I dropped out of the paralegal studies program after Terri, my instructor for Ethics, who is also the Dean of Education for MTI College (now called "Campus") refused to grade my essay. The essay is required to complete/pass the class. She refused to grade my essay regardless of the fact that I followed the rubric, and had citations from the required and scholarly sources directly supporting my thesis. She refused to grade my essay because she personally disagreed with my thesis. Please DO NOT waste your time with this college unless your goal is to become a cosmetologist or hair stylist. The classes are not tranferable to an accredited community, or state college, and are certainly not transferable to a UC. read more

I attended MTI for 10 weeks for the paralegal program, and then decided to transfer to a university so I could start my journey to become a lawyer. Even after attending nearly 2 semesters, I didn't even have any credits on my transcript to show my future college, which they found very odd. After withdrawing, I received a bill of $4,000 even though I was approved for $19,000 of financial aid. Apparently, "financial aid didn't distribute my funds because I didn't file my 2022 taxes." None of this started being brought up by admissions until I let them know I was transferring to a bigger school, and I was called nearly everyday DURING CLASS for 2 weeks, asking if I had filed yet. The financial aid advisors kept mentioning the provisional period, which is the period before they can start charging you for classes. I believe this school is no different than most vocational schools who just want their money, while offering sub par education. After experiencing firsthand the lack of accountability and communication at MTI, I feel compelled to advise prospective students against enrolling in this institution. Despite diligently following the proper channels to address billing discrepancies, I was met with dismissive responses and a failure to rectify the situation. The administration's disregard for student concerns and the apparent inefficiency in handling financial matters demonstrate a troubling pattern of negligence. As someone who values transparency and integrity in educational institutions, I cannot in good conscience recommend MTI to others. Potential students deserve better than to be met with indifference and frustration when seeking resolution to legitimate issues. I urge anyone considering enrollment at MTI to carefully weigh their options and prioritize institutions that prioritize student well-being and academic excellence. read more

I just graduated from the paralegal studies program. I had a great experience aside from the admissions office telling me the program would only be 24 months. The length was over 2 1/2 years. I started January 2020 and finished August 2022. I would have appreciated the transparency upfront during the admissions process. Some students were there longer than me. I'd recommend clarifying this during the admissions process if you plan on attending this school. The instructors were overall great. Some would go out of their way to schedule one on one tutoring sessions if a student needed it. I really felt that I had support if I needed it. The legal instructors were very knowledgeable in the field and taught skills and tasks that are used in the legal field. I had the pleasure of attending while Linda Gardenhire was Department Chair and then Eric Fernandez when she retired. They were both amazing and supportive throughout my whole program. They were very personable and I felt like they genuinely really cared about the success of their students. I happened to have Eric as an instructor for Contract Law and Advanced Legal Research and Writing. These classes were definitely a challenge for me, I made sure to meet with Eric early on and communicate this to him. He did a great job clarifying and helping me through the challenging assignments. He really pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me to be better. The class material mirrors what paralegals do in the field and will help prepare anyone looking to succeed in the legal field. read more

I do not recommend attending school here for phlebotomy. Instructors and staff do not support you, they are making many changes that are negatively impacting students and classes. Staff is very rude and not encouraging. I have talked to multiple classmates and they feel the same and would never recommend anyone to attend mti. Worst experience. I spoke with someone that went through a phlebotomy program and they said there experience was way different and fun. That's the way it should be and I did not feel that way at all attending MTI. If I could give this school 0 stars, I would. I started MTI, also known now as Campus in 2020. If I would have known what I do now about this establishment I would have saved myself over 4 years of schooling, and all the debt this school put me into. Let's start from the beginning. August 2020, I started & my first experience negative experience was with one of their Professors. He would harass me all hours of the night, sending me photos at 2 in the morning then removing them by morning. I reached out to classmates, to see if they had similar experiences. To my surprise they did. I continued on after completing his class. Then I was terminated, from the school. I sent a letter to the Better business Burro after the school denied my appeal to come back and finish my 4 classes. Then long behold. After my BBB report they called me and offered me to come back. I came back. After paying all these fees to come back and finish. Passed with all A's & B's to be terminated at my extern. For "not having a Stethoscope, mind you everyone in this office told me they have them there and I did not need to bring mine. Lets get to how they breached there contract for another student and allowed this student to redo her Medical Assistant Extern. While I was not aloud, & told that all my hard work & hours not to mention all the injections I got was down the drain. They sent me a Medical Administration diploma, but I am still paying for a Medical Assistant license. I talked to countless of staff about the man who harassed me, & was told "We cannot discuss that". They didn't even notify students who took his class about this incident. They just let it go. I will be finding a lawyer, & will discuss this breach of contract, & will not stop until I have answers. Please if you are looking into this school. FIND ANOTHER ONE!! read more

My husband graduated from MTI's computer programming course back in 2002, and not only did one of his professors refuse to give him a final grade on a course he completed, but he didn't get his diploma for MONTHS. Also, the school promised guaranteed job placement back then, which was another lie, because no one would hire my husband even when he did his own legwork--they considered his MTI degree worthless. He was also a manager at Gateway Country at the time, and his store kept getting resumes from MTI graduates looking for jobs. Granted, it wasn't all MTI's fault because it was right when the dot com bust happened, but still--MTI should have been able to place more grads than they did, especially ones with high GPAs. I hope the school has improved since 2002, because back then it was a ten-thousand dollar scam. read more

One of the worst educational mistakes I've ever made. I graduated a decade ago and still regret going there. It would have been cheaper and more beneficial to go to a four year college (which I did after) than to go to MTI college. When I graduated and they help with "job placement", said job placement was at an online gambling hub where I would have closed the online betting window at the start of the race. The fact it was on a computer is good enough for MTI, not that I was actually doing IT Support or Networking. The AAS that I got is completely worthless along with the Microsoft Training that MTI taught. No one is going to hire you with Microsoft certs., they're pretty much worthless. Save your money and do your research, this is a for-profit institution and they'll tell you any lie they can to get your money. read more

I am thrilled with my decision to attend MTI and get my paralegal studies degree. The skills I learned at MTI truly prepared my for my first legal position. All my instructors were engaging and supportive. The curriculum is well rounded and gave me a great foundation of best practices. Dept Head Eric Fernandez, is an exceptional educator and a great resource when entering the legal field. Starting a new, competitive career can be daunting. I have waited until the end of my first year to review MTI so that I could give a complete description. After one year of the paralegal studies program, I have to say, this is a great school. I had concerns about going back to school, since I haven't been so successful in the past (I didn't graduate high school and dropped from ARC). But MTI is different. It's smaller. It's focused. It's efficient. You have to try HARD to fail at this. Dropping is not an option- terms are only 6 weeks long, so you don't have time to get bored. The Dean makes your schedule, so you can't use the excuse "I didn't get into the classes I need". Your books are paid in advance with your tuition and delivered to your class on the first day, so you can't say "I couldn't get the book" or "My books are too expensive this term." MTI has literally eliminated every problem coming between you and successfully finishing college. Class after class, day after day, week after week, you show up to class and put in the time. And before you know it, you're done. Instructors are knowledgeable and focused on helping you succeed. If you are struggling, there are set lab times in every subject throughout the week. Need a tutor? They've got that. Missed some information in class? You can attend another session that week. No computer at home? The LRC is full of computers, a printer, a copy machine, a scanner... and it's open until 9:30 each night. You cannot fail here. Even a high school dropout like me (who just happens to be a genius) was successful. I finished my 13-month program in 9 months with a 4.0 GPA. Yes, I worked my butt off- no one said getting your degree would be easy. But at MTI, it is ACHIEVABLE. Let's talk about money. Private college is expensive, right? More expensive than community college, less expensive than Sac State. Plus, the financial aid team works hard to find you every grant, scholarships are available all year round from various sources, and you even have the option to challenge classes you don't need and not have to pay for them. So finally, the main reason everyone goes to college: a job. MTI offers lifetime career placement assistance. Meaning you can go back forever and they will help you find a job, FOR FREE. It's part of your program! After completing my first year, I was sent on three interviews through MTI before I was offered all three jobs. Do you know how many resumes I would have had to send through Craigslist to get that kind of result? Career services only sends your resume to positions you would be a good fit for, and getting the recommendation of the school holds a lot of weight with an employer. I have now been working at a law firm for two months and I love it. And was I prepared for my new career? Absolutely! My first year of legal classes taught me literally everything I need to know so far. I was scared as hell starting in a real law firm after only a year of classes, but I can honestly say that my instructor was thorough, dedicated, and knew what she was talking about. She taught me everything, and there is nothing that has been asked of me that I didn't already know how to do! I was shocked at how prepared I actually was for this career, and I literally owe it all to MTI and Linda Gardenhire. One more thing I want to add is the sense of community you get at MTI. Not only are there numerous community service opportunities throughout the year (in fact, it's required to graduate!), but the school itself is such a community. There are bake sales, bbq lunches, card drives, days when we dress up... Additionally, there are programs designed to help students when they need it. One such program happens during the holidays, when you are given the opportunity to submit a hardship request. This is open to everyone but stays confidential. As I am a mother of two and was not working last year, I submitted one such request. I was informed that I was selected, and MTI gave me a $100 gift card to Wal-Mart with a handmade card. I can't tell you how much this meant to me, both then and now. It was another reminder that these people are here for you. There has not been one minute that I regretted my decision to go to MTI. The program, the staff, the way they do things, the fact that they are ABA-approved. I went from being someone without a degree, trying a few things out after I changed from being a store manager, to a second-year legal student working in a law office. In another year I will have my associate's degree and be a Bar-approved paralegal. That's amazing. I fully recommend this school to anyone considering it. If you have the right attitude and you are truly ready to make a change in your life, MTI is a great way to get there. It's not going to be easy and it's not going to be free, but it IS going to be worth it. I hope my story and experience will help others to make the decision to give MTI a chance. MTI has given me the life that I was worried I would never have. After having to retire from professional soccer, I was extremely worried because I put my entire life into soccer and did not leave myself with a backup plan. After doing research and coming across MTI, I decided to attend based on their reputation and how long they have been in business. I decided to only attend for 1 year. After taking the core IT classes for the A+ certification, I was able to pass the A+ exam on the first try without really having any prior knowledge in the world of IT. I took my certification and decided to run my own IT consulting gig to get more real-life, experiences on my belt so I could combine that with the certification and get a good starting job. About 1.5 months ago, I landed a dream job for someone in my position. Typically with an A+ certification and minimal experience, you're looking at helpdesk positions mostly. I ended up getting a consulting position for a firm in Santa Barbara, CA (my dream city to live in) and I couldn't have done it without MTI. This is more of a senior level position and it's amazing that with only about 24 weeks of IT training, I was able to find something like this. Definitely speaks volumes to the amount of material you can learn in a short period while attending MTI. They also understand that life happens and they are willing to sit down with you and try to help anyway they can. You can't really even get commitment like that at an expensive university. I went into your campus earlier with hopes of enrolling in your Technical classes. I was interested in your CompTIA A+ Certification and perhaps attending second year for an associates degree in information Technology. However, a roadblock that held me back from enrolling into your class earlier was the fact that I never finished high school. Determined to move forward with my life and make a positive change, I returned to school and I FINALLY graduated this year. Though it was more than 10 years later, I graduated, nonetheless! Nothing stood in the way of my education. MTI College seemed to be the perfect school for me. I liked the class size, hours and location. My plan was to work full time during the day and attend school at night. I had scheduled a campus tour and was REALLY excited about it. I took some time off from work and went in today and talked to an advisor. We went over the details regarding school, costs, etc. The adviser pretty much answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable and helpful. Then he abruptly stopped the "interview". There was a problem. He noticed a "HUGE" problem with me. It wasn't financial aid, child care, transportation, a criminal background, a failed drug test... no. He noticed a SMALL tattoo on my hand. The adviser handed me an "appearance guideline". This guideline stated, and I quote: "VISIBLE TATTOOS- Students with visible tattoos on their face or neck MUST have them REMOVED prior to attending class. A small tattoo on the hand, no larger than than a size of a quarter, is acceptable. " I am shocked that this is even an issue! I asked if I can hide my tattoos. "No, that is not an option", he replied. I explained how expensive tattoo removal would be. That was simply not an option at this time. Why can't i hide them? I did not get a chance to tour the campus. I was escorted to the front of the building and told to come back when my tattoos were removed. I have never felt so discriminated against before today. I was denied a chance to further my education due to my appearance. I believe everybody deserves the opportunity to further their education without being discriminated against no matter what their appearance may be. I have in front of me a brochure from your campus. It has a quote written on the front which reads: "Be brave...it's your future". It should read "It's your future, as long as you don't have visible tattoos." As someone who needed to begin a new career in the second half of my life I am so happy to have chosen to get an education with MTI. Through every step of the way from signing up to graduation I was made to feel respected, responsible and important. The staff work really hard to not only give you an education in your chosen field but to also teach the skills to help you succeed like english, computer skills, math, interview skills, resume writing and more. I was helped and guided while signing up for financial aid in the beginning and never left alone through the process all the way to the end of signing up and taking my certification tests. Everything you need is provided from books to backpack, flash drive, headphones, even index cards are available and if there is something you need all you need to do is ask. Your education is built on a solid foundation and each layer is added to make sure everything makes sense and fully understood. You do need to work hard and study but if extra help is needed tutoring is available and every effort is made to help you succeed. Any problems are handled with grace and discretion and successes are celebrated loudly. Every single staff member I had contact with was kind, helpful and concerned about my needs. Never was I made to feel like an inconvenience or burden. The lifetime career services are an amazing service that have helped my fellow classmates get jobs that they enjoy and are very happy in with an income that is helping build their financial freedom. The studies are not always easy. It is an intense education that fast tracks you to get ready in every way for a new career but you are never alone during the process. If you are ready to take the next step in your education the staff and teachers are there to take you seriously and hold your hand while you take your first steps, stand close while you gain confidence and celebrate with you while you walk across the stage and off into your new career. read more

This school i found by chance, i live 45 minutes away and my husband and dad paid for my admissions and I was that Medical Assistant program is 7 to 9 months and it took me longer. Several semesters I had a steady flow of classes then a few semesters of only 1 class. I started the class in July 2021 and didn't graduate until December 2022. I signed up for both medical assistant and phlebotomy program and for phlebotomy i was dropped out twice with no reason. I never missed a day or ever late but due to some complications with a professor me and group of other girls were dropped. Once i graduated from MTI, they will force you to sign a paper stating that you are working even if you're not and its only to keep there numbers up. They will only send you indeed.com links for jobs ONLY in the sacramento area. They will not help you out any further once you graduate. This school is useless and full of liars. They say they have a team dedicated to help graduated students and if you email or call them they give you a vague response and hang up. The counselors never get back to you after you pay the admissions, they act like they never met you. Financial aid was helpful and prompt because they need to secure the money. I can say that if you plan on doing MA or Phlebotomy go with CALregional there programs range from 1 to 2 months with externship already built in those hours. Just be careful when going to MTI , there is a professor there that targets females with "exotic" looking features and shy girls. read more

If I could give less than 1-star I would. Am very displeased and disappointed w/ the Chair of Medical Department & her lack of professionalism. When sending an email inquiry her reply was clearly written w/ her being extremely stressed as she replied about being short staffed, working until 8p, etc. How is that professional? Being on the quick defense and lashing out at a potential candidate seeking a position that seemed like an ideal job and following up because the initial communication stated (to the applicant) was to look for an email from Saturday to Tuesday. Being that it was Tuesday I sent an inquiry and I was taken aback. After replying apologizing that if I had offended her in any way it was not my intent. Next day (7:30a to be exact) I was sent an email thanking me for my interest. In a way this unprofessional and unnecessary vehement reply may have been a blessing in disguise. Who would want to work alongside an individual who cannot handle pressures of their job. It is par for the course. I had positive thoughts of MTI as I had hired past graduates from MTI for positions I recruited for and I had a great rapport with the Admissions person years ago, when this weekend opportunity came up I applied. My thoughts were that it would be ideal to assist students in their goals in a medical careers and what better institution? I genuinely love helping others. This experience on a personal level has left me disappointed and greatly discouraged. How can you feel confident in your studies and career goals in the hands and guidance of a faculty member who is downright rude and inconsiderate? Granted these trying times of this pandemic has been a challenge for everyone we all stand firm and move forward with all that we are to get what we need to handled. I am a recent graduate of MTI College's Paralegal Studies program and would highly recommend the school to any person interested in pursuing a career in the medical, accounting, business or paralegal fields. I have a 30 year professional background in the mutual fund industry and chose MTI College to guide me into my second life-career. As a business professional I have a very high standard of performance for myself, my colleagues and especially for my instructors. I admit I was hard on instructors at times because I expected excellence. The education experience at MTI was outstanding. I was particularly impressed by Department Chair & Instructor Eric Fernandez for his guidance, genuine interest in properly grooming students to perform well (above expectations) and for the high quality of his instruction. As a business professional, the "real working world" is hard. Bosses are hard, co-workers are hard and the work can be extremely hard. My observation of, and guidance from, Professor Fernandez's supervision was a true reflection of how work in the legal industry will be conducted and what will be expected. Regularly Mr. Fernandez raised the bar of expectation for me and the other students through his instructional lessons. He graded assignments from the perspective of a working lawyer, meaning he gave the kind of feedback a student can expect from a practicing attorney they will be working for in a law office. In short, he did not sugar-coat a bad grade into an okay-grade, or an okay-grade into a great grade. He gave realistic grades for the work that was done and he gave realistic feedback upon which a student could develop and strengthen their skills. I will be a better paralegal and MTI will garner an even stronger reputation because of Eric Fernandez's work as Department Chair & Instructor. UPDATE re: The response to my review from the school. 1st, I was NEVER EVER presented "options" for payment that included federal student loans. That 100% is a lie and absolutely never happened. Why would i knowingly choose a privatized high interest loan over a low interest government loan? Thats ludicrous. 2nd, I guess its my word against theirs, but I have contacted 3-4 different lenders about refinancing and they all told me that MTI does not qualify for refinancing because they do not offer bachelor degrees and are therefore not a Title school. So i dont know what to say regarding his accusation that they are. read more

It was all a miscommunication of how long it may take since the process goes through different staffs etc . But I'm hoping to get my problem resolved soon. A friend of mine recently completed the Medical Assisting program and invited me to MTI's graduation ceremony last week. Since I am a past graduate of MTI (1991), I thought it would be fun to go. They had a special guest speaker by the name of Alvin Law, whose life story is very inspirational, positive and uplifting. You should look him up and read his story, and if you ever have an opportunity hear him speak you should do so. I was also impressed by the graduation ceremony itself - I have friends who have children that have graduated from "major" universities and were not very impressed by their ceremonies. MTI did a nice job for thier graduates and made it a memorable evening. The graduation ceremony reminded me of my days as a student at MTI. I remembered the one-on-one attention we all received not only from the faculty but from the administration department as well. For the first time ever I looked forwarded to going to school and learning valuable employment skills. The skills I learned at MTI helped me land a job that I held for over 17 years. Without the training from MTI, I am confident I would have ended up going from one dead end job to another. I firmly believe MTI was a wise investment for me and would highly recommend MTI to anyone looking to better or further their education. read more

This is a very very shady company. I went in because I thought they good reputation and wanted tosee if it would be a good fit. Jason Holt was my advisor and he left me waiting 2 of my 3 appointments to begin with. I was uncertain which road to go so he suggested medical coding numerous times, even though the income at graduation is minimal and difficult for job placement, along with paralegal course. When I finally expressed an interest, he reluctantly gave me information on the IT program. He directed me towards more traditional female careers when I have no interest in them initially. He suggested I talk to the IT department head john, and when I spoke to him he made me feel unwelcome and then I shouldn't pursue computers unless I had passion. I've been talked two the career placement people, one named Chelsea and another person I found out they each spoke about me behind my back to the others in the career because I asked them very specific questions long-term and short-term job placement after graduation. she knew who I was without ever having spoken to me prior to my second call. What I asked them is how many people enrolled at each of these courses, how many people successfully graduated each of those courses, and I wanted to know the three, six months, and one year for career placement numbers of those same people. I was then giving a lecture that they couldn't give me guarantees and that I was on my own to have a good resume and be passionate about what I wanted to do. "They weren't allowed to give me those numbers" even though the government requires the track them. I was then told I was the one being defensive during the phone call. They refuse to answer my questions because I wanted to know real numbers. Not the padded ones they give you to make it look good when signing up. I was then transferred to Amy Draeger, director of admissions she took down my questions; however got them all wrong, sorry stated the same questions to her. Amy said she would call me back in a few hours. She never bothered to call. So I did do a sit-down in the IT program and the two professors I spoke with, I thought were very nice. I then went and dealt with the financial aid office for admissions and testing. It is super simple and very basic. I called Jason back to let him know that Amy had not called me back and why and my concerns with the career center not giving me any kind of answers and being evasive. So then Jason decided to tell me he's done more for me than anyone who is applied to the school and got very angry because I was upset when I wanted to find out the cost versus income ratio of my investment to go to school there. So then I did call back to try to arrange another sit in which he said I could do in the legal department. He never called me back. So now after doing the enrollment I now have a rejection letter because I am a forward-thinking questioning human being that wants to know what is worth spending my money on going back to school. They refused to give honest answers they will deflect anything back on you. If they can't answer real honest legitimate questions about how they do their business and then reject you for it doing so, tells you that their business model is not good for legitimate education and career skill goals. Don't waste your time and don't waste your money they only want your money not questions about how they do business. read more

It's been almost five years since I completed the Paralegal Studies program at MTI. I have nothing but the warmest regards for this school, its staff, and particularly Linda Gardenhire (Department Chair). After I earned my B.A. at Sac State, I was on the traditional law school trajectory of LSAT prep and humbling research. There's a swell of un- and under-employed JDs in this country, and I didn't want to join their ranks. MTI offered the perfect opportunity to open the door to a legal career without the prohibitive price tag. I've seen others gripe about "how expensive" this program is, but you know what's truly expensive? Law school. For example: UC Davis Law School nonresident fees and tuition are $56,537-per academic year. Education is an investment, no doubt, but sometimes, it's OK to be more conservative with our investments. The program was rigorous and taught by working, journey-level paralegals who injected their teachings with real insight (stories ranging from funny to inspiring to horrifying, but always useful). Everything I learned in the program, I use every day on the job (except for a few of the specialty/elective courses, which are practice area-specific and who knows, I may encounter down the road). I felt sufficiently challenged by the coursework here to enter the firm I ultimately took a job with confidently. MTI was easily one of the best academic choices I could have made, and anyone considering the paralegal (or related) profession should definitely consider it. read more

I just started the second year of my paralegal studies degree at MTI and I very happy with my decision to attend here. I spent a few semesters at a local community college, but could never get enough classes on my schedule to feel like I was getting any closer to a graduation. I found out that MTI has the same accreditation as the community colleges, and they have the program I wanted, paralegal studies and it is approved by the American Bar Association. After my first year, I was able to take my skills and get a job as a file clerk at a local law firm and now I am finishing up my degree at night. I was looking for a respectable college that could get me through my program quickly, and had quality instructors and curriculum. I'm a fan but not a fan of the price. I feel that the price these private institutions charge are too high. Other than that, I have only good things to say. It was hard to juggle having children, a job and going to the local community college. The classes were painfully long and there were no consistent schedules. I could have class in the morning and my next class wouldn't be till the evening. I just couldn't do it with my small children needing me at home. So I looked into MTI and although the price almost had me walk out, I decided to take the risk. Through them I obtained my AA in Paralegal Studies. The teachers care and go the extra mile to help you understand. I had Cs and Ds in high school math but my teachers at MTI helped me achieve As in Algebra and a B in Stats. When my teachers challenged me, I did the best and I am grateful for it all. The facilities are very nice and clean. The small class sizes enabled us to forge bonds that helped get us through the hard times. For the first time in my life I felt comfortable asking my instructor for extra help and guidance. MTI became a very cozy second home. As for their job placement services, I utilized the career center but always diligently looked for myself. I have been employed in my chosen field before I was even finished with school. The two times I contacted MTI to get me started with the Career Center, I became employed shortly after from doing my own job searches from home. The ABA Approved program on my resume sets me apart from other applicants especially since a lot of the want ads for legal secretaries and Paralegals require training from an ABA Approved school. read more

After what was a massive disagreement with the college pertaining to tuition and military benefits; I was approached with kindness and sincerity by MTI. I will likely be moving on from the school; however not out of spite. The staff here is still fantastic. The teachers here are people I will never forget. I was in good hands soaking in knowledge and finding a starting point in the field of IT. Career services here has been looking out for me every single step of the way and has been a fantastic resource for me. I would say the school does care. I am new to Yelp, and thought I should participate in my good Samaritan duties by given reviews on businesses that I have dealt with, good and bad. I look to the reviews for my own decisions as well. I will start by saying WOW to the negative reviews on MTI college. My guess it would be from graduated students who have low drive and prefer to live off the system! Why get a job when unemployment pays more, right? I am also aware they email their students several jobs a week to assist in their searches. MTI can only provide you so many leads, but not complete your application and do the interview for you! I was vaguely familiar with the services MTI provided between students and employers, but I had no idea the high caliber of customer service and efficiency that I was going to receive. After reviewing 700 resumes and weeks of searching for qualified candidates to interview, I decided to reach out to Career Services. Within 10 minutes of my request, I received 4 MORE than qualified applicants she felt would be an excellent fit. An interview was scheduled with an applicant she felt would 110% suit our needs, as well as the student's. The applicant arrived promptly 15 early, dressed better than some of our own employees and a binder filled with his work. He was honest, well spoken, and had a general kindness that we look for in all potential new hires. This student has now been employed with our company for 6 months, and we could not be more excited with the results. Career Services recommended the EXACT candidate for the job, as well as a great personality fit. If I were a student who had not received a job yet, I would start looking within myself to see where the problem lays and why I can't get hired. Or better yet, seek out MTI's Career Services to ask what the problem is and how you can better help yourself. read more

Michael, what you're saying is exactly the sales pitch your counselors give. When it comes to voicing my dissatisfaction with the school, what good would that do? All you would do is give me the same response you just gave me while not doing anything to correct the problem. Instead of wasting my breath telling you how worthless your school is, which you most likely already know, I thought I would let others know so they could avoid the headache altogether. As I said in my original post, your school might be accredited, but your classes are not college level courses. Sierra College told me they wouldn't accept any of my credits from your school. Your tech certs are absolutely worthless. As I stated earlier, you'll be lucky to get hired at a wage more than $10 an hour. The certs your school provides are often not enough to get a job as a help desk attendant. If you want to provide data on how much your students make upon job placement, I'm willing to bet it would back up my statement. I qualified for pre calc for CA state schools, as well as receiving a 92 AFQT on the ASVAB. I highly doubt I got a substandard score on your school's one page "placement" test. As far as books go, I was never even told what books I needed to buy. How can I buy the books second hand if you don't tell me what they are before I need them? You automatically took the ~$2,000 out of my Pell grant without even a mention that "you can source the books yourself." What you just said is the absolute first I've heard of this. This is also hard to do considering a few of the books are your own school's proprietary books. I've still never even received an invoice or receipt stating how much my books cost. This also doesn't mention the fact that half the books you are forced to buy are never used. I'm willing to bet you won't issue a refund for these books because they've been opened out of the cellophane so they aren't "new" anymore. As far and transcripts go, I specifically asked if I could bring in my transcript to get the keyboarding requirement done as I felt it was a waste of my time. I talked to the Dean and she told me it didn't matter and I had to take the class anyways without even looking at my transcript. When it comes to testing out of classes, why don't you mention the classes such as the Excel class that you can't test out of? The instructor in that class specifically told me I should be able to test out of the first day of class, but sadly there was no test out available for that class. There's more classes than Excel you can't test out of as well. You are a for profit school, correct? I do believe it is "in your best interests" for students to take unnecessary courses. Your school exists solely to make your owners a profit. Stop masquerading around like your school's best interest is the student's education. As far as making it right goes, the only way you could do that would be to refund me the ~$17,000-$18,000 I wasted going to your school and give me back the year of my life I wasted there. I highly doubt you'll be able to assist me with either one of those two requests in the slightest capacity. So, how exactly can you "make this right" Michael? read more

I started attending MTI in 2012. I began the Paralegal Program, but had to stop 10 months into it due to a health issue. I re-enrolled in May 2014 and switched programs to Medical Billing & Coding. I love the classes and the other students, but the teachers are not good at all. We had a teacher quit after 3 weeks into our term. We are now extremely behind on our curriculum and not even sure who our teacher is going to be. We as a class do not feel we are getting our "moneys worth" and not being taught what we need in order to advance in our other classes. We feel as if no one cares anymore. But other than that, I enjoy the school. read more

Friendly accommodating staff!! Financial aid goes out of their way to make sure you have a clear understanding of everything thats going on, and even helps get you funding for school! Class sizes are smaller than the average college so you can get one on one with the professor! read more

I have been attending this class for a a little over a month and I can truly say that my education is worth it. The school lets students evaluate the teachers, offer suggestions, and offer assistance from car pooling to tuition assistance. There are a few bad reviews but it's not the school that is responsible for who takes advantage of the job assistance and who doesn't. I will be updating when I finish school to see what happens. So far it's awesome. Update: it's been a while since I have graduated. Was the information useful? Yes, but for the program I took I feel I could have taught most of it myself or gone to workshops and saved a ton of money. Their hands on was more virtual stuff. They stressed often that hands on training would be provided at the works site. Problem is, I can't get a job because they require experience. read more

I'm really excited to start school in May! The admission process was stress free for me, and they offer a combined MA/Phlebotomy program that nobody else does. They obviously have a good reputation, as they are a CalGrant eligible school. A lot of employers are looking for the skill set they offer. And most of all, Amy was very supportive of my decision to wait until May so that I can do the 8:40-12:10 class. Honestly, it is up to each person to make the most of their education and put your best foot forward. When you are certified by the state, that means you have a license to practice in your field of training. So, if you have to start from the bottom and work your way up, it is what it is. Everyone has to start somewhere, and there are staffing agencies that hire new grads. Also, I did ask questions because of a couple other experiences at vocational schools I was interested in. Nobody was mean or demeaning to me. I was accepted into my program. And in 3 appointments, my enrollment and financial aid were complete. I'm confident that MTI will make a huge difference in my life. And being that I'm a realist, I know that no job will be handed to me. I have to soak in all the knowledge and clinical skills so that I can make a good impression when my externship starts. read more

Attending MTI has literally been one of the best decisions I've ever made. From the start, every staff member, instructor, etc. was nothing, but professional. I did my research before enrolling and MTI was not only cheaper than most of the other IT schools I looked into, but they were offering more too. I never once felt pressured to enroll. I feel like I was given honest, up front information from the start and haven't dealt with anything to the contrary yet. Faud and Fabio are such great instructors! It's so easy to get extra help if I'm stressing over something that I'm struggling to understand. Students I've met that started long before I did have gotten jobs that, frankly, make me motivated to work even harder to be successful. I'm excited about the possibilities for my future and I would (and have already) recommend this school to anyone looking for a better career.
