I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. I have recommended Unstoppable k9s to…read moreseveral of my friends since our puppy imprinting class in August. My 5 month old Whippet puppy, Jett, was very stubborn and not house broken at all. The training she received demonstrated an extraordinary difference in behavior. She was able to do several commands including sit, down, place, heel and walk with a loose leash. Also, she was no longer biting fingers, shoes or picking up leaves etc off the ground on walks. Potty training and kennel training were worked on as well. (She still struggles in these areas) Jett's training coincided with Hurricane Harvey. The trainers at Unstoppable K9s were very professional handling the event and kept me informed of their safety. They were also flexible with her boarding as I was stuck out of town during the storm when her boot camp ended. She did drink the standing flood water and was a little ill upon returning however Jett seeks out any puddle in her normal everyday life. (Aah) All my visits during the training were very informative. Due to the storm I wasn't able to visit Jett until the day her training camp was over. Gabriel observed Jetts interactions with me and offered to keep her a few more days to polish her skills. Upon graduation, an extensive "human training" session is taught to provide you with the skills to keep Jett trained for life. I found this to be extremely helpful and wish I could do a better job working with Jett daily. It is truly amazing to see Unstoppable K9s family dogs and know what level your dog could one day achieve with continued work and dedication. It's easy to see the passion the trainers possess and the dogs enjoy the training/ play time at their home. I look forward to boarding Jett with Unstoppable in the future and open to doing additional training classes to advance her trick skill bag.

Very surprised to see such a low rating here. After reading the numerous 1-star reviews, I see why…read moreand it's because almost all of them are missing the point and judging it based on some preconceived idea or notion that isn't remotely applicable. To operate at such a large scale with incredibly thorough medical care imposes a high financial risk for any business let alone one that is focused on pets found in horrendous conditions all across the state. I cannot believe there is 1-star review for someone saying, "you should just go get a bred dog for these prices." That's a different can of worms which is incredibly unfortunate to even read as that completely defeats the purpose shelters work so hard for. Needless to say, I'd much rather pay more $$ for a rescue than a bred animal so someone can make a pretty penny forcing animals to give birth for their pocketbook's sake. Now, why this shelter is actually amazing and does not deserve anything less than 5 stars (other than strikes for employee customer service experiences as of course those are more than valid): The state of Texas is so behind when it comes to managing strays and animals in general across the state. There are so many shelters that resort to putting down animals as there is such a massive volume of pets abused, isolated, abandoned, etc. I won't get into that, but suffice to say, the state/conditions a lot of these animals come in with are less than stellar. This shelter goes above and beyond for Texas' animals' wellbeing and ensures they are healthy and well looked after, not stuck in cages all day long. Moreover, they reach out to other states who are much more kind to pets and bring literal truckloads of animals up interstates to deliver to folks who will love and care for them. I think that's fantastic as it helps provide a need in other areas while also lessening the incredible burden Texas has put on itself with its mediocre pet laws and prosecution efforts. TL;DR - I received the most amazing 1-year old "aggressive breed" from this shelter who is an absolute angel and fixture in our family. The amount of care and trust they put in has absolutely wowed me and I am sure to attend their fundraisers and help in other ways I can. If you are looking for a life partner, please go here and help support the tremendous things they do for Houston and the state as a whole. Know that your money will be much better served here than elsewhere and while you may have bad customer service experiences, just know that the people that work here are more animal people than people people lol and that's a good thing!

Like the other reviewer, I too have a labradoodle and was very dissatisfied with the grooming…read moreservice performed. I was pretty excited to try this shop out as the grooming costs was pretty comparable to other shops + they included teeth brushing and are convenient to where I live. My labradoodle has a very complicated coat and can get easily matted without daily comb-outs. So I fully admit that my pup arrived with some matting on his chest, under his ears, and his behind. But I 100% guarantee that it wasn't severe enough to warrant being shaved so close that you can easily see the white skin under his coat. He also has scabs under his ear where he was shaved too closely and cut by the razor. When I went to pick him up, his eyes were still dirty and I had to ask to have them cleaned. It was very difficult to write this review as it is hard for me to speak negatively upon a small business. But if you have a labradoodle or any other type of doodle or dog who may have some matting - just be prepared for the worse. I was also charged a de-matting fee when my dog was fully shaved and nowhere de-matted. I will stick with my groomer closer to my job in the museum district who has done a WONDERFUL job grooming h with and without matting. UPDATE: The owner reached out to me with a generous, thoughtful offer to make things right - which was very kind. Their quick response to build great customer relationships says a lot about them as business owners, and is very much appreciated. Thank you!!

They told me about 4 hours. I called around 3:30 just to make sure they were on schedule to be picked up and I had to tell them my dogs name 3x in order for them to "know who he was". They told me 4:30. I get there at 4:30 to my dog being "mixed up" with another dog and told me they haven't even gotten to my dog yet there was another dog ahead of me and it would be 90 minutes. They had already bathed my dog so I picked him up and paid $40 for a bath after they tried to charge me $62 for a freaking bath because they thought he was a poodle. He's a Bischon mix NOT a standard poodle. To top it off I drop my dog off at daycare near my job in galleria and was initially interested in possibly bringing my dog back for daycare since it's close to home if the haircut went good. The daycare area is a joke. It's a room with dogs barking like crazy just wanting to get out of the gated area, and no staff interaction at all. They had puppy pads down and poop on the floor. I'll continue to go out of my way to Camp Run a Mutt in Houston. I will never be returning here.
