Our NH chums took us here on our last night before we headed back across the pond. We're up for anything seafood-y, and the menu here does not disappoint. They have a surprisingly varied choice, although for us, it's all about the lobster! I like the fact that you can get a 'lazy man' lobster so you don't have to do all the dissection yourself, just enjoy the end result. I'm afraid I didn't remember to snap any pics of the meal as I was too busy eating, but I did at least get a shot of the menu! It wasn't too busy so the service was OK, but I imagine it can get pretty noisy when it's full. But it's definitely gone onto our list of places to eat in NH.

That's right, folks. Another childhood favorite of mine. Though BLUF: not....QUITE as good as I remember them being as a kid. As they say in the south, let's dig in! So, I used to be a huge of the fantail shrimp. But, guys....I think....one of two things happened since then. Either my kid palate has evolved beyond those of mortal men, or these shrimp were legitimately prepared totally different back in the day. First off, where's the rest of the fantail at?? Look, I get that the reason they call them that is to accentuate the fact that they are the larger shrimp (smaller ones are called "native"). These things now are just....beer battered jumbo shrimp curled up in the fetal position. Plus, I feel like the inside of the shrimp were slightly translucent. Which, for those that don't know, is bad in the seafood industry. Technically, they were halfway toward being sashimi. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Back tracking to the fish and clam chowders the wife and I both got (respectively), both were decent, with the clam chowder leading slightly ahead. Personally, I found the fish chowder to be rather thin in the broth arena. Whilst the clam chowder had a generously thick broth chalk full of clams and potato. Both soups needed seasoning. All in all, 7 out of 10 for the clam chowder; 6 out of 10 for the fish. My entrée for the night was the fried lobster tails. Now, I figured I'd get these rather than the lazy man lobster because I had actually tried the latter years ago (before I was Yelping). IIRC, the lazy man lobster was pure, unbreaded lobster meat with melted drawn butter on top, which....could have been more seasoned, I guess. The fried lobster tails, while delicious in flavor, were kinda chewy. And It really pains me to say that, since this was legit Maine lobster and the sweetness of the lobster, while subtle, was still there. Such a shame. Again, 6 out of 10. It REALLY hurts my soul to ever rank anything lobster below an 8. Tbh, I'm not even sure what I would get here the next time I visit, other than the fish n' chips with a side of sea scallops. But that almost seems too easy, ya know? What WAS it about this place that made it so bad ass as a kid? Perhaps it was the fact that I didn't have to pay for anything, so I just shut the hell up and chewed. I dunno. I'll return. At some point. When the wife bugs me for another lobster pie and doesn't wanna be bothered with a large crowd. Weathervane is the place to go when you're looking for 3 golden brown fantail shrimp curling in the fetal position out of 5.

    Fried pickles appetizer.

Wonderful little lunch stop!…read more It was full of locals and regulars and on a wait for lunch. At that moment I knew I had picked a good spot! We chilled with the folks up front for a good bit before getting a table. It seemed we were the only people that had not been here 30-40 times before. Most people didn't even want menus and the sweet server ladies just brought them food without conversation at all. It's kind of old school feeling inside. It's an open kitchen and you can see all of the action. Inside is all wooden and rustic. It reminds me of my grandmas house in Camden TN. Not sure why. It's just really comfortable in here to me. The tile and fireplaces make super cozy. This place has some of the best chili that I have had in a long time. I dig the fact they give tortilla shops automatically with the chili. Win!! Thick and meaty and oh so filled with spice and love!! Cheese on top was a nice touch too. Really liked it! My French dip was fucking killer!! So damn big too! I could only eat half of it because of the the fire ass chili I had already eaten. French fries were battered type. Nothing wrong with that!! I drove around with this sandwich for two days of travel and ate it on the road later. Stupendous French dip!! C had an open faced roast beef sandwich. FIRE!! The green beans were so pretty and fresh too. She could barely get 1/3 down, lol. It was a ton of food. Economical! Hometown feel! Good people working and eating here! I love it!! I'm not even sure I could find the place again. I sure am glad I did the first time! '26 -39

Courtney was our server; she was excellent & made sure we had what we needed, as well as willing to take a photo of us. I will say... the aioli they use for the tuna crudo was AWESOME - it also pairs great with the chicken marsala. I asked for a 'house margarita' which they were able to accommodate. I noticed that the bar area was slightly more busy. Mind you, it was a Wed. evening in late Sept. I cannot wait to go back to order a few apps, paired with nice red wine. Elegant & romantic place considering the location. The dim lighting is a nice touch.

DoorDash refuses to refund her, as they said they restaurant accepted the order and confirmed everything on their end. We've tried calling and emailing multiple times to rectify this issue, and there's been no response from Diomede's. Diomede's needs to TURN OFF online ordering ASAP, as everything was processed for our order according to DoorDash, so they will not refund us. They also didn't even believe my wife when she informed them the restaurant is closed, and that I had driven there trying to pickup the food that DoorDash said was 'ready for pickup,' according to the restaurant. Will be happy to delete this review if this gets rectified and resolved, but as of right now we're out $60 and nobody seems to want to fix this issue.

Why did I wait so long to visit the Healthy Buffalo?!…read more My husband & I stopped in right when they opened on a Sunday morning. We were immediately greeted & assisted by the owner, Jason. He was beyond friendly & wanted to make sure our questions were answered. The freezers are conveniently labeled so that you can find the products you desire. Love that they bring in various vendors, including Fossil Farms (NJ) but also some local NH products. There are also other products, such as dressings, marinades, seasonings, etc. for sale. The store is small but very clean. Taking a left onto route 4 is a challenge but still worth a visit. The prices are extremely fair! There is also a rewards program where you can get $ off for every so many points. We signed up that very day & already have 58 points. For example, you earn $5 off for 50 points, or $10 for 100 points etc. Worth it to me! Jason said they are currently working on a new location in Epsom at the circle. It will have a different name & more of a butcher shop. He plans to keep The Healthy Buffalo open for another year, depending on inventory & how sales go with the new location.
