I signed up for my BLS/PALs here. I did the online portion at home prior to attending. I used google to map the location by using just the address provided. Well, I should have known it was off because I ended up in a dead end near old warehouses and what seemed like a junk yard. I tried looking up the address again to map myself and it still lead me to the same junk yard area. It was not until I typed in "Safety Training Seminars" in google maps that it lead me somewhere else. It was 15 minutes from where I was at the time. I ended up arriving about 20 minutes late because of this address issues... The good thing is, I had my BLS and PALS back to back so it helped relax my mind about the time frame that I had. Upon arriving, it was easier to find most of the doors you can see from the parking lot. I opened the door and there you see, 2 stations right when you walk in and another station behind this small door. Overall, the place was quite small, though clean. I'd come back again when I have to renew my certs again. But definitely be mindful of the address when trying to find the place! read more

I took a CPR class with this company in 2020 in Novato. I had a very poor experience, one that I still think about today. The CPR instructor picked on me the entire class for no apparent reason. I felt bullied, embarrassed, and humiliated. Not only was the experience uncalled for, it was very unprofessional. No one from the company responded to my previous post, nor my telephone call. I've been using their service for as long as I can remember and I always thought that they have a great customer service. Ever since they changed the training system to VAM, I've been having some difficulties. This year I had some issues with registration process because I signed up for the same day skills training but I had to find a way to get my online portion of training done too on the same day. It was frustrating problem to take care while working but it all worked out beautifully due to amazing, patient and professional staffs at customer service. Go elsewhere it's not worth the headache. I signed up for a BLS course and was never sent the online aspect of my training so I could not perform the hands on training afterwards. I was told it was an issue with RQI, out of their control and that I would need to contact RQI directly. I contacted RQI who made a help ticket and then closed the help ticket despite never fixing the issue or granting me access to the course. I was told I'd receive a refund and email confirmation with the refund information. Several days later there's no email or refund in sight. Go anywhere else but here read more

I have done an in person BLS course and the HeartCode ACLS and PALS courses with Safety Training Seminars. The HeartCode is so convenient and efficient. You complete the online portion of the HeartCode class at home. This can take 4-6 hours depending on how familiar you are with the material. They have an option to indicate how 'advanced' you are with the current topic at hand. Based on that, the class will be adjusted for your strengths and weaknesses. You can change the level of proficiency at any time throughout the course. I also love that I can go back and review the course, too. I will 100% be renewing all of my licenses through Safety Training Seminar in the future. read more

This is an all business, no mess around style of class. The instructor followed the video to the detail and was very matter-of-fact in his instructions. He was knowledgeable but wasn't very personable. He acted like he had a duty and a purpose and no one would derail him. He rattled off facts and directions like a drill sergeant without the crassness. I appreciate the pragmatic and practical approach as I needed to complete my CRP recertification training for work. While I could always use more warmth and rapport building with the instructor, I also understood this type of personality didn't exist in my instructor. I had my BLS renewal yesterday with John in Novato. He's a great instructor, takes the time to highlight the important changes and also makes it fast-paced so that the time truly goes by quickly. I greatly appreciated the changes to the AHA program this year making it more practical and about the roles of the team, more than lots of confusing numbers. I have been a BLS certified provider for over 30 years, but that's the first time I left the class feeling like I learned a lot and feel much better equipped in case of an actual emergency. This past weekend, I just finished taking this class. Everything went really smooth and the class time wasn't too bad. It was about 2.5 to 3 hours long and depending on how long you take for the test. They gave us enough time to practice some of the instructional things and I was able to get my BLS Certification. I was happy I was able to stay in Marin to take it without having to drive out to San Francisco or Oakland to take it. read more

I wanted to give my experience 5 stars but ultimately I could not justify it. However, if I had only signed up for the CPR portion without the first aid I would have given 5 stars. The CPR part is informative (and repetitive, which is good because you really get the hang of it and feel confident that you could perform CPR on someone outside of the class) and helpful. The first aid portion did not teach me much ultimately it was an extra two hours and basically covers just common sense. Yes put pressure on a cut, yes stab someone with an EpiPen if they going into anaphylactic shock, and yes ask someone if they want your help because they have the right to refuse. Pretty basic stuff. The CPR training was great informative and worth it all though. read more

Just took the Healthcare Provider CPR class yesterday. The Course: John dove right in and made the course as seamless as possible. He emphasized things that the training videos missed and chaperoned us through the hands-on training. Most importantly, he made information that was pertinent to saving lives digestible and engrained into our memory. I highly recommend this course to anyone who plans to be certified! Do it. Sign up tomorrow, heck sign up the day-of, if you can! The Prep: (If you feel you need it) I would suggest studying an online study guide, there is even one on quizlet, so that you can have the facts and numbers down before that way the hands-on training is more useful, but no more than an hour or two is necessary. This makes for a better experience. Also, it can be a confidence boost if it is your first time being certified or it has been a while since your last refresher. read more

JP is a very mellow, and easy going instructor. I hadn't taken a CPR course since I was a nurse 16 years ago. The dynamic and some of the skills had changed slightly but the result is the same-knowing what to do in an emergency. The demos were very straightforward with emphasis and skill building built in. My main reason for taking this course was to refresh those skills and learn how to use an AED. We have one in our building, but no one knew what to do with it. Strongly Recommend This Course! It is clear and direct! Starts with a video with clear instructions walking through a scenario, then paused and discussed by instructor, students demonstrate on a dummy, then continue onto next scenario. Very thorough yet to the point! You are given a watch-like device worn during class that resembles a Fitbit. This devices blinks either red or green during your compression performed; indicating if Green light then your compression's are the correct depth, rate, position and angle for a successful compression technique. I left after completing the 3 hour course with the confidence that I can perform CPR/BLS on any individual if the situation presents itself! read more

The class itself was thorough and efficient, despite the instructor being a bit robotic. He had clearly taught this class hundreds of times. My only complaint was I did not receive reminder emails or confirmation of the address of the class. I had to call twice to get the address (which did not match the my internet search) and help finding the class. Would have been super helpful to know it was in the Best Western hotel. Not sure if I missed emails in my junk folder, but felt like they would have gladly taken my $90 and didn't care whether I showed up or not. read more

Great class! Very informative and I feel I'm prepared in case of emergency to be proactive and not just a by standard!

The best thing about this class is that it is so convenient - I could choose from any number locations and most days offered more than one class time, so it was really easy for me to renew my BLS Certification in time. The class uses all 3 hours, so be prepared to stay the whole time- but it moves quickly to keep participants engaged. I especially liked the new format where we practiced rescue scenarios in groups, each getting a different role- it seems much easier to remember the steps that way, rather than just reading a booklet and watching a DVD. read more
