Choosing to attend UEI College for the Medical Assistant program was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made. From the very beginning, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had every opportunity to succeed. What stood out to me most about UEI wasn't just the education, it was the people. Every single person I interacted with genuinely cared about the students and our futures. I want to start by recognizing Mrs. Anita Pai. She worked tirelessly helping me obtain my transcripts from my online high school. It wasn't a simple process and required her to jump through multiple hoops and go back and forth numerous times. Because of her persistence and dedication, I was able to begin the process of enrolling. Without her help and determination, I honestly may not have been able to start school when I did. I would also like to recognize Mr. Ricardo, who handled my student intake. His energy and enthusiasm were incredible from the moment I met him. He worked extremely hard to get everything processed and even managed to get me started that very same week. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, and his excitement made me feel confident and motivated about starting the program. My instructor, Miss B, deserves more recognition than I could ever put into words. She wasn't just a teacher to me, she truly became a mentor and friend. She didn't just teach what was in the textbook, she taught real-life skills and how to truly succeed in the medical field. She was patient, supportive, and always available whenever I needed help or didn't understand something. She believed in her students and pushed us to be our best. Without a doubt, she is the best teacher I have ever had the privilege of learning from. I would also like to recognize Nate, who always seemed to be juggling a million things but still made time to help students whenever they needed it. His willingness to step in and assist never went unnoticed. Most importantly, I want to give a huge recognition to Carlos. Carlos is the person you can go to for absolutely anything, and he will always find a way to help. He is incredibly knowledgeable, highly educated in the medical field, and extremely compassionate. What makes him stand out the most is how much he genuinely cares about the students in the Medical Assistant program and their future success. Carlos truly listens to students and values their thoughts, concerns, and goals. He is also the person who encouraged me to take the CCBMA certification exam, something I never believed I could pass. I honestly had no intention of even attempting it because I didn't think it was possible for me. Carlos believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. Because of his encouragement and support, I took the exam and I am now CCBMA certified. The fact that he is even helping me revise my resume on a Sunday shows the level of dedication he has to his students. Every single employee at UEI College has been incredible. The environment is welcoming, supportive, and full of people who genuinely want to see students succeed. They treat you like more than just a number, they treat you like family. UEI College didn't just give me an education, it gave me confidence, support, and a future in the medical field. The experience and the people I met there truly changed my life. I would give 0 if possible. This school is a JOKE. I've had so many issues with this school but as of lately my mother passed so I took leave and have heard nothing until today. They didn't call to see how I'm doing, offer counseling, or see if I'm ready to come back. They called for money. They called me to ask when I was able to make my next payment. When I first started I expressed concerns about me being able to pay due to my living situation, I was homeless at the time I did have employment so that I could find stable housing. I let them convince me that it would be no problem and that they had resources. When it came time and I needed those resources they were no help. I've been very open about my situation with them and they convinced me that they had people who could help. The ONLY helpful person to me was June and my instructor ms Mary. They showed me that I was more than my situation and that it does not define me. June and ms Mary are the ONLY reason I got as far as they did. They showed me that I wasn't just a money sign (barely had any) they treated me like an actual human. This school is terrible and Carlos and everyone else in there need to be fired and sued! Would still give zero stars if I could. Take my advice, when you talk/text anyone who works here, RECORD EVERYTHING. Use voicememo and record their words, document those texts, everything. Carlos who is in charge of student affairs will lie. Mike, Olivia, and all of the other career service advisors will lie. I did not ever go to my externship (they dropped me from the school in August, but I did not find out until September). The career service advisors claim they reached out to me everday from August to September, they never did. If I was dropped in August how could you promise to find me an externship site if I'm not a student there (again because I was dropped in August)??? They will lie, play in your face like everything is good when they don't even communicate anything with you or even amongst each other. The only thing that saved my behind was the voice memo recordings and the screenshots I had proving nobody reached out to me, nobody texted me back, nobody did a single thing they promised. I get it, they work with a dozen students a day, but to call me a liar (a student who doesn't get paid to be there but PAYS TO BE THERE...) claiming they never left me on read/delivered, that they tried calling me to do a drug test for a site I was never approved to be at. They only care about money, which is why they tried to beg me to finish my schooling and to re-enter the course after all of this time. They already confirmed with my that my refund check has been sent, my financial aid was sent back to the loaners and I don't owe them a dime and now that they know, that I know they are trying to get me to re-enroll for their own benefit. I enrolled in the DA program in May 2024 within my 6 months my teacher was fired and it was uncertain who our teach would be within that time frame we had to come into class just to sit and learn nothing, fast forward I got a stable teacher for the last 2 months of my course. I went out to extern completed my hours. Now about a year ago I enrolled and still having to check up on career services to see when my diploma will be ready and I'm hit with "they are changing the format so it's been difficult" . I don't know what other school has you checking up with them if your diploma/certificate is ready. I did not have a good experience at this school they have no real structure, but let it be about your school payment they are fast to let you know. I do not recommend this school. My experience overall, being a student at that school was amazing. The instructors and classmates were very nice, but after graduating there was not much help with anything afterwards. I wanna say it took me well over six months to almost a year to even receive a digital copy of my certificate. If I could give zero I would, i never recommend this school to anyone that asks me about it. There were very few teachers and staff at the career center that were actually helpful and did their job. Anyone else is rude and and not helpful. If a teacher tries to help students they will threaten to fire them. Some of the staff will out people financially in from of the class, which is so unprofessional and they preach HIPPA and professionalism. I had stopped working and told one of the Jenn's/jenny's about my sistuation and was worried about not being able to make payments. She told me I wouldn't have to worry about that. Then 2/3 month later I get texts and calls saying I owe such and such amount and will go into collections. I had to borrow money from my parents and pay that. Once I had finished my classes and hours. I contacted career services and was told I could go pick up my certificate/diploma as well as get it emailed but when I got there I was told by the lady next to Carlos office and Jen from payments room that I couldn't get it until I paid the remainder. Jen gave me such attitude and so I had to borrow from my partner for the remainder. As I waited outside her office she was giving another student an attitude about their payments but once she paid she was talking nice to her. Guess what? Once I walked in asking to pay, she was also talking to me respectfully. A lot of the staff will treat you badly until they get what they want from you. They only want your money they don't care about you and your education or careers. Also come to find out from a lot of people that's it's illegal for any school, including uei to withhold your diploma to receive and debt. Everyone I had met there had gotten dropped or left to figure out how to find a site for their hours and even sent to collections without notifying them. If you are enrolling or already enrolled always record conversations with anyone and keep at text/emails. read more

I'm going to college now for my RN and I wish I would've made this decision in the first place first of all such horrible people you have to deal with, with horrible attitudes that talk to you with such disrespect, I don't even understand how this place is still open!! if you look at these reviews, there's multiple people sharing their awful experiences. If that doesn't tell you something I don't know what will. They promised they would help me find a job when I graduated I called constantly for nine months after I graduated and no one would help me.. I would remind them that they are supposed to help and that they have a whole team of people that are supposed to work on finding graduates, jobs. They are no help whatsoever. They lie and cut corners about things. One lady told me that it was gonna be $9000 and then I would take out a $10,000 loan to cover it come to find out. I took out two different loans one for 9000 one for 10,000. Yes, you heard that right my mom even remembers the conversation we had with the lady and we were both under the impression it would be one loan not two!! The only person I had a good experience with was my former teacher and guess what?? She told me she left too. Please please please go somewhere else or just don't take a shortcut and go to college and save yourself from having to deal with this school! Cheap, cheap, cheap. Waste of money and a complete scam. How do you ask your own students to write a review on yelp for you? Whatever i'll give my honest review. Don't attend school here! I attended as a medical biller and coder then dropped out. They drop you in the middle of a class, meanwhile everyone's in different modules. Then they expect you to just know what's going on. Medical billing and coding was not for me and i'm glad I realized that soon enough to drop out 2 months in. However i thought it was a good idea to go back for dental assisting, which is not terrible this time around. I LOVE MY TEACHER. MS.G your the goat, she literally breaks her back for her students- in my opinion she is very under appreciated and she deserves way more then what that school does for her. There are a few cool staff on campus, Carlos is cool as well as Mr.Bell, the medical billing teacher. Why they got rid of Ms.Maribell the other medical billing teacher, don't know but they took a hard loss with that one. Ms.Erly's pretty cool also but everyone else is weird as hell and the school itself just wants your money. The school just wants your money and doesn't actually give a eff about where you end up or if you even actually get a job from there at the end of the day. They host bullshit events all month and make you use cheap computers in the LRC to do work. The school itself is ghetto as hell and unsupportive. The school reminds me of a public high school, they just let anyone in... creeps, weirdos, etc... just find somewhere else is my point, unless your actually down bad to the point of no return. Update: I spoke with Ms. Alanna, the person who commented on this post. She managed to get the ball rolling for me and I spoke with the Director of Student Finance for UEI, a Ms. Jenn Lo. The Private Education Loan is pro-rated. So from $7000, I owe about $750 for two weeks of a 10 month program. A bit steep for that duration, but I'm just happy that it isn't the full amount. Overall, despite the profuse apologies, consummate professionalism, and swift responses of both Ms. Lo and Ms. Alanna, I can't justify giving this school a higher review. It should not have taken this much stress and effort to resolve this matter. My comments on the school's behavior also still stand. The loan servicer should not have been so deceptive and UEI's Sacramento financial aid/front desk team needs to be more cohesive. If you decide to go anyway, I sincerely wish you the best of luck. Compare other schools BEFORE deciding to enroll here. I had to make a split second decision (last day of enrollment was on my request for information appointment) and I regret it. I called for something as simple as information on tuition cost for programs as I was interested in enrolling. When I asked a bird brain by the name of a guy named Canon (his last name) if he could try the extension of the person in the department before transferring me, he didn't... He transferred me. I called back and asked him to try the extension to make sure someone was available before transferring me and he asked for name and info to pass on. Once again, I asked if he could try the extension before transferring me because he didn't the first time. He put me on hold then returned asking for my information again. I asked him if all seven (I was told there are seven people in that department) were unavailable. He didn't answer my question. He said with an attitude that he needs my info. I told him I was asking a pretty straight forward question and again I asked if all seven extension s were busy. He said yes and I asked him for his name (to report my interaction with him). He gave me his last name and when I asked for his first name, he said who is this... Like he is at home.... I hung up and called back and of course he answers.... When I asked him who can I speak to to report his attitude. He danced around my question and even attempt to argue with me. Finally he told me to call whoever I want and I could call the same number back. Again, clearly I was dealing with a bird brain b/c I had to remind him that I just called the number back and he answered. If that wasn't an experience... He transfers me to a other person that is intelligent as him. She claim to be the director (yeah right)... When I told her about my experience, she said she was sorry things didn't go the way "that I wanted them to go." Completely omitting the level of service I just described. When I asked her if what I just described was the level of service the school considers their standard. She said no.... But her comment was she was sorry things didn't go my way was stupid to begin with and obvious. I couldn't have been more clear when I told her that my simple request was for someone to try the extension to ensure someone was available in the department... KEEP IN MIND, THE KEYWORD IS EXTENSION... She responded by saying people are not allowed to leave the front desk to check on someone. So when I remind her that checking the extension doesn't require leaving the desk or at least it shouldn't... I asked if trying an extension is something that couldnt be done... All of a sudden she is aware that he did that and she annoyed that I cut her off. Well,when you are giving long winded responses that doesn't make sense (I said try an extension not get up and check someone's office)..... I'm going to cut you off because either you are confused or not really a director. It doesn't take a lot of intelligence to understand what I said. Furthermore if she was so aware of what Canon did, then why was asking me what she could do for me as if she didn't understand what I called about and repeated several times. Why was she giving me a rundown about the front desk policy? It's clear this woman also lacked intelligence and was concerned with addressing whether I wanted things my way instead of addressing the piss poor level of professionalism that she and the Canon both lacked. If she is an example of leadership, its no wonder Canon is aloud to demonstrate how unintelligent and unprofessional he is. He has her to be a prime example! I was honestly so excited getting into the school but ones i got in i got too see why I should of never got into it so much money and for what they gave me a cheap ass tablet that don't even work don't have enough equipment old ass stuff they don't have any type of communication like literally staff after staff have been quitting in the past 2 weeks been having problems with the new soar update they are not giving me my full attendance and who is there that I could talk to no one besides Carlos since all the other staff they were are able to talk to them about that quit !!! There is no unity in MA community. Ethnicities going against each other, victimization, and poor communication. Every student that joins UEI enters for one reason DO BETTER THEMSELVES. Students starting false assumptions and those false assumptions lead to expulsion. This type of behavior is unacceptable. We should be UNITED not going against each other. Where do I even begin? I WOULD NOT recommended this school! Let me start by saying this, I enrolled in January and its only August and this place has fallen so far if it wasn't for the friends I made in class or my teacher Ms. Glover who was always in our corner when it felt like the whole school administration was against us, who gave my class the support we needed to finish when we were all ready to quit, when she supplied us with endless patients for x-rays (which the school should have done because it was there mess up in the first place) I would not have made it. The staff here is extremely unprofessional and rude, Maria the cleaning lady was kicking students out at 11 o'clock at night when there ride was not there (and if you know where this school is it is not the safest ) and when confronted about it by students and teachers she said " I'm not a babysitter I don't care" and nothing else was done about it. Kim the CDC lady is also on this list she seems like she hates her job and doesn't want to be there but that does NOT give her the right to bad mouth people I was in my last and most stressful module and here she comes into my class telling us we have to retake a lot of our x-rays (x-rays was 4 MONTHS ago why wasn't this done sooner we have a week left to get our current patients done now we have to redo x-rays on top of that or we wont go out on extern???? When she was helping me retake some x-rays She didn't know how to take the x-rays she had to ask me if something looked correct she didn't put the thyroid collar on my patient i had to put it on her myself she didn't use the lead door and she snapped x-rays well i was in the room which leads to way to much radiation exposure. I come in the next day to school only to find out Kim was bad mouthing ME saying she wasn't gonna help me anymore because i spoke up about her x-rays being taken unsafely where is the professionalism? Another thing ALL there dental equipment is out of date my main issue is there developer for film my class expressed many times that it was broken and messing up our x-rays leading us to retaking them multiple times they sent a tech out for a temporary fix did that work? NO it is still messing up the film till this day. Extern site for the Dental assistants is another story in itself with a week left of school I haven't heard anything about extern where i was being placed a schedule NOTHING i finally end up emailing some one in carrier services, they didn't send out my resume i had to resend my resume FINALLY i got a call an hour later and was placed at a site and i start next Tuesday i go into school the next day to sign my extern clearance papers and was told not to go into extern till i hear from career services first. Well its almost time for me to go in i haven't heard anything yet and i don't want to just not show up and it look bad on my end I've texted people called people emailed people and still haven't heard back. If would have know all this going in i would have paid the extra 10k to go to Carrington college where the equipment is better they give you good iPads to learn with and not the $25 dollar iPad you get on the side of the road. They give you a good tour and boost the place but in all it gives you nothing that's why they pressure you to sign up that same day please look into other schools before saying yes to this one. Don't let them foul you with all there cool equipment cause its not cool it out dated and dirty. Shame on you Uei college yes I'm graduating from here but NO THANKS TO YOU all you did was lie and treat us like children, we are grown adults with lives outside of this just like you. Where is your compassion?? We went and wanted something better for ourselves and you completely crush our confidence. I would not recommend this school at all. I wish I would have looked at more options before signing up. The people who give you the tour sell you the dream to get you to sign up and earn their commission (I'm assuming), but don't fall for it. From the beginning, my instructor kept changing without anyone telling my class what was going on. THE FIRST WEEK, my class was there for over half an hour and no one knew we were there. There were multiple days where my class had no instructor and no staff member knew. We had to go out of our way to let someone know that we didn't have an instructor. When we finally got an "instructor" for the day, it was an instructor from a different program.. they would sit on zoom with their class while my class was sitting for hours with nothing to do. There were times where our "instructor" for the day would be a staff member and they would just give us a worksheet to do for the day. Towards the end of my program, I was excited to start my externship right away (because that's what I was told would happen) and I didn't hear anything for days about my externship. I was constantly reaching out and going to the school to get information about my externship. If I didn't reach out, no one would reach out to me to let me know what was going. An entire week went by before I got an interview. The staff were very inattentive. We were also told that many sites don't want to work with the school anymore because of past experiences with students. It definitely felt like they were struggling to set us up with externship sites. I would not recommend UEI, there are other options that are CHEAPER and better. read more

Honestly the only positive thing from the entire nine months attending uei was Mr. Turnier and Mr. Brandon Morgan. My classmates for the most part were awesome. But it was a waste of money. I never worked with career services. The one person who "helped" me talked to me for 5 minutes and since has ignored me no one responds to messages or returns calls. When I went in for my interview I was told I'd be ase certified and I I found out the day I graduated that I get a certificate of completion for a basic automotive technology course. The only positive thing I received along completion was two letters of recommendation from my instructors. I wasn't even awarded the tools I was supposed to receive like everyone else I've seen graduate has received. I never missed a class I had 100% on multiple modules and during the award ceremony for this grade percentage I was never awarded for my achievement but everyone else who earned 100% was. I never received perfect attendance but I'm nde again I NEVER missed. Single class. I was promised hel with a resume never experienced any help what so ever. I have no proof that I've graduated. No transcript no certificate to present to potential employers. And the certificate I worked my butt off to earn actually means nothing in the automotive industry. They don't provide ase anything! EXCEPT the ase checklist book. I literally just wasted 21,000 dollars. I basically paid them to utilize the shop and tools. I guess you could say I paid them to work for nine months and drive an hour both to and from school for 5 Hr night classes two days a week. Worst experience I have ever had with any "school". College highschool elementary school, by far the most unprofessional, and dishonest FOR PROFIT organization I've ever dealt with in my entire adult life. Only reason for my 2 stars is because of my instructors who actually cared about their students and were extremely knowledgeable and relatable. If I could request a full refund I would take the money and pay the tuition for an ase recognised program that I was promise uei was. Not even the tools I was promised or a record of my completion. And I am only one of multiple other current students and graduated students who've experienced the EXACT same things as I have. read more

Where do I start? I just finished the electrical program at UEI and I got a lot to say! The teacher are cool mostly Jose Jimenez! I love that fact I was getting teach by a guy who actually works in the trade and still does till this day! He is determined to teach the next generation of electrician! The only thing that sucked about him is that he only taught the small wheel meaning he only taught basic safety, electrical theory, and flexible cable and conduit bending. So basically the beginner stuff. Now as soon as I got to the big wheel. That is where I started to have a problem. Ali was our teacher for only 3 weeks. Which sucked cause I actually liked he's teaching. He got replaced with a guy called TOM. BASICALLY ALL HE MADE US DO FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER IS EITHER READ AND LEARN HOW TO USE THE CODE BOOK, SET UP A 4-Way switch, OR HOOK UP MOTORS. BRO REALLY SKIPPED OUR SOLAR MODULE JUST BECAUSE HE SAID IT TOO EASY. DONT GET ME STARTED WITH THE EQUIPMENT THE SCHOOL PROVIDED US. NEARLY EVERYTHING WAS BROKEN! SO RARE TO FIND A SWITCH, RECEPTACLE, AND POWER-TOOLS THATS ACTUALLY WORKS. THEY MAKES US PAY $20,000 FOR TERRIBLE TOOLS AND MATERIALS. Tom would always make us read the codebook because he said we would use in the field in daily basis. But I found out nearly everything he taught was just for our Journeyman TEST! HE EVEN SAID "IM GETTING YOU GUYS READY FOR YOUR JOURNEYMAN TEST" even tho we're barely in our FIRST YEAR OF OUR APPRENTICE-SHIP. Don't get me wrong tom is a great guy but he's teaching is not it. If you guys are planning on going to a trade school. I wouldn't recommend going to this school. Their better school in the Sacramento or would recommend trying to join the union! read more
