There were a number of talks through the day as part of the festival and the one that we attended had a cheese-maker (blessed are the cheese-makers) a cider maker (who says he is still trying to perfect apple brandy) and a chef from the Yellow door. We made a point of making the 25 mile journey to try the food in this place today. It's unremarkably located down a nondescript side street. All three of us chose the prawn on wheaten bread and it tasted superb. We were all delighted with our food. I opted for the soup & sandwich and opted for celeriac & parsnip and it was really superb too. Service was also very good but the young chap forgot to bring me a knife & fork. When I went to pay the bill I decided to try some of the takeaway food - I opted for sausage rolls and chocolate eclairs. The sausage rolls and eclairs became supper tonight. They tasted quite good, and were a decent portion size but I'd have preferred had they been better seasoned. The eclairs tasted rotten - really shockingly bad compared to everything else. I'm leaving my review at five star as everything else was so very good but I can't figure how a place that's so good with a great chef can produce something so bad.

Overall a bit similar to an Applegreen Service Station. Unfortunately I just don't like it. Every item's ridiculously overpriced and the grocery selection isn't particularly extensive. Nor is there anything here you wouldn't get in other standard supermarkets. Plus, apart from a token couple of soya milk cartons and Quorn packets the vegetarian and vegan options are virtually nonexistent. I'll not be rushing back.

A meat one not the vegetarian option and it was £2.55 in total. The cappuccino is machine dispensed so it's borderline 3 star. The sausage roll had flaky water based pastry l, it was hot and full of the sort of rubbish I mostly avoid and it tasted as cheap meat and anything with 22 grams of fat - 13 grams of which are saturated - does. Hopefully next time they'll have croissants next time.
