You could tell that it was relatively new based on the structure. Besides the conference rooms there were rooms for nursing labs, which for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of attending nursing school, they're designed to give you somewhat of a realistic experience of what you might encounter while in an actual clinical setting dealing with patients/families/other providers. The facility was clean, temperature control was just fine, I wasn't hot nor was I freezing while in my meeting. In the conference room we were housed in its set up in sort of a pod formation where people sit in smaller groups of tables. One of the faculty from the university did have a specific term used for it but I don't recall what they called it. I was very impressed with the facility itself and the staff where also very helpful.

BUT generally speaking, the content is top notch and the professors are engaging, well prepared, and highly qualified. Sure, I took classes I wasn't especially interested in. But now, in my new career role, I'm well prepared because of each class in the MS-L program. Writing a yelp review seems like an oddball way to review a school or program, and I stumbled onto this accidentally while looking for something else related to BIMSON. When I saw the extremely negative review below, I felt inspired to balance out the low star count. I feel grateful to be a student at UCD, regardless of its few flaws.

It is a 10 week program that's financially affordable and you're able to complete even if you have a full time job, I know I did! You will meet with your instructor twice a week, one day you will do your classroom portion and the next day you'll be doing your practical/ lab portion with your classmates. Your instructor will help and guide you along the way, you will be able to find an externship which will help with your experience and in finding a job!

I even decided to e-mail one of the students that was tagged in a picture to ask her how she liked the program. She said she loved it and had nothing but good things to say about it. I think there are only 2 Assist to Succed programs as far as i know and one of them is in Oroville. So i am happy that there is one in Elk Grove, since that isn't too far from where i live. I decided to show up in person and ask questions and get more information. I didn't have a car at the time and the money, eventhough this is far cheaper than going to one of those other colleges. I wasn't going to sign up right away, but wait for the next class instead. Becky was really nice and explained how the program works and i left feeling good about possibly starting something new. However, i never did sign up for the program at that time. Here we are a year later. I went back 2 weeks ago with a friend of mine, because the both of us were considering becoming Dental Assistants, so she came along with me and we met up with Becky, the instructor. Again she answered all of our questions, showed us around and told us what all the program entails and what we have to look forward to. We even got a folder outlining what we will be learning, dress code, registration form etc. She's super sweet :) she gave us a card and told us we could feel free to contact her and ask her more questions if we had any. I am actually excited about this and know i could start a new career and just learning something different in general, which always exiting and a bit nervous. This time i will actually attend the school and my friend will too. We are actually going back this week with our filled out forms and down payment to secure our spot. We're from the suburbs, so the cramped space was a little getting used to. Education: This gets 5 stars!! The instructors worked magic. My son hated math, but after the summer, he had such a great head start and math came easy to him and loves math now. I was worried that they were rushing him, but they assessed him and kept on pushing him and made it fun for him to learn. He picked up new science and skills that we didn't expect. On Friday's they go on field trips. It is usually $10 more, but my son loved these field trips. Fun activities are on Fridays and do do art, science, and music throughout the day. Other than location, the only thing I don't like about this place is that the kids walk to the park during the day and in the summer time, it's super hot and this is probably why I won't put my 4 year old here this year. We'll just have my son come here in the summer. During the school year, I understand they have before/after school and they will drive the kids/pick up the kids. These officers must go out to state-licensed Community Care Facilities where they investigate complaints about facility-deficiencies, neglect or outright abuse on the client-populations residing in these facilities. For those officers entrusted to the specific investigations of Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs), and for the Chronically Ill (RCFCIs), California State University - Sacramento (CSUS) provides important subject-matter information that allows our officers to investigate these cases with a far better understanding of the demands placed on the licensed facility, on the staff, and what minimum standards for acceptable care should be maintained for the elderly client population residing at these facilities. In addition, there is a training requirement mandated by the State Legislature that our officers go through so many hours of training on these specialized subject-matter areas. THE SET-UP & CURRICULUM For the last five (5) years, I've enjoyed the experience of working with Dr. Osborn of CSU-Sacramento's School of Gerontology. She and her instructor staff have provided our CCLD officers with great curriculum and in-class training that has helped them get the knowledge base and hands-on skills they need to better interact with the facility staff and the elderly client populations. Other specialized modules also discuss dealing with family members of the elderly and being sensitive to their frames of mind, as well as other related issues dealing with end-of-life scenarios. Unfortunately, I needed to take the class on that date and could not reschedule. I had to scramble to find another CPR class (and the money to pay for it) in order to be hired on time for my job. I called in order to get a refund only to be told that it would take 6-8 weeks to receive my refund and they seemed perplexed as to why I could not reschedule. I found another class that was shorter, cheaper, and I didn't have to pre pay in advance. After spending 5 years at Sac State, struggling to find work after graduation I was extremely disappointed that they would take so long to refund my money when there was little to no notice that the class was cancelled. I DO NOT recommend taking CPR classes here as instructors are unreliable and their refund policy is unacceptable. Go to NorCal EMT in Roseville for cheaper, reliable classes.

I really hope they change the policy and procedures so that they can keep the good employees and maybe weed out the ones that are not so good. We have had lots of strangers in our home which has not been easy. The only upside to this is that we have learned a lot from this process. There are so many other companies out there for this particular therapy I would not recommend this one.
