Needed a water heater replacement the day after Christmas. Took advantage of my 79-year-old…read moregrandmother, pushed her into signing a contract for a tankless water heater that wouldn't be installed until 3 days later for $7000 total, $3000 up front. Didn't give her other options. Called another place (Mr. Water Heater) that replaced it with the same model 50 gallon we already had, same day, for $1400. The woman we spoke to was APPALLED that they would charge that much. Wahl put that it was an "emergency service" onto the back side of the contract that originally said she had 3 days to reconsider, which waived her right to a full refund, and they kept over a THOUSAND dollars of her money as a "penalty". The penalty amount was not listed anywhere, on the contract or the website. Clearly it wasn't actually emergency service, since they came during business hours on a Friday and couldn't do it until Monday, and someone else was able to put it in same day, not calling it an "emergency", for less than a QUARTER of what they were charging. Essentially stole an elderly woman's money the day after Christmas by feigning urgency and using legal loopholes. Classy. Stay away.

But I'm happy that Wahl was committed to great customer service and this round was exceptional. After 2 months, I am ready to move to the next round phase, painting. Thank you very much for your commitment to quality assurance. 2/20 Today, I am happy to report that I received a full commitment from Wahl stating that they will finish the dry wall work that is holding me back from moving to the painting phase. We are on the way to seeing this project to completion. I will update this review once all is finished. 2/10 At the time of this review, I am giving a one star to Wahl. I hope we can improve that. For the past 4 weeks, I have been trying to close the loop on an emergency hot water tank replacement that involved water mitigation and the reconstruction of the dry wall in the living room and kitchen. After several emails, photos and back and forth with the insurance company, the conclusion is: "faulty workmanship of repairs or improper installation of dry wall." Basically, WAHL left a gap on my ceiling because the person doing the work was too lazy to remove the kitchen cabinet to ensure a proper seamless ceiling. I wasn't at the house at the time of the emergency, so they probably figured that "mediocre" work was okay. Wahl has cancelled two appointments and I still haven't heard about their desire to correct this situation. Although they give a 3-year warranty on their work, I received a quote for the repair instead of the actual repair. I need this house finished. I think that after 2 months and over $17k in expenses, mostly for Wahl, I deserve this much. This review will be revised once this situation is addressed. Stay tuned.
