This was held at the King Community Center and it was a sell out event, even though it was free. We came early and had to park on the street due to the number of participants. Not only did we learn CPR, but we learned about being prepared for a disaster and some other basic first aid. The instructor was extremely funny, especially when he did his little routine about not kissing your victim during CPR and coming at them like a Great White Shark instead (something you definitely have to see). Thanks Red Cross for a great presentation, great information and the complimentary training manuals and bags. This FREE event was very helpful. I'll be back next year. (On a lighter note... when we were practicing "rolling" our victim and it was my turn to be the victim... I think my husband molested me. I had to break out of my "role" and rat him out. LOL. Well, I should have known it was off because I ended up in a dead end near old warehouses and what seemed like a junk yard. I tried looking up the address again to map myself and it still lead me to the same junk yard area. It was not until I typed in "Safety Training Seminars" in google maps that it lead me somewhere else. It was 15 minutes from where I was at the time. I ended up arriving about 20 minutes late because of this address issues... The good thing is, I had my BLS and PALS back to back so it helped relax my mind about the time frame that I had. Upon arriving, it was easier to find most of the doors you can see from the parking lot. I opened the door and there you see, 2 stations right when you walk in and another station behind this small door. Overall, the place was quite small, though clean. I'd come back again when I have to renew my certs again. But definitely be mindful of the address when trying to find the place!

Update: I picked up my jelly fish lamp from my class and I absolutely love it! It's mesmerizing!…read more It comes with the lamp stand which has a pretty long cord, two color changing light bulbs with a remote, and the attachment to hang the tentacles. (Some assembly required.) Attaching the tentacles can be tricky once you factor in the space the light bulb takes up. I ended up not attaching all of them and storing the rest as spares in case something happens. I would lay down a towel or assemble over a soft surface in case you drop a tentacle. FYI Jelly fish lamp pick up is typically two weeks after your session. Most other projects are available for pick up 16-48 hours after. I messed up and came too early because I was very excited (about 1 week after the class). Douglass went out of his way to disassemble one of his premade jelly fish pieces for sale to give me the lamp stand so I could take it home there. That's outstanding service! But I also wanted to help others so this doesn't inconvenience him again... Highly recommend taking a glass blowing class with Douglass or a member of his team before he retires! (If he discontinues the jelly fish class I hope they replace it with a workshop like Build a Bear that lets you customize a jelly lamp from premade parts available and help you assemble it there in the shop. That way you can see exactly what you're getting, potentially get colors that can't be made in the class like the dark blues, have different textured tentacles, and have the satisfaction of taking your piece home right away!)

We've already recommended this business to a few family and friends, and I definitely plan to take another class in the future.
