The essay is required to complete/pass the class. She refused to grade my essay regardless of the fact that I followed the rubric, and had citations from the required and scholarly sources directly supporting my thesis. She refused to grade my essay because she personally disagreed with my thesis. Please DO NOT waste your time with this college unless your goal is to become a cosmetologist or hair stylist. The classes are not tranferable to an accredited community, or state college, and are certainly not transferable to a UC.

Mind you I have a bachelor's degree that took me 4 years and I barely landed a job above minimum wage. Here I was able to get into every class- largest class size was 30 people max and every time I needed help or reached out to the faculty, they helped me quickly and were so kind. Reading some of the reviews was a surprise- my experience was not perfect, but I got everything that I needed from my program. Mindset matters- I greatly appreciated Katilyn, Tam, Bianca, Dr. Suhad, and the admin team.

The program is accredited, which is great. Dr. Suhad is an amazing professor. She is down to earth and just brilliant. I couldn't imagine learning about sonography from anyone else. Melissa, my clinical coordinator, is very encouraging and I appreciate all of her help during my clinicals. I want to be 100% transparent about my time here at SUI so I will also speak about some things that can be improved on. I believe that better communication and full transparency will take this program to the next level. I think that the amazing staff, like Dr. Suhad and Melissa, are taking on a lot of responsibility and if their burden was shared with possibly more staff, the program would be so much more amazing. There are a few other kinks not worth mentioning but I know that SUI is already done some steps to make the next cohort's experience better than what mine was so I know they are very well capable of greatness. When I broke my leg they told me to put my externship aside and contact them when it was healed. Because I would be a liability. So 6wks pass and I contacted them back and haven't heard from anyone there. I've filed a complaint. And heard nothing back. I then later find out that the people I was dealing with have either been fired or quit. Still need to do my externship and it's now almost 2026. I'm now having to find my own externship and having no luck. 9 months it feels like down the drain.
