I had checked in advance with Nerds-to-Go and sent a photo of how far off the scanning bar was before I brought it in to confirm they could work on it. I understood that once they got into the machine it might be too expensive to repair and there were no guarantees. After taking it in and paying the $99.00 diagnostic fee, I got a call a couple of days later saying. It seems that they had done some more research and realized that given how far off the track the bar was, this was something they were not comfortable fixing and needed to go to an Epson-certified tech as it would require going into the motherboard of the machine. Although I realized that this might not work out from the get-go, from what I can tell, they did not even look inside. I am frustrated I paid $99.00 when they knew the machine, had a photo of the issue, and only did research after I brought it in. The people seem lovely and professional and I REALLY hope this was a one-off for the company and not the way they normally operate.

    As usual, I had a great experience at Impress computers. Was thinking of replacing my old desktop…read more(purchased at Impress years ago)and stopped by to see what they had. Talked to Bruce who was extremely helpful and not pushy at all. Fast forward, a couple of weeks later, I went in to ask about a printer. Again Bruce was very helpful and I purchased a Canon printer from Impress. Took it home and could not get the printer drivers to interface with old desktop. Went to what I believed to be Canon's website (yes, I typed in their site info) for help and somehow got a pop up of a help screen. I stated my problem and they asked for my phone number to better assist me. I hate to admit that I was scammed. I let them take control of my computer to see if they could correct the issue. When it failed for them, they offered to refund me. They wanted for me to go to my bank account to see if the refund had been posted. It was then, a light bulb came on in my head and I thought, I have been scammed. Fortunately, I had logged them out twice. I immediately went to bank and told my story, changed account password just in case. I don't keep account password info in my computer. I went straight to Impress computer with my old desktop and Bruce helped me again. I Bought another refurbished desktop and is having them move data from old to new after they have gone in and removed any viruses that may have been added by the scammers. One quick note. I know we do not like it when they tell us it will take a week or two to get our computers back to us, but we need to give them some slack. They are doing their best to do it right. A small business trying to accommodate a bunch of folks. All Impress folks that I have dealt with have been extremely friendly and accommodating to me. I didn't mean to write a novel.

They say "yes sir" and "yes madam" and "no sir" and "no madam". It is written, "let your 'yes' mean 'yes' and your 'no' mean 'no' ". Clearly their team has been in the US military. They gave respect which is a rarity with the youth of today "born with entitlement" tattooed to their foreheads or "I will respect you AFTER your respect me". Bits & Bytes Computers rocks!!!

I thought about it for a few hours and decided to head in myself to check it out and I always trust salesman when they ask specific questions and really listen; the gentleman behind the counter said that for my needs an upgrade for memory was not necessarily the best bet and as is would be fine. I was taking aback by his direct and honest opinion. I love the direct customer service as opposed to big box stores and with the 90 day warranty I don't think I could go wrong. I opted for an external CD ROM reader and external mouse and everything came to more than half of what I would have spent for a new machine. I brought it home. Everything was in perfect working order and I am 100% satisfied. When he asked if I was an existing customer when he rang me up at the register I said yes for like 100 years and he said we have not been in business for 100 years and I said OK well then maybe 50 he says how about 35. Very friendly and professional exchange highly recommend if you're in the market for a used desktop or laptop. These are your guys! Five out of five highly recommend will return.
