Recently got back into tennis, so I paid this park a visit with one of my friends. This is a large…read morepark with several different features, including a pool area. The tennis area has 4 courts, and they are well maintained. All 4 courts were occupied, so we did have to wait about 45 minutes or so, but it was worth the wait. I noticed there are lights on the courts, and would love to try them out one night.

Thanks for your Summer 2011 programs! My son attended a few of the very diverse offerings including…read moreChess Camp and rock climbing. Both had great instructors that really seemed to enjoy what they were doing and made things fun for kids. The prices were reasonable. In past years, he has attended summer Lego camps but those were just too pricey for us this year. Upon hearing about the fun my son was having, a friend, who lives in the Central Valley, said that she wished her town offered cool classes like Livermore. FYI. This year I signed up for classes only a couple of weeks in advance of the start date. In prior years I stressed out signing up for stuff in April only to have a few camps canceled the week prior to the start date, due to low enrollment. This year, enrolling later, only one of the camps I wanted was full. Everything else still had openings. I called and asked if the classes had enough attendees to take place before I paid. This way we avoided disappointment and childcare juggling issues.

It's easy to have a birthday party here while keeping an eye on all the little ones running around, and the picnic tables are not too far from the road, which makes carrying food, games, coolers heavy with ice and water bottles, and presents (on the return trip) quite easy. The tables can't be reserved and are first come first served, but we usually carry a couple of card tables, table cloths and picnic blankets - with the plan being to just move the party to the lawn if they are all busy (we have never had that happen, but that doesn't stop my über organized better half from planning for this contingency). The only thing I wish this park had was a bathroom, or even a port-a-potty, but that seems to be a problem with most parks in Livermore. This would have been a five star review if it did.

Nice park. It's fairly easy to keep all your children in view here. The larger play structure is…read morepartially shaded at times. The smaller play structure may be somewhat difficult for children to climb as it doesn't have the standard stairs to climb. My main complaint is the ornamental plum trees, which drop lots of fruit on the sidewalks and cause a huge, gooey mess. The toddlers try to eat the stuff and it gets stuck on stroller wheels. There is a hill and a large field near the playground that the kids love to run down. Just beware of the mud.
