Didnt follow the way he was supposed to teach us whiched caused a big issue for those who were going to go into the next class. He passed everyone regardless. Had a motor project and passed us all even though none of us got the motor to work. He didnt really even try to get it running. You don't learn in the traditional way. You don't learn from A-Z. They will throw you in wherever the class is currently at. So you maybe learning the very end of the book before you even learn the beginning of the book which is bad if you are completely new to the subject and don't have any knowledge or experience. You don't jump into HVAC right away which is normal. You'll be doing electrical theory but my instructor didn't even go over HVAC electrical. I was learning more how to be an electrician then HVAC technician. Once I got into HVAC I was told in was going to take my certification test at the end of that month. Which is beyond stupid. They gave me a study packet to help prepare me for the test. By the time I had to take the test I failed of course but wasnt worried. Was told i had 3 attempts to take the test. The very next day after I took the 1st test i was told to take it again, and again I failed. The day after the 2nd test I was told to take it again and use the study packet because the head of the campus wants us to pass. Probably to give him a bonus or something like that. Well I'm not going to pay them to cheat on my future. I tried to talk them but the head of the campus "wasn't in today". I tired to call and kept going in to talk to him about why they wanted me to cheat. But kept getting the same response. I called them and told them I was dropping out because the cheating was the last straw. Then it seemed like they actually cared about my problem. I finally got calls back from the school and told them why I was leaving but the lady seemed not to really be paying attention and wanted me to go in and sit down with the head of the campus. I wasn't going to waste my time with them anymore. Said in was going to go in but didn't. I told them about it and they didn't seem to care until I left.

Hey Everyone!!!! OMG…read more- so today I had to re-exam to renew my CNA license. Which was a bummer, because I did not know how to obtain the correct CEU's. I was so nervous, because I haven't took this state exam in 2 years, and I did not know if it was going to be with others, a large size class or anything... just going in blind. I remember when I had took my exam 2 years ago for the first time, I was with my classmates. However, I got here very early. I was the first to arrive. Later, I was greeted and welcomed by a beautiful nice woman name Mrs. Drusilla. She opened up at Vasco Career College, and she then opened the for for me and told me to come inside to have a seat. I was so nervous you guys, and she was very nice it sort of soothed my demeanor. I then checked in with her to begin my written exam first, I explained to her how nervous I was and this was for my renewal. She literally turned to me and looked in my eyes, and stated, " you will be fine ". I honestly felt like this was a sign from god. I then took my exam, in a very quiet room, she went over everything for me in full detail. The rooms were spacious, clean and organized. After, it was time to take my skills exam. Again, y'all, very nervous and I sat in another room, (room C ), while another student finished their skills exams. Once, this student was close to finished, I was asked to be the patient for them. I was introduced to my Proctor, she was so sweet and pleasant. Her name was Mrs. Bella, she reminded me of a sweet family member you just hug when you see them. After, I helped the other student, it was my turn, my pulse was going a 1000x per sec. She told me to calm down, again, nice and pleasant. I finished and felt so good about my outcome with taking both my exams here just due to their personalities and how nice they were. This helped me in ways they will never know I needed, just them being kind. I have not received my results yet, or do not know if I passed, but I wanted to share with everyone a great place to come take you exams and also.... * As I was leaving, Mrs. Drusilla heard me state I was renewing my CNA license and she informed me on next time, what to do in order to receive my continuing education credits, to qualify for approval from California Department of Health. THEY HAVE A WEBSITE, www.cnabase.com ONLINE, and they offer the in person CEU's in person at their school. You guys I could have cried right there. Renewing my license was the hardest thing ever for me, and I felt like it should have not been. I asked everyone and no one could give me the correct information on where to go or how to obtain your continuing education credits. So, I want to share with everyone so they do not go through what I went through, the panic, stress, and anxiety on having to take the state exam over.... you can take these CEU's with them!!! DON'T WALK, RUN TO THEIR CAMPUS.. THEY OFFER SEVERAL OTHER CLASSES AS WELL, CHECK THEM OUT!!!!

She guided me and encourage me to do my best especially when I was close to taking my NHA exam. Bianca provided all the resources that I needed when it comes to my assignments, labs, and my exam. After graduating from the program, I was assigned to a clinic for my externship and my instructor also have been keeping in touch with me while I was in my externship. I couldn't have done all of this if it wasn't for my instructor and Mrs. Dru who also went above and beyond, most especially she was so happy for me that I was able to complete my externship. The program is accredited, which is great. Dr. Suhad is an amazing professor. She is down to earth and just brilliant. I couldn't imagine learning about sonography from anyone else. Melissa, my clinical coordinator, is very encouraging and I appreciate all of her help during my clinicals. I want to be 100% transparent about my time here at SUI so I will also speak about some things that can be improved on. I believe that better communication and full transparency will take this program to the next level. I think that the amazing staff, like Dr. Suhad and Melissa, are taking on a lot of responsibility and if their burden was shared with possibly more staff, the program would be so much more amazing. There are a few other kinks not worth mentioning but I know that SUI is already done some steps to make the next cohort's experience better than what mine was so I know they are very well capable of greatness. As a working single mother, I invested $5,000 in this program hoping to build a better future for…read moremy family. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling unsupported and unfairly treated. I struggled with Physics and repeatedly sought help from my instructor, Tamara. After expressing that I felt behind, I was told that other students needed assistance and that she would try to get to me when she could. Rather than receiving the guidance I needed, I often felt dismissed. Toward the end of the program, I became seriously ill. During finals week, when attendance was not mandatory and students had been allowed to leave early, I stayed behind specifically to ask questions because I was committed to learning. On one occasion, I attended a meeting while traveling to a doctor's appointment and later received medical documentation supporting my condition. Despite this, I was written up for attending the meeting from my car and later for not wearing scrubs during an after-class meeting, even though I could not find a policy in the student handbook requiring uniforms for meetings outside scheduled class time. I was also required to write a one-page letter regarding the incident. What was particularly concerning was the apparent inconsistency in how disciplinary actions were applied. I observed other students arriving late to class without receiving the same level of disciplinary action, including formal write-ups or being required to write a one-page letter. This left me feeling that I was being held to a different standard. I also felt that my work was not evaluated fairly. Despite following assignment instructions, using the required ultrasound images, and incorporating the requested examples, I received only the minimum passing grade. Throughout the program, students are frequently reminded that instructors and program staff have significant influence over clinical placements and future opportunities within the profession. Because of this, I felt uncomfortable raising concerns or filing complaints while enrolled, out of fear that doing so could negatively impact my clinical experience or future success in the program. As a result, I remained silent about many of the issues I experienced. Throughout the program, I worked hard to balance full-time employment, motherhood, health challenges, and my education. Instead of receiving support, I felt that personal opinions may have influenced how I was treated. I later failed my final to which I blame not getting the support that I needed with half a point and I knew she had personal issues with me because she did not contact me with any support when I know she reached out to another student that had dropped out and gave her support so she had personal issues with me when little does she know that I was a struggling mother of two working full-time and trying to get through this program not fully understanding it and wanting help and never getting it . My experience left me disappointed and feeling that student success depended more on instructor preference than on effort and dedication. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this program. Definitely be careful. I have never been treated so horribly by a teacher in my life and I have been to a community college as well as a 4 year college, and when voicing my concerns the only reply I received was thank you for your concerns. Beware. So I hope Tamara feels proud of herself for ruining someone's future for personal unknown reasons. mind you I had done every assignment I could, every extra credit that was assigned, attended every study group I could to try and pass this class. beware if they decide they do not like you. They will make sure that they take your money and that you do not pass and proceed.

It's because of the short 2-day course I recently completed there. I love beer. So much so that I want to start making it myself. UC Davis Extension offers brewing courses ranging from beginner level all the way up to Master Brewer Certification. I took the Brewing Basics: Going Beyond the Kit course. Overall, it was excellent. The material covered was perfect for total beginners & those who have some home brewing experience. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable & delivered their information in an engaging manner. Class was held at Sudwerk with brewing demos done inside the operational brewery. Apparently, brewing courses aren't too common as there were other students who came from as far away as Texas & Ohio. Again, UC Davis Extension is an incredible resource & asset for Northern California. OK, enough review writing, it's time to make some beer!
