I am an MTI College graduate from their ABA-Approved Paralegal Studies Program.
I felt it was necessary for me to comment on Yelp about this college because of the high caliber of an education the college provides.
Education Quality: 5/5
Preliminarily, it is import to note that I graduated from their Paralegal Studies program; thus, I cannot attest to their other programs. However, you will have a hard time finding a better Paralegal Studies program anywhere within 100 miles from the college. The instructors are very knowledgeable, and they are always there to help you. While a few of the instructors may come off as rude or inattentive, the majority of them are not. I am currently attending law school, and the education that I received at MTI has proved to be invaluable. Everything that I have been taught in law school was taught at MTI College! You get primer law school education for the price of a Paralegal Studies Program! This is by far the college's best asset.
Difficulty: 4/5
The coursework for the first year is relatively easy, so long as you put the time in to study and are diligent in turning in coursework. After the first year, however, the program becomes much more difficult. This is especially true when you get near the end of your program. If you are looking for a challenge, you will find one. If you are just looking for a degree without putting in any work, this college is not for you. If you want a degree but are unsure if you can graduate from a difficult program, do not worry--so long as you put in the effort and study and turn in all of your assignments, you should pass with no difficulties.
Administration: 5/5
This college is very well run. There is no bureaucracy here. If you want to speak to the dean, the door is there for you to knock on. You do not need to go through any "middleman" to talk to management. The college is very open and does not hide anything. If you have a grievance, there are multiple levels of review. The administrative staff is friendly, competent, and helpful. Their financial aid department will help you with any problems that you have. The recruiters/counselors are very helpful and knowledgeable. They will not try to just "sign you up" to get a commission. They do not cold call and perform little to no solicitation. You come to THEM and they will explain the program to you. They will not pressure you into joining and will use no hard sell tactics that you unfortunately find at so many other private, for-profit colleges. You can talk openly with them and they will determine whether the program is right for you--not just sign you up or pressure you to sign up.
Student Life: 5/5
The students at MTI College are very friendly. Most of the upper classmates are anxious to help lower ones. I did not witness any bullying or any talking down to lower classmates. There were no fights. There are a lot of veterans who attend the college, and I found that all of them were very kind. If you are a veteran, this college is a good place for you because you will certainly fit in. One downside is that there are a lot of smokers. However, the college has a strict smoking policy, and it is only allowed in an area removed from the buildings, so it is not much of a problem. I made some very good friends at the college, and you will not be disappointed in the camaraderie that you will find when and if you attend.
Cleanliness: 5/5
The college is kept very clean. The administration hires a lot of janitorial staff to ensure that the college is at all times clean and orderly.
Employment Prospects: 5/5
This is perhaps the most important factor when looking into a college. I can say with confidence that nearly all of my fellow graduates found meaningful jobs RELATED TO THEIR field of study within one month of graduating. Beware of colleges that advertise "XX% of our students found JOBS within one month!" Many of those "jobs" were retail jobs not related to their field of study. At MTI, you can be confident that you will be able to find a CAREER after graduating.
MTI College will not hold your hand, however. You must put in the work and be diligent in your job search. Their career services department can assist you, but they won't necessarily find a job for you--you must do that yourself.
Overall Opinion: 5/5
This college is a fantastic place to go if you want a quality education. Some might complain of a few minor problems that it has, but no college is perfect. When compared to the vast majority of other colleges out there, this one is top quality. The price is very high, but you get what you pay for--in this case, excellent service and a high quality education.
Caveat: I only attended and graduated their Paralegal Studies program. Thus, the experience might very well be different for their other programs. However, many of the medical graduates that I talked to express sentiments similar to mine--that they had a fantastic experience at the college. read more
