This is an adult education center in San Juan School District. Very convenient location with lots…read moreof parking. My main interest as a retired person is in art classes and this is where I finally found classes to suit my needs. Lynn Morrison teaches water color painting, acrylic painting, drawing and multi-media arts. She really is a wonder and a supportive and generous teacher. I like her pattern of showing how a certain work is started, layered, and completed as the class worked along side of her. This year they added Asian Fine art brush and ink painting. Myungsook Piette really knows her medium and is very generous with materials. She demonstrates technique and allows lots of time to practice. Each session we learned one of the "Four Gentlemen" and mounted a completed painting. We also carved our own stamp to sign our works. There is also photography instruction. I found the material useful in class, but I don't own the software, so I couldn't practice outside of class. The teacher Roy Salisbury is very well prepared and knows what he is talking about. In the spring students can show their work at a week-long art show at Mesa Verde High School. There is also an art sale later in the spring. This is definitely a reasonably priced center where you can get excellent art instruction. The Spring Catalog is now out and online at www.sanjuan.edu/sunrisetc

The length was over 2 1/2 years. I started January 2020 and finished August 2022. I would have appreciated the transparency upfront during the admissions process. Some students were there longer than me. I'd recommend clarifying this during the admissions process if you plan on attending this school. The instructors were overall great. Some would go out of their way to schedule one on one tutoring sessions if a student needed it. I really felt that I had support if I needed it. The legal instructors were very knowledgeable in the field and taught skills and tasks that are used in the legal field. I had the pleasure of attending while Linda Gardenhire was Department Chair and then Eric Fernandez when she retired. They were both amazing and supportive throughout my whole program. They were very personable and I felt like they genuinely really cared about the success of their students. I happened to have Eric as an instructor for Contract Law and Advanced Legal Research and Writing. These classes were definitely a challenge for me, I made sure to meet with Eric early on and communicate this to him. He did a great job clarifying and helping me through the challenging assignments. He really pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me to be better. The class material mirrors what paralegals do in the field and will help prepare anyone looking to succeed in the legal field.

I should have done this loooong ago. NCTI is a scam "accredited" school. I attended in 2015-16 in…read moretheir Paramedic program in Hercules, Ca. They said they had contracts with Kaiser and AMR. LIES... Some Kaisers within the city (if you were willing to make the 1.5 commute from Sonoma County). I waited for 4 months, after passing my 3 hr final, for my appointment at Kaiser of Santa Rosa. It only happened because I did ALL the ground work and communicating. After completing clinicals, I waited an additional YEAR before they found a Preceptor for me out of AMR of Santa Rosa. They said they could get one quicker out of the Bay area or South Bay, but I couldn't afford more commuting with no pay. Doesn't matter, I signed an agreement with them regarding my chosen facilities because they claimed to be an AMR affiliate and Kaiser contracted. When they finally found somebody, that preceptor told me she never wanted to do it, that she was asked a favor from the AMR manager. I found out that AMR Santa Rosa (including SR Fire and other local cities) only interns students from SRJC. But they knew all this. Only half my 30 student class ever got a fair shot at their internship. I ended up taking them to small claims as well as getting back half my tuition from a class action. I can't believe they are still operating. Look, I've met enough people who washed out because NCTI lied to them about post grad clinicals and internships. I have friends that made it through because they were able to go anywhere to get it all completed. No idea what they charge now but DO NOT SIGN UP. Go to an accredited university program who has contracts already set up and in place with local facilities. You should 't have to wait anymore then a week or two to transition to your next phase. I wasted time and $5000 I never got back for a piece of paper saying I passed a test. FYI, they don't even have updated gear, old beat up mannequins and used medical equipment. If they had a no star option, I'd had used that. I hope they get sued and audited into non existence. Thanks....
