA I ever had, and been able to have the career of my dreams. I never would've thought I would see myself in such a good place. Blake Austin brought so much of myself out and made me a better person. I will always stay and give back to this school. I want to thank mrs.Audra from being the best teacher I could ever ask for. Ms.sam for having my back during all the crazy things going on while I was on extern and mrs. Melyssa for helping me even when i wasn't her student. I want to thank Eric Grayson for calling me all the time telling me I have to come to this school and helping me be the best student ambassador I could be. These are just a few of the staff at Blake Austin that made me the successful dental assistant I am today. If your interested in starting a career in dental. They don't help with nothing the only good thing was they brought a new teacher in who was a former student and she was great help but other than that this school SUCKS BIG TIME. **An Amazing Program with Instructors and Staff Who Truly Care!**…read more I am so grateful to be part of the Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) program at CalRegional Pasadena. Honestly, this program has been such a blessing, and I cannot say enough good things about the instructors, staff, and everyone who goes above and beyond to help their students succeed. **Mrs. Esmeralda Nario** is an absolutely amazing instructor! She knows how much I appreciate her because I tell her all the time! She genuinely goes above and beyond for her students. She creates helpful videos, gives up her own time to provide extra lab practice, and helps us prepare for the AMCA certification exam. She gives us real-life experiences, makes learning hands-on, and finds different ways to help us understand the material. You can tell she genuinely cares about our success, not just as students but as future healthcare professionals. She wants us to understand what we are doing, why we are doing it, and how to do it correctly out in the field. I am so thankful to learn from a woman who puts so much heart, dedication, and effort into teaching us. **Mrs. Christy Bocanegra** is another amazing instructor who brings years of real-world experience into the classroom, particularly her experience in emergency care. She does a wonderful job explaining the material and sharing what healthcare is really like in the field. Her experiences help us connect what we learn in class to real-life situations. She is approachable, willing to help, and makes herself available when students need guidance. Having instructors who can teach from both knowledge and experience makes such a difference! **Michael Romero**, our skills instructor assistant, is also wonderful! He is great at explaining procedures, demonstrating skills, and helping students understand what they are doing. He also supports the phlebotomy students and our CMA class. He is willing to help us practice hands-on skills, even allowing us to use him as a patient when needed. The instructors don't just tell us when something is wrong; they explain why it is wrong and how to correct it. That kind of teaching helps us learn, improve, and become more confident in our skills. **George, our externship manager**, is also appreciated. He is understanding, straightforward, and honest with us. I appreciate having someone who communicates clearly and helps us navigate the next step in our education and career journey. I also want to recognize the wonderful staff at **Twilight Adult School: Mr. Cruz, Mr. Slominski, Mr. Ruben, Miss Jenny, Miss Norma, and Miss Maria.** They are all kind, helpful, and willing to go above and beyond for students. They provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can ask for help, work on your schoolwork, get guidance with your resume, and receive support as you navigate your educational and career goals. They help you think about your own life experiences and how you can use them to strengthen your resume and move forward in your journey. One thing I really appreciate is that the doors are open for students who are willing to reach out and take initiative. You have to put in your own effort, communicate, and advocate for yourself, but there are people here who are willing to help guide you in the right direction. They want to see you succeed, and that is something special. I am also grateful for all the other staff members I haven't mentioned individually. There is so much hard work, dedication, patience, and effort that goes into helping students succeed, and I truly appreciate everyone who contributes to making this program what it is. **My biggest takeaway is that this program is more than just getting a certificate. It is about learning, growing, gaining confidence, developing real-world skills, and preparing yourself for what comes next.** The hands-on experience, the willingness of the instructors to explain things, and the support available to students make this experience meaningful. Most importantly, I thank God for placing me here. Sometimes you look back at your journey and realize that certain doors opened for a reason. I genuinely feel that being here is part of God's plan for me. Everything is aligning in a way that reminds me why I started this journey in the first place. If you are considering the CalRegional Pasadena CMA program, I encourage you to give it a chance, show up willing to learn, ask questions, practice your skills, and take advantage of the resources available to you. Your success also requires your own effort, but having instructors and staff who genuinely care makes a tremendous difference. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity, for the people God has placed in my path, and for everything I am learning along the way. Thank you, CalRegional Pasadena and Twilight Adult School, for investing in your students and helping us work toward a better future!

Don't waste your time or money. I went into this school with high hope's and every excited to start…read moretraining for HVAC. Not even a month into it and I was regretting and dragging my feet to in everyday. My 1st instructor taught use more about his personal life then the actual subject. Didnt follow the way he was supposed to teach us whiched caused a big issue for those who were going to go into the next class. He passed everyone regardless. Had a motor project and passed us all even though none of us got the motor to work. He didnt really even try to get it running. You don't learn in the traditional way. You don't learn from A-Z. They will throw you in wherever the class is currently at. So you maybe learning the very end of the book before you even learn the beginning of the book which is bad if you are completely new to the subject and don't have any knowledge or experience. You don't jump into HVAC right away which is normal. You'll be doing electrical theory but my instructor didn't even go over HVAC electrical. I was learning more how to be an electrician then HVAC technician. Once I got into HVAC I was told in was going to take my certification test at the end of that month. Which is beyond stupid. They gave me a study packet to help prepare me for the test. By the time I had to take the test I failed of course but wasnt worried. Was told i had 3 attempts to take the test. The very next day after I took the 1st test i was told to take it again, and again I failed. The day after the 2nd test I was told to take it again and use the study packet because the head of the campus wants us to pass. Probably to give him a bonus or something like that. Well I'm not going to pay them to cheat on my future. I tried to talk them but the head of the campus "wasn't in today". I tired to call and kept going in to talk to him about why they wanted me to cheat. But kept getting the same response. I called them and told them I was dropping out because the cheating was the last straw. Then it seemed like they actually cared about my problem. I finally got calls back from the school and told them why I was leaving but the lady seemed not to really be paying attention and wanted me to go in and sit down with the head of the campus. I wasn't going to waste my time with them anymore. Said in was going to go in but didn't. I told them about it and they didn't seem to care until I left.

Hey Everyone!!!! OMG…read more- so today I had to re-exam to renew my CNA license. Which was a bummer, because I did not know how to obtain the correct CEU's. I was so nervous, because I haven't took this state exam in 2 years, and I did not know if it was going to be with others, a large size class or anything... just going in blind. I remember when I had took my exam 2 years ago for the first time, I was with my classmates. However, I got here very early. I was the first to arrive. Later, I was greeted and welcomed by a beautiful nice woman name Mrs. Drusilla. She opened up at Vasco Career College, and she then opened the for for me and told me to come inside to have a seat. I was so nervous you guys, and she was very nice it sort of soothed my demeanor. I then checked in with her to begin my written exam first, I explained to her how nervous I was and this was for my renewal. She literally turned to me and looked in my eyes, and stated, " you will be fine ". I honestly felt like this was a sign from god. I then took my exam, in a very quiet room, she went over everything for me in full detail. The rooms were spacious, clean and organized. After, it was time to take my skills exam. Again, y'all, very nervous and I sat in another room, (room C ), while another student finished their skills exams. Once, this student was close to finished, I was asked to be the patient for them. I was introduced to my Proctor, she was so sweet and pleasant. Her name was Mrs. Bella, she reminded me of a sweet family member you just hug when you see them. After, I helped the other student, it was my turn, my pulse was going a 1000x per sec. She told me to calm down, again, nice and pleasant. I finished and felt so good about my outcome with taking both my exams here just due to their personalities and how nice they were. This helped me in ways they will never know I needed, just them being kind. I have not received my results yet, or do not know if I passed, but I wanted to share with everyone a great place to come take you exams and also.... * As I was leaving, Mrs. Drusilla heard me state I was renewing my CNA license and she informed me on next time, what to do in order to receive my continuing education credits, to qualify for approval from California Department of Health. THEY HAVE A WEBSITE, www.cnabase.com ONLINE, and they offer the in person CEU's in person at their school. You guys I could have cried right there. Renewing my license was the hardest thing ever for me, and I felt like it should have not been. I asked everyone and no one could give me the correct information on where to go or how to obtain your continuing education credits. So, I want to share with everyone so they do not go through what I went through, the panic, stress, and anxiety on having to take the state exam over.... you can take these CEU's with them!!! DON'T WALK, RUN TO THEIR CAMPUS.. THEY OFFER SEVERAL OTHER CLASSES AS WELL, CHECK THEM OUT!!!!

I took the evening class because that's the only way I was able to attend class while juggling with work and being a mom. My instructor Bianca was amazing! She guided me and encourage me to do my best especially when I was close to taking my NHA exam. Bianca provided all the resources that I needed when it comes to my assignments, labs, and my exam. After graduating from the program, I was assigned to a clinic for my externship and my instructor also have been keeping in touch with me while I was in my externship. I couldn't have done all of this if it wasn't for my instructor and Mrs. Dru who also went above and beyond, most especially she was so happy for me that I was able to complete my externship. I highly recommend enrolling in Vasco Career College for anyone who is starting out in the medical field.

The program is accredited, which is great. Dr. Suhad is an amazing professor. She is down to earth and just brilliant. I couldn't imagine learning about sonography from anyone else. Melissa, my clinical coordinator, is very encouraging and I appreciate all of her help during my clinicals. I want to be 100% transparent about my time here at SUI so I will also speak about some things that can be improved on. I believe that better communication and full transparency will take this program to the next level. I think that the amazing staff, like Dr. Suhad and Melissa, are taking on a lot of responsibility and if their burden was shared with possibly more staff, the program would be so much more amazing. There are a few other kinks not worth mentioning but I know that SUI is already done some steps to make the next cohort's experience better than what mine was so I know they are very well capable of greatness. Nonetheless, my time here at SUI was/is truly remarkable. I would recommend it if you are seriously as passionate about sonography as I am.

Textbook not included (I have a physical MA Textbook available for sale for this class, if anyone wants to buy it off of me lmao! Not kidding either!) Navy Blue scrubs only is the uniform color you'll need for the class. My instructor was Ms Nina, although we were able to meet and be taught by the then, CalRegional Manager but now Instructor again, Melony for our class for a few days. Melony is a great instructor for the few days we had her. She taught us a lot. She is also very approachable and it was easy to get ahold of her. She was always responsive when I needed to get in contact with her towards the end of my class when she was placing me for my Externship. I was actually very lucky to be apart of the last of her students she placed for Externship before she stepped down as manager and became an Instructor again. Now Kathi is the current CalRegional manager. Let's get back to my class, as I said my Instructor was Ms Nina and I can't say enough good about her. She is the best! She's honest and open, her teaching methods are very hands on. She's funny as hell and super relatable too! She gave us a lot of insight on what to expect in the real world and couldn't stress safety enough! Our class was small, but made the learning experience all the more better. She taught us all so well and really made the time to help each one of us to be successful and absorb and understand what she was teaching us. Healthcare and the world in general need more people like Ms Nina! Thanks to her, I scored so well on my AMCA Exam and feel more confident than ever in my ability to be an amazing CMA. Note for future students: get all your prerequisites in by the first week! (Except for the drug test obviously, but at least pay for it and upload your receipt) Don't wait until midterm. Get it done by the first or second week. That way when it comes time for Kathi to place you at your externship, you can get placed sooner rather than later. I did all my pre reqs by the first week and got my externship start date for 3 days after my last day of class. If you wait til last minute to upload all your pre reqs and you'll end up being placed at externship later, because CalRegional technically has up to 60 days to place you. Also, pay your tuition in full so that way once you finish your externship and email your booklet to CalRegional you can immediately get your Certificate! If not, you don't receive it until you're paid in full.
