I love this place. It was my second time coming here for my bls training. It has been so easy to find a class time that works for me and is just a few days away. The teacher Ron is easy to talk to and he really cares that you understand what he is teaching. He teaches you the main things you need to know and he's not boring. He also makes it fun and has games on his screen that connect with the mannequins you are doing cpr on. At the end he gives everyone a cpr mask on a keychain. read more

I have renewed my BLS certification with Ron at MOR Safety Services in the past but failed to write a review then. I won't this time. The class was highly interactive and fun. Ron is extremely experienced and knowledgeable that he did not need to rely on lengthy and boring PowerPoint presentations to teach the class. He will teach you BLS/CPR skills in a way that you will remember. The manikins that we practiced CPR on were updated so you can actually see how well you are performing compressions and they let you know what aspects to improve on. The price of the course is also unbeatable so that's another plus! read more

Don't come at me, MOR fans - I had moved, etc., but drove back this time around, because as it turns out, I'd still rather drive 45 minutes for a great experience than 20 minutes for frustration. Best place to get certifications. Ron provided the best information. He told me to get every certification to make me a more competitive applicant. I initially went to get my ACLS, and he warned me that I will be back to get my PALS. Sure enough... I call Ron 2 days after taking my ACLS that I'm coming by to pick up the rental book for PALS. Yes, you can rent the books for $10 for the course! Ron told me about Nora and said that I will enioy her class... and sure enough again, he was right! Nora is a gem from the heavens. She make the classes so fun and educational at the same time. I really enjoy listening to her life scenarios as a nurse in the past, and boy she sounded like a fun, compassionate, & educational nurse. She's just amazing! Bless her sweet heart. Wow highly recommend. I literally called Ron Curry a week ago and told him I need to take my ACLS/BLS course asap and he said "is this thursday good for you?" I was impressed. I literally went online, signed up for my two courses and paid online. I then took the pre-assessment test for ACLS and emailed it to Ron. Done! Showed up to class, easy to find, in a shopping plaza with plenty of free parking. Just make sure you don't park in areas marked for a specific restaurant and you'll be fine. Class began at 8am and we finished BLS by 9am and the test is easy. only 25 questions and Ron tells you want you need to know to pass the test, so pay attention and listen to everything he is saying and you will do great on the test. Then Nora Flynn came in and she was going to teach us ACLS. She comes in bringing bagels from Noahs and cream cheese with also some dairy free cream cheese for those who need that. There are granola bars and coffee too. Nora is fun, upbeat and will make sure you don't get sleepy in her class. She is also very talkative, filled with tons of stories. So you will be engaged the whole time. I would take notes on what she says since that will help you on ACLS. You watch a few really good videos from AHA and then you go in the back room and work on a defibrillator with a group. At around 1:00pm you take your ACLS test, it is 50 questions and if you paid attention you will do fine. Then you are done. By the evening or by the next morning you will have your cards emailed to you. MAKE SURE YOU SIGN the roster otherwise you won't have cards mailed. I recommend this to everyone, so easy and fast! BLS/ACLS certified in half a day! Everyone is so nice too! ps. ron did tell me I could get CEs for $5 but I would check with your board to see if you get CEs for ACLS beforehand. read more

Over the years I have taken every class that MOR safety services offers. At first, I started taking a couple of classes to help boost my resume for nursing school applications. Then I became a nurse and wanted to add more certifications to better prepare me to care for a wide range of patient populations. I can honestly say that Ron and his team are amazing at what they do. They're teaching styles are effective, in that they tell real-life scenarios that help you better retain the information. Also, you're not learning from some Joe Shmo that just reads from a book. You're learning from RNs and Ron who is a firefighter chief in San Jose (among a plethora of other awesome professions). Well, just recently my BLS expired and I needed to get a re-cert FAST. I called up Ron and he fit me in that morning. Now, I was impressed with how many improvements Ron has made to the course! He now has Bluetooth mannequins that sync to the big screen and as a class, we all had a friendly competition for who could do the best compressions. You are also able to see on the screen the depth of your compressions, recoil, and rate so that you can adjust accordingly. It was very interactive and a lot of fun! This review is LONG overdue. I haven't been a health professional for a bazillion years or anything, but as this is my 4th time taking a BLS course, I wasn't expecting much. Typically, these things last between 3-4 hours, and they are dreadfully boring. Ron makes this not so lame! He didn't really talk about his background at length (seems like a really humble guy), but judging from his anecdotal experiences as a firefighter, he really knows the important stuff when it comes to saving lives. I was late for the class, because Google Maps incorrectly routed me to a residential location (sigh). But I called twice, and Ron picked up both times (while the class was already technically in session). [When my patients are late, I super judge them---Ron didn't come off like that at all!] Long story short, I will for sure be coming back to Ron in 2 years for my next recertification. And I will for sure be recommending him to all my health professional friends. And while I am a little shy about divulging the actual class length (I'm sure the AHA doesn't look at these Yelp reviews, but whatever), I feel like I have to stress that the class did *not* take 3 hours ;) read more

Although I work in healthcare and my current job doesn't require BLS, I had let it lapse 2 months despite the nagging feeling that I had to go renew it. While looking through good old yelp, I found Ron who was super helpful and quickly accommodated my request for an evening class the next day. To be honest, I was hesitant to call anyone teaching BLS because of the fires as I figured most instructors would be busy and exhausted doing their regular jobs being superheroes. (Not that the instructor wasn't as he is a Fire Captain) Luckily, I took a chance and called Ron and we set up an appointment. Definitely would recommend him because of his teaching style and humor. He highlights the main points, gives you rationales and focuses on proper positioning and technique. Far from intimidating, he focused on making sure you understand the content of the class, as well as the new updates from AHA. This guy is a fantastic teacher with world life experience stories as a retired Air Force , current fire chief and a bazillion other things. But very smart extremely professional.
