From the very beginning, the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had every opportunity to succeed. What stood out to me most about UEI wasn't just the education, it was the people. Every single person I interacted with genuinely cared about the students and our futures. I want to start by recognizing Mrs. Anita Pai. She worked tirelessly helping me obtain my transcripts from my online high school. It wasn't a simple process and required her to jump through multiple hoops and go back and forth numerous times. Because of her persistence and dedication, I was able to begin the process of enrolling. Without her help and determination, I honestly may not have been able to start school when I did. I would also like to recognize Mr. Ricardo, who handled my student intake. His energy and enthusiasm were incredible from the moment I met him. He worked extremely hard to get everything processed and even managed to get me started that very same week. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, and his excitement made me feel confident and motivated about starting the program. My instructor, Miss B, deserves more recognition than I could ever put into words. She wasn't just a teacher to me, she truly became a mentor and friend. She didn't just teach what was in the textbook, she taught real-life skills and how to truly succeed in the medical field. She was patient, supportive, and always available whenever I needed help or didn't understand something. She believed in her students and pushed us to be our best. Without a doubt, she is the best teacher I have ever had the privilege of learning from. I would also like to recognize Nate, who always seemed to be juggling a million things but still made time to help students whenever they needed it. His willingness to step in and assist never went unnoticed. Most importantly, I want to give a huge recognition to Carlos. Carlos is the person you can go to for absolutely anything, and he will always find a way to help. He is incredibly knowledgeable, highly educated in the medical field, and extremely compassionate. What makes him stand out the most is how much he genuinely cares about the students in the Medical Assistant program and their future success. Carlos truly listens to students and values their thoughts, concerns, and goals. He is also the person who encouraged me to take the CCBMA certification exam, something I never believed I could pass. I honestly had no intention of even attempting it because I didn't think it was possible for me. Carlos believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. Because of his encouragement and support, I took the exam and I am now CCBMA certified. The fact that he is even helping me revise my resume on a Sunday shows the level of dedication he has to his students. Every single employee at UEI College has been incredible. The environment is welcoming, supportive, and full of people who genuinely want to see students succeed. They treat you like more than just a number, they treat you like family. UEI College didn't just give me an education, it gave me confidence, support, and a future in the medical field. The experience and the people I met there truly changed my life. I can honestly say I miss being there. If you are considering the Medical Assistant program, I cannot recommend UEI College enough.

I just graduated from the paralegal studies program. I had a great experience aside from the…read moreadmissions office telling me the program would only be 24 months. The length was over 2 1/2 years. I started January 2020 and finished August 2022. I would have appreciated the transparency upfront during the admissions process. Some students were there longer than me. I'd recommend clarifying this during the admissions process if you plan on attending this school. The instructors were overall great. Some would go out of their way to schedule one on one tutoring sessions if a student needed it. I really felt that I had support if I needed it. The legal instructors were very knowledgeable in the field and taught skills and tasks that are used in the legal field. I had the pleasure of attending while Linda Gardenhire was Department Chair and then Eric Fernandez when she retired. They were both amazing and supportive throughout my whole program. They were very personable and I felt like they genuinely really cared about the success of their students. I happened to have Eric as an instructor for Contract Law and Advanced Legal Research and Writing. These classes were definitely a challenge for me, I made sure to meet with Eric early on and communicate this to him. He did a great job clarifying and helping me through the challenging assignments. He really pushed me out of my comfort zone and challenged me to be better. The class material mirrors what paralegals do in the field and will help prepare anyone looking to succeed in the legal field.

One "verifiable" year of Montessori experience usually means that the child went to a private Montessori preschool ( at least in this area) Private Montessori preschools are expensive and so it puts many people at a disadvantage in their lottery system. I understand that they want kids (first and foremost) with Montessori experience but on the other hand this is a publically funded school so it seems elitist to me. Because of my son's visual/ tactile learning style, I know he will not be happy in a traditional public school setting that teaches to the test and is heavy on "workbooks". We didn't get in this year and will try next year but sad we have few choices.

My experience with the RT…read moreprogram and RT program director Ms. Elma Dos Santos would cause any sane person to lose their sanity. I have repeatedly raised concerns about what I believe has been inconsistent treatment, grading practices, communication, and disciplinary decisions. Instead of feeling like a student who's concerns were taken seriously, I've been constantly ignored my the Dean, the school's discrimination team, and any other higher ups for the RT program. Prepare for the instructors to create an environment that feels less than pleasant, and certainly not respectful. We pay to go to this school, and they treat us like we are in the military. Hair up, uniform on point, 4 hour classes where you'd be lucky if you get allowed a 10 minute break. Rules are enforced differently based on if Elma Dos Santos likes you or not. Some students are able to slide by if they do a little butt-kissing, those who prefer to stand with integrity are usually punished. I am proud to say I am one of those students. And then came the bathroom situation. Both campus restrooms were unavailable due to being serviced, so students were told to "just wait." A few students, myself included, left to go across the street and relieve ourselves. If you can believe this, when we came back to the classroom we were told to "sing & dance" in front of our peers to prevent having our professionalism points deducted for being late back from break. I said no, that I refuse to be humiliated in front of my entire cohort, & my points were taken away dropping my grade significantly; I went from an A in the class to a C. Is this not a form of hazing? And it's the instructors wanting us to do this which is the worst part. If I could go back in time, I never would have chose Carrington College/SJVC Rancho Cordova. Some of the staff are cool, and truly do care about education and the students. Stephanie, the admissions counselor is amazing. Mr. Wallace is kind and knowledgeable and loves what he does, Mrs. Crabtree who is no longer there, was amazing. However the RT program director, Ms. Dos Santos, is a walking bag of spite. If you are not prepared to bow down to her, she will make sure to make your experience there hell. I have a written statement from a Term 5 student that she told my peers that I am "no good" and "a spoiled brat" and she also made false allegations against me that I work in the "adult entertainment industry"... this is a 60 year old woman... so just keep that in mind! If you're considering enrolling here, first of all don't. But if you insist, be prepared to ask lots of questions, practically be begging for clarification on the grading policies, and be prepared to be treated like a prisoner of war, not someone who aims to better themselves. Apparently surviving the RT program requires learning 2 things... how to manage a ventilator and how to manage an administrative paper trail. You have been warned!

After many conversations with my husband, we began to ask ourselves: Why leave a school we love so much, especially when we believe so strongly in the quality of its education and love the smaller class sizes? Instead, we said to ourselves, why not be part of building the community we hoped to find? Why not be the change we wanted to see? I'm so happy to say that today, while we continue to value the education Brookfield provides, what makes this school truly special to us is the community we've found here. It's the friendships we've built, the wonderful families we've met, and the amazing kids who have become such a meaningful part of our lives. What started as something we felt was missing has become one of the biggest reasons we're grateful to be here. Although there have been several staffing changes in the short time we've been here, they have been positive. The new team members have played a key role in strengthening the community and creating more opportunities for families to connect through activities and events. We're so glad we chose to stay and be part of creating the community we wanted for our family. Having sports available at the school now, along with Brookfield's involvement in PAL sports, is an added bonus! It provides even more opportunities for our kids to grow, connect, build friendships, and be part of something bigger than themselves. Kids are getting hurt, and there is inappropriate conduct. The teacher professionalism and turnover is an issue especially given the price of the school. They've hired some folks who don't have experience or a credential. And folks have left mid-year which is really hard on the kids. The school bills itself as accelerated--sometimes this ended up as a positive, but other times it felt too fast and mastery was lost in the process. I also think parents should know that some of these reviews were incentivized by the administration. I think the real picture is more of a mixed one.

The principal immediately stopped me and told me first he wanted to tell me about how Courtyard supports social and emotional growth of the children, then we will discuss academics. My jaw hit the floor. A school that fosters social growth and focuses on nurturing its student's emotional well-being? What is this utopia?? I got out my checkbook and left with having secured a spot in TK with the fabulous Ms. Mattson. My son spent a magical year in TK and we thought for kinder we'd try our local school for financial purposes. We made it 8 days into the school year before realizing the mistake we'd made and quickly transferred back. The atmosphere at Courtyard is like walking into a warm hug. The new principal, Principal Krause, is thoughtful, considerate and is the most dedicated principal I've ever seen. I know every day when I drop my son off that he is going to be loved, academically challenged and fed nutritional food (did I mention they have a profession chef who makes lunches EVERY DAY???) I am so thankful every single day that I want to that Courtyard meeting. It is truly such a blessing to my family to have my kids attend this incredible school.

We dropped him off on the first day, left the campus, and then received a call telling us we needed to come back immediately to pick him up because he wasn't old enough. If a child is ineligible, the registration should be rejected immediately--not after payment has been accepted, parents have arranged their schedules, and the child has already been dropped off. Having to return and remove your child from camp after they've already started the day is completely avoidable and reflects a very disorganized enrollment process. The age requirement is technically listed on the website, but it's buried in a bullet point and is easy to overlook. More importantly, the registration system should verify a child's age before accepting enrollment and payment. We were left scrambling to find last-minute childcare, and our son was understandably confused and upset after being turned away. Thankfully, another camp was able to enroll him on short notice. This experience left us with the impression that Courtyard School's administrative processes are poorly managed. I hope they improve their registration and enrollment procedures so that no other family has to go through the same experience.

After a break for a semester, I decided to look into programs I might have interest in and I discovered NCE Optician Technician! It's been going on for sometime but it was new to me! I got a call from Keenan and I thought I was getting into something shady... but I had nothing to lose. I decide to show up to the meeting and Keenan showed enthusiasm and he knew his position really well. I won't lie he got me into this program with a little nudge and I'm glad I got in! My first day in the Optician class seemed very intimidating but also refreshing. Everyone seemed eager to learn. Mr. C was an amazing teacher, gets straight to the point, teaches you what you need to know and if you have any questions that he might not know, he will find the answer pretty quickly. Mr. C has a very fun personality and honestly, I will miss this program. The counseling was great, the financial staffs gets straight to the point on your financials, and they help you with your externship! I'm starting my externship on Tuesday and I'm super excited! I hope whoever is reading this, whoever has bad eyesight and want to learn more about eyes, consider Optician Technician! It's a fun learning experience and I believe if a drop out can do it, you can!

A lot of the time, it felt like we were just watching YouTube videos or listening to teachers teach from old books and lesson plans instead of getting the education and hands-on experience I expected. I also experienced what felt like favoritism, and there were issues with the way some staff treated students and handled complaints. What was especially disappointing was the feeling that staff would discuss students negatively after the student had walked away or after a phone call had ended. That kind of behavior makes it very difficult to feel respected or comfortable bringing concerns to them. Another major concern was student privacy. I personally saw and received information belonging to other students that should not have been shared. Thankfully, I'm an honest person and did not misuse any of it, but it was still very concerning. Overall, this was a messy and frustrating experience. I would strongly recommend doing your research before spending your time and money here. Your experience may be different depending on the teacher you get, but I personally would not recommend this school.
