It's cleanly, she runs a tight ship on her employees to walk the floor and make sure weights are put away and attachments aren't lying around. I didn't see a machine out of working order, except one of the legs machines, and even then it was fixed promptly. There's a good array of options for whatever your workout is and choices you probably won't see if your standard commercial gym. Here's the truth: I cancelled as a founding member at $60/mo so if that isn't a good enough value to stay, the price for new members is stupid expensive. You're talking close to bay club prices for less than a quarter of the space and amenities. Recovery - there is none. She calls Glow House studio recovery for some odd reason. It's facial derma-planning and spray tanning. No sauna, steam room, massage chairs, nothing traditionally considered "recovery" unless we're redefining words. There's maybe 30 parking spots so if this place ever gets busy, good luck with that although their pricing is likely keeping them from growing and they use the guise of "exclusive" to justify it. But the real problem here is community. This place feels like high school mean girls club and a vanity project for the owner. If you peddle her clothing brand to get a discount code in your online bio and like filming cringy online content, you'd be best friends with the culture here. As another reviewer here said hearing Josh (front end tattoo guy) talking about other members - if you aren't in their "crew" or worship the owners egotistical wish to be a women's only gym, you're on the outside. Acquaintances of mine identity Lux as a girls only gym because it's the place self proclaimed "influencers" go to film content. You'll find tripods out almost every session you go. Imagine taking some of the most annoying online wannabe "influencers" and running a gym with just them as the work force - you get self inflated ego's, workout environments that are more about filming and attention, more posing, less lifting. Everything here feels performative, every interaction. Girls poking out their behinds and effeminate men shaking hips to film cringey online content for a brand they don't own and a company they must feel is their lifetime job of saying "Have a good workout." If your natural next step in life is to try and grow your "online presence" and like being around like minded individuals that care more about what they are showing online and perhaps want to peddle clothing and peptides. - you'll fit right in. When I emailed to cancel I received no response and had to call 2 days later to ask what's going on. The owner said I was cancelled to which I asked "Oh so you just didn't want to respond to my email or communicate confirmation in any way?" Severe Safety Hazard - Poor Maintenance on Tennis Court Nets…read more The maintenance of the indoor tennis court side nets at Bay Club Pleasanton is unacceptable and poses a major safety risk to players. The side divider nets have multiple large tears and holes. When running down wide-angle shots, players run the risk of getting hands, racquets, or feet snagged. Tonight around 7:36 PM on Court 5, my shoe got caught in one of these holes while I was moving near the side net. I lost my balance and fell hard, scraping my arm and hand while my shoe remained stuck in the net. Just last week, I witnessed another player catch their hand in a separate hole in the net and end up bleeding. Additionally, the heavy black bottom edging of the nets drags loosely on the court surface, creating an extra tripping and slipping hazard. Management urgently needs to repair or replace these divider nets before someone suffers a more severe injury. I am attaching photos showing the exact holes and hazards mentioned.

The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

Zumba classes still available when I decide to drop by again (you're too popular Alberto!) and no issues with the workout equipment. I also appreciate that they have a variety of channels playing so you can station yourself accordingly based on your preference.

Shout out to Coach Sarah and Paul who always have the best music! Totally makes a difference for a better workout. Would be 5 stars but recently I feel like every machine has no space in between and is right next to each other (I swear it used to be farther apart??) and the treadmill area is lacking AC to where I feel hot air vs the floor where I feel the AC.

I have stopped by the front desk at least 5 times, each time leaving my name and phone# for the mgr.- Matt to call me back, he has not once returned my call. Mind you, every time I've gone, the mgr is there, he just tells his staff to say that "he's not available right now" I've asked the staff there and they don't know what's going on, so continue to just leave Matt my mssgs. I have heard that they are working on finding a new instructor. Problem is, there is an instructor that already works in the Livermore location that has said multiple times that she can sub, she just needs the Mgr "Matt" to reach out to her. All of this info has been in my multiple messages left to Matt and he has not reached out to the instructor to ask her to sub, leaving all of us many customers/attendees, without a Body Pump class at all for a few months now. @matt, please follow up and contact the instructor that I left you her name and number, and ask her to sub on Thurs. evenings for the 5:30pm class, so that we are not all suffering with no classes at all to attend. We would all greatly appreciate your action on this. Else, what are we paying our monthly dues for, if we can't even take the class? The sad thing is, this was an easy fix that just required you to make one call a few months ago and it would've been easily taken care of, until you find a permanent instructor.
