So my daughter started this school just last year for TK. Ms. Grundel her teacher is awesome! My…read moredaughter loves her teacher and she has taught her a lot of things including how to read. She is going to be more than ready for kindergarten next year. Unfortunately there is ALWAYS something going on at this school. Fights with kids, fights between parents etc. I don't feel like she's safe there every time I get a notification that there's some "lock down" or a voicemail saying something happened at the school, so we are changing her schools. Also there are two afterschool programs. DO NOT PICK BRIDGES. Multiple times has my daughter been bullied and when myself or her dad asked for her to be moved or the girl to be talked to, nothing was done for months. Also the people lie about what actually happens. One time the main lady "ms. L" told me my daughter fell and hit her head on the concrete, I never mentioned it to my daughter but when I asked her about her day she said a kid jumped over her and kicked her in the head. So definitely pick the other afterschool program it's called Arden manor. They're amazing and no accidents or bullying since she's been there and she absolutely loves it, I regret not putting her with them sooner. (I didn't know they had a second program) Anyways not the best school but probably not the worst. Also the kids that go here use pretty foul language as well but I'm sure that's on the parents end.

Terrible principle! Today I witnessed the principal Heidi Garner be super rude to a mom who was…read morethere with her son and wouldn't allow them to come into the school. A teacher at the school had told them it was ok to come the boy's graduation but he wouldn't be able to walk and this lady stopped them at the door, was rude, disrespectful, and made fun of the mom by saying she couldn't understand her English. The poor boy was crying I'm embarrassed and even though the Principal was told by another teacher that what she was saying was true, the principal said she had the final word. Very low principal Heidi Garden! My child also goes to this school and let me tell you, do your research.. This principle has a lot of complaints on her. Just glad my daughter will no longer be coming to this school!

I can't recommend this daycare enough for families looking for a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for their little ones. He absolutely loves it here! Each day is filled with fun and learning--from creative crafts to language and music activities during circle time. The outdoor playground is a favorite, and he enjoys the healthy snacks, too. He even takes some of his best naps at school! I love receiving daily updates and photos through the app, and the staff always communicate promptly by text or phone if anything needs immediate attention. The teachers are truly wonderful--they clearly care about my child's well-being and development. I feel completely confident leaving my son in their care while I'm at work, and it makes me so happy to see how excited he gets every morning when he knows he's going to "school" to see his friends. They also accept Child Action, which has been an incredible help for our family. L'Academy has been such a positive experience for both my son and me--I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a caring and high-quality daycare.

The teachers are so thoughtful, caring and engaging with my daughter and all of the kids at the center. They share updates throughout the day, including photos. I love the fun activities that they plan for the kids and even events for parents to attend. I love that she gets to continue learning Spanish and have the opportunity to learn Mandarin. So glad we found this daycare and I highly recommend L'Academy!

All of the teachers are so kind and attentive - we especially love Ms. Joanna and Ms. Joselyn. The communication is excellent. The director is very kind and responsive. Are you looking for childcare with a truly caring staff and nurturing environment? Look no further…read morebecause L'Academy is the place! I haven't stopped raving about it since my daughter started a few months ago. Ms. Quynh was incredibly professional and guided me every step of the way through the enrollment process. She was always quick to respond and thorough in her communication, which made everything smooth and stress-free. The environment felt safe, clean, and welcoming from the very beginning. The cost also felt very reasonable and huge bonus is you work for the state or healthcare as there is a discount (not sure if they are still doing this but I was able to get the discount when my daughter started). One of my favorite features is the app they use to track the children's daily activities. I love being able to see photos and videos of what my daughter is doing throughout the day--it gives me peace of mind and helps me feel connected even when I'm away. The teachers are so warm and attentive. On the rare occasions when my little one is having a tough morning, they were patient, creative, and compassionate in helping her adjust. Knowing she's in such good hands has been a huge relief for me as a parent. Earliest drop off was 7:30am and latest pick-up was 5:30pm. What really sets L'Academy apart--beyond the amazing staff--is their language program. They teach Spanish and Mandarin, which has been a wonderful way for my daughter to learn about different cultures while also stimulating her intellectual growth. In the short time that she was there, 4 months, she learned how to count and say certain animals or objects in Spanish and Mandarin. I can't recommend L'Academy enough to my friends and family. It's truly a gem!

I came here to volunteer, and to my surprise, there were even younger kids participating. I learned that the minimum volunteer age is 10 years old. Some students were volunteering for school service hours, while others came through different companies and organizations. We joined the second shift from 1pm-4pm. The session started shortly after 1pm with a briefing and task assignments from the group leader. All tasks were explained clearly. The leaders checked on us throughout the shift to make sure we were doing okay and to see if anyone had concerns. Halfway through the shift, we had a 15-minute break, and one of the leaders brought ice cream to celebrate a volunteer's birthday and shared it with everyone. I thought it was a meaningful way to celebrate a birthday while helping a good cause. We actually finished around 3:30pm, and our shift completed: - 5,451 lbs of food packed - 474 boxes prepared for the "No Student Goes Hungry" program supporting students from elementary school through college in Sacramento County. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, and the facility was clean and organized. Restroom: clean, bright, and decent. If you are interested in volunteering, check out their website and register in advance.

Within all of this stuff, was a bunch of new and lightly used clothing. In the past I have donated clothing to my local Goodwill Express. However, I did some reflection and realized that all of the clothing that I donated was being sold for profit. Going forward, my intention was to donate to an organization that receives the donation(s) and distributes them to underprivileged individuals/families free of charge. Some research led me to the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. Upon calling to verify their hours (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 10am-1pm and Wednesday, 4pm-7pm), I gathered all of the clothing and hit the road on a mission to make a difference. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a Sacramento Food Bank employee who eagerly began to load my clothing donations onto a cart. Since a lot of the clothing consisted of dress pants and dress slacks, he proceeded to inform me about a program called "Job Smart Clothing." Job Smart Clothing is a program within Sacramento Food Bank that provides career appropriate apparel for underprivileged individuals interviewing for employment or currently employed. How cool is that? I'm not a representative for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. However, I will say that they provide an awesome service to the community, and that a little donation goes a long way (individuals who benefit from their services often leave with 15-20 pieces of clothing per visit). Before you throw away that piece of clothing that you think is out of style or doesn't quite hug your curves the way that they used to, think about donating it to the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services!
