Avoid this store unless you enjoy being misled and disrespected…read more I stopped in to ask if the items I had were something they'd be interested in buying. I had pictures, detailed information, and a solid conversation with an associate who confirmed, "Sure, we would buy those!" They even looked up the value while I was there. Two days later, after loading everything onto a trailer and driving 30 minutes in traffic, I returned to the store--spoke to the exact same associate, with the exact same items, and the story completely changed. They waited until everything was unloaded before pulling the switch. No explanation, no courtesy, just a waste of time, gas, and effort. And then it went from frustrating to flat-out absurd: I was accused of vandalism and the police were called. For what? Expressing my frustration? Loading my items back onto the trailer? No returning their cart to the entryway from the parking lot. It was humiliating and unnecessary. The Anoka Police viewed the security footage and was like..."What a waste of my time." I could not agree more. This wasn't a miscommunication--it was a lack of integrity and professionalism from the HEAD - down. If you value your time, energy, and basic human decency, consider going anywhere else. The "Head Roach" clearly is better suited for sewers than customer service and sales. Suggestion: Treat people with integrity, Pawn't Waste Your Time America.

Can't remember her name, but she works the register and is the nicest person there. I'd go here ONLY if you need extra cash or want to buy something used. Overall a pretty decent shop.

A recent financial tragedy in the family made me decide to drive 63 miles to Lincoln Pawn where I used to have good service and best prices. I was trying to get a loan of around $300 to be paid back in a few weeks. I had a new open box gaming laptop, new sealed matching mouse, new sealed matching headset, and used matching keyboard. The resale value of this package is $600-$800 dollars. They offered me a loan of a mere $150, which is a complete insult and scam. I'm not sure exactly who owns this place now but Max-It on University offered a loan of $250 for the exact same items. Then on top of this they were rude, not nice, not friendly, disrespectful, not customer service oriented, and then on top of it accuse me of being rude because I was trying to make a deal not get robbed. He just kept looking up what I would assume to be the lowest price he could find on the internet it sold for so he could offer me the least amount. What a way to win a customer! With a 300% interest loan you think that these people could be a little bit more grateful that addicts, swindlers, and financially illiterate people are the majority of who keep them in business. Only stupid people give away their most precious valuables and pay 300% interest, only EVIL people take peoples most precious valuables and charge 300% interest. They deserve to be charged and imprisoned for the crime of usury. It's not "just business" it is principles of RIGHT versus WRONG! Never have I ever been treated so poorly in a business. 30k followers on my two YouTube channels, I'm sharing my story with them all.

They made sense with their pricing explanations and worked with me on extensions for pawned items that I went to buy back. All 3 of these guys are equally easy to work with and fair. If new customers knew what I knew when they walked in, they would feel at ease about their decision to do business here. If I ever need to go back, I absolutely will. Thanks fellas!

I showed up at the shop right when they opened and tried to sell my grandma's small Vizio TV but unfortunately it was too old for them to buy it so I put it back in my car. I went back into the shop with a large shopping bag with the intent of filling it up with DVDs and Blu-rays for my personal use and to resell on eBay. He at first told me that the prices listed on the individual Blu-rays were negotiable and that he could give me a deal. Well after he saw me on my phone looking up prices and scanning movies, he told me that he wasn't going to give me a good deal if I was just gonna flip them. After about an hour of browsing their entire impressive collection, I brought hundreds of dollars worth of movies to the counter and asked how much the DVDs were and how much the Blu-rays were. The sales guy said, "Honestly, I'm going to charge you the prices listed." Mind you, the prices listed on the Blu-rays varied widely from $5.99 to $19.99 which is insane for pawn shop prices. A fair market price for a pawn shop Blu-ray is $3 max, and DVD $2 max. I was prepared to pay that but the guy was such a jerk to me and refused to do business with me. He said, "We're not here for you to make money off of," (isn't that what pawn shops do to their sellers?) and even said, "Had you been more upfront about (flipping) in the first place, I might've cut you a deal" which is total BS. I think I might've just touched a soft spot on him by trying to make an honest living just like him, and I bluntly told him, "That's not fair" and "That's none of your business." Why does he care so much about what I do with the stuff I buy fair and square? I will never go back to this place and have warned all my friends, family, and coworkers. I will post this review everywhere I can. And THEN, in order to have the last word, the sales guy told me to take my "crappy monitor" with me and leave. His ego must've been more important than making a good sale. I could tell the Blu-rays and DVDs hadn't moved in months, maybe even years because they were dirty and dusty and faded and sun bleached. Take your business elsewhere, like Excel Pawn in Shakopee just down the road or literally anywhere else. The guys at Excel Pawn treated me with respect and were happy to part with stacks of DVDs and Blu-rays when I went there next. Avoid Pawn X Change. Unfair, rude, unprofessional, nosy, and unintelligent.

Tom found me waiting outside before open and seemed confused, and I explained to him that I was told by an employee that there'd be a PS5 dropping in their store today and it was first come first serve. End of conversation, though he got his fair share of trash talking Liz and claimed there was no Joye employee, while also claiming to be a manager. Enter tall bird looking lady. Directly after my conversation with Tom, this lady walks up looking confused. I asked if he she needed help, and her response was flat out hostile, said I needed to leave because they have security cameras and automatically assumed I was up to no good. All I wanted was to spend around $500 for a PS5, and these two neanderthals successfully lost our business forever. She said I needed to leave and that "we don't need your money", verbatim. If you're looking for friendly service, or even regular service that isn't hostile, do NOT come here. God forbid you run into the bird lady, because she was so rude to me I can't even see how Tom employed her (if he's even a manager). I'm not even a threatening looking guy and I was polite, and in return I got shooed away. These people should be thrilled that someone is willing to wait outside before they open because there's something of value in their rundown pawn shop. How they stay in business is probably solely because of Liz and the other apparently non existent Joye employee.
