I took today my skills at this place, honestly that was the only place available and I was so nervous bc of all the bad reviews, I went there mentally prepared to have one of the worst days but I was in shock for the kindness, the guy in front door super nice, the woman named Leslie was the one evaluating me and let me tell you, I was shaking bc English it's not my first language so I was so afraid to forget my words, as I was explaining my skills she would walk me through and explain them to the point I was very confident with myself and with I was performing, the whole process was a very pleasant experience, I still don't know the results but i think I did good for how comfortable this lady made me feel Thank you so much! read more

I had a great experience at this testing center. I arrived early for my 9:00 AM appointment after taking the Amtrak, and from the moment I walked in, the staff was very kind, pleasant, and helpful. Check-in was simple and smooth. I asked about using the restroom after my commute and they kindly checked me in first, which I appreciated. I was next in line for my skills test, so the process moved quickly. The testing setup was organized and comfortable. I originally thought I would be in a room full of people, but it was just me, the evaluator, and my partner, which made me feel much more at ease. The evaluator was very professional and even allowed me to correct mistakes, which helped lower my stress. Everything went by fast and smoothly. After finishing, the staff even shared information about their home health classes, which was a nice touch. I felt very welcomed the entire time. I would definitely recommend this testing center. Don't let older negative reviews discourage you--it seems like they've made improvements and fixed past issues. read more

I would recommend taking your CNA exam at Qual-Ed. I could tell that the people who tested me wanted me to pass which is great. I noticed in a lot of other reviews people had a problem with the front desk lady, Chanel. Chanel was super nice and had a good sense of humor. It seems to me that those who had a problem with her must have been overly sensitive. That being said, it was a 4 hour wait to take the exam but to my knowledge that is pretty standard for most of the CNA exam locations. I took my CNA skills exam here a few days ago. I was scheduled for my exam at 8:00AM, and they ask you to come 30 minutes early, so I was there at 7:30AM. However, there's a sign on the door that says they don't open for testing until 8:45AM. So a whole bunch of us were just waiting in the cold for over an hour outside the door... Chanel was friendly and made sure we knew where to be/ what to do while waiting for our turns. I had my skills exam today and everything went pretty smoothly. I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about a particular worker here but she was super nice to me. The #1 thing people might be leaving out is that she told us we could use the bathroom, but we must keep it clean or they'll have to close it down, which made sense. I do agree though that the system that they have is not really effective. We were picked randomly, or for me I just came out immediately when the proctor called for anyone to come. First come first served might be better imo! As for the skills, I got washing hands, pulse, bedpan, feeding, and catheter care. My proctor was pretty nice and I was able to finished all my skills within like 15~20 mins max. However, I do wanna warn test takers to come prepared and really just be nice as possible and they'll be nice back (you get what you give). It really doesn't hurt to be extra respectful. read more

I took my skills test here yesterday with seven other people who were in the same program as me. We drove hours here all the way from San Jose and some from Santa Cruz. We thought it would be a first- come, first-served basis, but apparently they chose people to come in and test in a random order which was upsetting given we were the first ones there at around 8am (three hours before the doors even opened) and we weren't all done until about 3pm. When we got there, we were told we weren't allowed to have any drinks or bags on us even when we were standing in line and waiting to go in and test. It was 95F yesterday in Suisun City and they had us line up in front of the sun with no shade, no water, and only about 5 folding chairs for a line of over 20 people. Chanel was also extremely rude and was telling one of the other test takers that there were no bags allowed in, but then she saw it was her friend and said, "I'll make an exception for you!"... needless to say, favoritism has no place in healthcare. Thankfully, my friends and I were among one of the first groups to be brought in to the testing site, and I was one of the first to be tested. So at least we were able to sit in the AC (can't say much about the other people who were forced to sit outside in the sun for 2+ hours). My friends were forced to sit in silence just staring at the wall until it was their turn-- almost two hours after me. No water, no talking. Some girls were talking about using the restroom and Chanel came in with an overly passive aggressive smile on her face and threatened to kick them out. I will say, the only reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars is because of my evaluator. Knowing Qual-Ed's reputation, I walked in expecting the worst. But my evaluator was extremely kind, understanding, and professional. She was the only positive. My friends had different evaluators, and they all said the same thing: the evaluator was not even looking at them during their skills test. And then the evaluator proceeded to ask them if they did critical steps. How do you know if you weren't even paying attention? Other people told me they barely got started with their skills test before the evaluator auto-failed them and told them they didn't seem ready and to come back and retest without a refund. Before coming here and taking my skills exam, I knew it was going to be a bad experience just based on reading others' reviews, but I had no idea it would be THIS bad. Even when talking to others who tested here before, they have said "it was the worst experience of my life". After experiencing this and hearing all of this firsthand, it sounds like this testing site is farming $80 from nervous and abused (from dehydration and heat stress) test takers and then just either kicking them out or failing them automatically after these people have waited in almost 100F weather without water for hours (does that seem like a good environment/headspace for people before taking a state test?). I'm just glad that I passed and that I won't have to come here again anytime soon. Bottom line: if you are patient and can take your skills test somewhere else, do that instead. Most of people who work here are miserable and on a power trip and will treat you like you're a cash cow. read more

I got a babysitter for the kids, filled up my gas tank, got all dressed up in my scrubs. And set out to Suisun at midnight. I'm a woman. Alone. In another city. And the facility was closed. So not only did I drive all the way out here for nothing. I also spent money on gas and a babysitter for the kids. I definitely do not appreciate the non-professionalism that this company has. read more

QUAL-ED - Nursing Schools Near Me - Suisun City, California

Imma keep it real, everyone there was really nice except the exam proctor Nella. If ur not interested in my experience: my advice is just show up at 8 so u can be the first to leave instead of waiting hours if u show up at 8:30. Also if u make a mistake during skills testing explain what you would have done. Anyways- I walked in she told me grab a # and I was just sitting there waiting for a long time, so I started doing research on my phone for the skills test I was about to take, she came in and threatened to kick me out going off on me and said if anyone is on their phones, they're gonna get kicked out acting very unnecessary. Keep in mind the exams started about an hour later and she hadn't told me prior about the phone rule. People were chit chatting quietly and she went off saying how ready she is just to end the day early and kick everyone out. The same thing followed 2 times more when one or two ppl were whispering extremely quietly and she went off worse each time. The entire session she was belittling everyone who didn't follow her supposed rules that no one even knew of. The whole vibe was so off when she was in the room and I could tell everyone was getting nervous and uncomfortable with her behavior definitely on some wack power trip. I would have given this place a 5/5 if she didn't act the way she did. like I said everyone there was really nice but she really just made me way more anxious and pissed off having to listen to her commands. Also, the skills take a long time especially if your not one of the first people there, you're just expected to sit in a quiet room with no distractions not able to talk to one another or do anything besides use the bathroom for literal hours which sucked but that's whatever. The nurse was very nice, the other dude at the front counter was kind and a cool dude, even the boss she seemed chill but fk nella. Aye still passed the exam tho. read more

I came here to take my skills exam only on August 20th. Originally, I registered for the exam at 9am, but Chanel called the day before to let me know that the exam wouldn't start until 11am. I appreciate how she called so I wouldn't have to needlessly wait an extra 2 hours, especially since I live a little over an hour away from this place. As for the exam itself, I thought the way they operated was a bit odd. Even though my instructors had warned that we could potentially end up waiting all day just to get called in for examination, I learned that the wait could be long because they test us in no particular order. So, just because we arrived 30 minutes before our exam doesn't mean we will be the first to get tested. I was kind of frustrated and annoyed during my wait because I didn't have anything to drink, and I was growing impatient that I had to wait around 2 to 2.5 hours. I thought that the exam was decent, even though I was super nervous. My proctor seemed pretty understanding of my situation. My advice for anyone who is taking the skills exam here, just take a deep breath and follow your proctor's instructions. As long as examinees are able to follow the proctor's instructions and have a solid understanding of how to perform each skill, then anyone can pass. read more

They won't let you use their restroom in there after you paid 80 to do a skills test drove 2 hours out wasn't allowed a bag or water in the building. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU CAN! i schdueled my skills exam for 9am and got a call the day before from Chanel that it wouldn't be until 11:30am. Why have a 9am option if it seems that it's constantly pushed back...? They had us waiting in the sun with no water mind you it's been HOT these days. We were moved to a room where there was no talking, no phones, no water, no food, etc and we had to wait between 2-3 hours staring off into LALALA land. My proctor was extremely rude. (I passed) But she wasn't paying attention to a single skill constantly asking me if I had checked this and that. There was one point where I was performing a skill while she had another group of 2 performing a different skill. It was so upsetting. There's no genuine care or attention towards you during this exam. I hope they can tighten up it just happens to be the closest to SJ but truly needs to be worked on. I knew my experience would be bad from hearing previous experiences but not this bad. read more

The admin "Chanel" was so unpleasant to deal with. She didn't let us the student who came for testing to use the restroom, kept redirecting us to a minimart in the complex. I had a terrible experience there but at least my evaluator was super nice. Can't say the same for everyone else there. It also wasn't a first come first serve basis. This place is a mess. I took my CNA skills test here. I showed up a half an hour before my scheduled test time as directed, but had to wait for over four hours to take my test. I was given no indication as to when I would be tested; we were seemingly called at random times. While waiting we were not to speak. We were allowed no devices, no reading material, and no food or drink. By the time I took my test I was exhausted, hungry, and dehydrated. All the facilitators I encountered were needlessly brusque and condescending. My test evaluator interrupted and chastised me throughout the exam. She corrected me for technique that had nothing to do with the state guidelines. I came in feeling confident in my skills, having prepared diligently. The way she conducted my test completely threw me off. Thankfully I passed, but this experience took a lot out of me. My test nerves were compounded by the unreasonable conditions and disrespect I experienced at this facility. What's more frustrating is that even if I had known what to expect from this site, it was the only option available to me when I signed up for my exam. Privatization at its finest. read more

I had an excellent experience with this facility. I did their skills refresher course 3 weeks in advance that prepared me very well for my skills exam. On the skills day, Chanel was very friendly, welcoming, and gave our group a nice pep talk to calm the anxiety and nerves. We had about 10 of us and unfortunately I had to go last. Which was fine because it gave me time to relax and gather my thoughts. I spent hours and hours preparing and practicing for the skills exam and everything went seamless for me. My skills evaluator, Veronica was great. Shes very supportive and genuinely wants you to succeed and pass. Just follow her instructions, take your time, and prepare well. And you will pass. I know everyone's experience is different and I can't speak for the bad reviews. My experience was great and if I could do it all over again I would. I tested on Friday 12/13 and I had a great experience. I think it's worth mentioning that I was able to use th restroom on my testing day, since some folks noted that they were not allowed. I just made sure to use it during check in, right before the testing started. Chanel helped get us all checked in and my Instructor was very nice and was very clear about what was expected of us. The Instructor watched two beds at a time, meaning she was listening to both teams of two at the same time. I was worried about this at first, but she was successful in multi-tasking. A couple times she thought I missed a step, but she just didn't hear me. I could also hear her in the bed nextdoor, gently prompting when a step was forgotten. However, I thiiiiiink that she did ask that tester to leave because she wasn't prepared, but I'm not sure, because I was busy testing. That really sucks, but I get why the facilty would do that. If you're clearly getting every other step wrong, or not even doing the Opening correctly, then some more studying is probably needed, instead of trying to test. They have so many folks to move through, that I understand why they would ask someone to just stop and come back when they're ready. I also didn't realize that Credentia randomly chooses what skills you do. I thought that the testing site did that. And my partner didn't get the same skills I got. My skills were hand washing, recording respirations, ambulate with a gait belt, partial bed bath of head and arm, and lie a patient on their side. I think we were all concerned about going over our 30min, but on the final skill, my Instructor let me know I had 14min left, so time turned out to not be a problem after all. One cruddy thing... there was alot of waiting for some folks. It was raining that day, so they told those who were not testing at the moment to wait in their cars. I would have just used that time to review my skills a bit more, but I was seen fairly quickly. When it was all over, I was very confident that I did well. It took 24hrs for my results to post and I passed. I'd highly recommend this place. They've got alot of students to get through and they do the best they can with what they've got. read more

If you are looking for a nursing school I highly recommend Qual-Ed Nursing School. The course was awesome this school offers day and evening classes which makes it so much easier for people that work during the day. The instructors are amazing if you don't quite understand something they actually take there time to explain it until you complete comprehend it. The course is affordable and they tell you what all you will need to be successful in your future career. Myra is awesome she is the director and is so welcoming always has an amazing attitude and smile. All the instructors have been CNA, LVN and RN so you will be learning from true professional at this school. The staff is super amazing Chanel is extraordinary at what she does always on point with her paperwork and she also guides you on what you need and where to go for paperwork that you will need for school and clinical purposes. Mrs. Terry and Mrs. Catalina are amazing instructors they truly go above and beyond to help you understand everything. During clinical's they are there incase you need something or just to remind you on how to do things correctly. You definitely can not go wrong with attending Qual-Ed school. You can take the course as young as 17yrs old if I'm not mistaken which is amazing specially for young people pursuing the medical field this is a great start. read more

My appointment was sent to me at 9 AM for the skills exam however, when I got there, I checked in and everything and I had to wait in a room other students took the written test while some other students we're in another room right next to us waiting to take the skills exam too (in which they probably arrived earlier than me since I got there at nine exact). They were calling people in random order, so I'm not sure if that seem fair to the longest honestly, I don't know why they put you as scheduled to be a 9 AM skills exam when I didn't even take it till 12:30 PM. They should really change that system and make it so that you can sign up for 1030 or 1230 that way you don't have to waste four hours staring at the wall, they didn't allow any bags no cell phones as they had to be turned off, which made it even more boring and we had to literally stare at the wall the whole entire time The only reason I gave this place another star was because my skills evaluator was really nice. Her name was Jain I believe or something like that. It was really quick. The skills that I got were hand washing, repositioning a patient, measuring and recording weight, catheter care and denture care. The test was easy however I just really don't like that they have you waiting for hours doing nothing. read more

They told the last five of us that there wasn't enough seats for us to all wait inside so they told us to either come back at 11 or to wait outside. What? If I could give 0 stars I would. I read the yelp reviews prior to my CNA Skills exam, so you can only imagine my surprise at how condescending and disrespectful the staff was. Chanel made all of the people who have paid $80-$120 dollars to be there and test feel as though EVERY question was a dumb question and she seemed annoyed to even have to help us. If you weren't already nervous walking into your exam, her condescending tone made you feel like it was going to be hard to pass. I recall one of the many remarks she made was, " No one likes to read, but everyone wants to be a nurse, right?" referring to one of the students who paid their money to be there and asked a simple yes/ no question. Chanel was completely unapproachable. Yelling at students who she hadn't told the rules to because they did not know about them. After my third and a half hour of waiting in the room to test, I got up to use the restroom and she was upset that I did not raise my hand, this was fine but she waited for me to come back from the bathroom to go into the waiting room and make an announcement that because we don't know how to raise our hands, we wont know how to follow directions when it comes to a patient. It was the most belittling testing experience I have ever had and EVERYONE who tested yesterday felt my pain. To them I would say I am so sorry that you had to experience that. The evaluator I had also said things like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?" "YOU CANT DO THAT" and so forth. I recommend NO ONE wastes their money to test here unless you don't mind being bullied the entire time. Calling someone about this on Monday. I was on the verge of tears for the three and a half hours I was there because it was so unpleasant. Please find another facility to go to for testing. read more

Can I give 100 stars???? I let my license almost expire and previously tested at Red Cross in 2018. If you've ever tested with Red Cross you know they are strict, cold and mean. I was SO nervous, thinking that this would be the same case- I was wrong! I was able to come to the refresher the day before the exam. Miss Myra is the best. We need more instructors like her. I wish I had done my initial schooling here. If you failed to get your CEUs in like me, make sure to come here to get a refresher and take the exam here. I did the refreshment course the day before my exam and they were amazing, went over everything, gave me tools to take home and practice etc. I love the school and the people are very accommodating, kind and are willing to answer all of your questions. I didn't receive my CEU's and had to re test. My friend told me about this place so i gave it a try. I also told another friend about Qual Ed and she tested the weekend before me and also passed. I must say this is by far the best place to take you state board test at. It was not intimidating at all, very small class room, we only had 10 students in my class that were re taking their state board. Instructors were absolutely amazing and very easy going. I was so nervous the whole time, and honestly there was no reason to be at all here. There were no card pulling for skills like the red cross test, they have their set skills that everyone does. I would definitely recommend Qual Ed to anyone that has to re take the state board test, for written or skills or both! I've had my CNA license since 2010 originally attended the Adult school and tested with ARC (American Red Cross) which I passed , but when I say they're strict they are over the top ! Unfortunately I didn't get all my CEUS for 2016.Recently I made the decision to Retest InOrder to keep my certifications. And I must say The evaluators and staff here are amazing , they're Nice , make you feel comfortable and most of all want you to pass . I'm so glad I made the decision to test here . I highly recommend it . Not only is it local but you won't be so stressed out wondering if you'll be embarrassed in front of a full class if you happen to not pass .
