While I…read moreappreciate the inventory, the trade/sell process and customer communication have been very disappointing. Recently, I brought in an Xbox to trade. I was told I would receive a call the following day once it was tested. After receiving no update, I called the store myself and was told my offer was ready and to come in. After driving over 40 minutes, I was informed in person that you could not accept the console due to a fan issue--information that should have been communicated over the phone. Additionally, during a previous visit to sell a collection of Naruto Funko Pops and manga, I explicitly asked to complete the transaction that day to avoid another trip. Despite assurances, I was kept waiting until closing time, only to be given a rushed and surprisingly low offer. Clear communication and respect for customers' time are essential. I hope you will address these issues to improve your service going forward.

The owner Joe, really is a great guy which is why he is mentioned in every review. He's got a good little staff of employees who are always very helpful and kind. Need a movie recommendation? Give Joe several titles you've enjoyed in the past and he will come up with something you've never even heard of! You won't ever want (or need!) to use Redbox again after you see the selection this little shop has... There are several monthly plans you can subscribe to (we have 2 out at a time, about $25 per month). Only wanna rent family movies? There's a plan for you too, $4.99 per month. Oh and I mention the selection of video games? Yeah, it's extensive too! I hate to mention it, but I have to.... There's an epic xxx section complete with Girls Gone Wild and all the parodies. You're welcome. Pretty much every hit show that's ever been on television is there and when you rent a series, you get the whole series not just one or two discs at a time. Joe also takes requests and custom orders, so if you dont see something, ask! Don't feel like going out? Oh well they also deliver! (This is subject to availability of staff) You'll always be in the loop with the text alerts too. New releases and specials pretty frequently. The shop is located next door to the Auto Zone, so park on the street and not in their lot. Happy 19 years (October 27) to Joe and his Video Strip, wishing you many more.

They were able to use some CDs and offered me $12 cash OR $15 store credit. I chose cash. It was a nice exchange. The 2nd time I came I was not so lucky but it's fine. There were quite a few people there both times. I did not get any pics inside, but the new location is quite convenient, just a walk-in on Wabash. DO NOT TRUST THEIR GRADING OR LABELS!!!…read more I stopped by for the first time a couple of weeks ago to check the place out. They have a nice variety of albums, but unfortunately, my experience has been less than impressive. The day I stopped in, I purchased what was labeled as a 1968 "Near Mint" copy of Days of Future Passed by The Moody Blues. When I got home, I discovered significant noise throughout the first third of Side A. Since I live in the suburbs, I wasn't able to get back into the city for two weeks. They did take the record back, but because their return policy is only one week, they would only offer store credit rather than a refund. They took the record back, and I found a "Near Mint" copy of the 2012 remaster of The Beatles' White Album. The label specifically stated "w/ poster & photos." I even asked an employee about it before purchasing it, and they confirmed that the poster and photos were included. Sure enough, I got home, opened it, and neither the poster nor the photos were there. Needless to say, I'll be returning this record, and I won't be coming back. Two purchases, two significant issues with the condition or contents being inaccurately represented.

The most disappointing aspect was the service which was definitely not up to par. On both nights we were served by inexperienced young girls who probably were related someone at The Elks. They were scarce when they should have been checking in on our tables to see if we needed anything else . They never brought our dessert on our second night there but added them to the take orders we also bought. We gave them both generous tips regardless. The fish fry was good but I've had better elsewhere. The smoked corned beef on the next day was good but the portion size was like the equivalent of two (2) tablespoons of meat, quite inadequate at any price. The cost $20 per order and let me tell you one boiled potato, a small hunk of cabbage and some mini carrots sure don't bring up the cost. The place wasn't crowded on either night which doesn't surprise me from what I've witnessed here. There is much room for improvement here as hope remains that this Elks club may make adjustments and gain a greater reputation by word of mouth.

I visited the store specifically because I used to work with one of the artists in a downtown office situation. While I enjoyed his display very much, I ended up buying a beautiful summer-light caped shirt produced by someone else -- don't tell him, please! I chatted with the owner, who sounds like an Englishman, and he was very pleasant and excited to tell me about the store. They'd only been open one week at the time of my visit. Just a good experience all around. I'm happy with my purchase -- which, by the way, did NOT put me into sticker shock! That was a big surprise, especially for such a unique article of clothing. I feel like I'm walking around in wearable art. Highly recommended for the selection of goods, the variety, pricing, and customer service. If I have any complaint, it's the road construction in the area, but that, of course, is out of the store's control. One thing you should know: the receipt has a note that says "Consignment items cannot be returned. All sales are final." This wasn't mentioned to me before the purchase, but I can't blame the owner for that. We were having such a pleasant chat, I'm sure he was distracted. Just be aware that you cannot return what you buy. Whether or not they'll exchange for store credit, I have no idea. Shop local! It does you and your community good.
