I've been a member of this gym for years, but over the past six months I've started going to another location more often. The water filter machine has had an unpleasant taste for about a year now and hasn't improved. I'm not usually picky, but it tastes like metal and I would rather go thirsty than drink it. Recently, I rearranged a busy workday to attend a cycling class I had reserved and arrived on time. When I got there, there were still a couple of open bikes, yet I was told the class was full, which was frustrating. The instructor said I could wait and take a spot if others did not show, but I was not given a clear explanation as to why others were given priority over my reservation. Additionally, I've noticed some areas of the floor aren't as clean as they used to be. Overall, it's still a solid gym, but addressing these issues would make a big difference. read more

I'm lucky to get a gym membership with my insurance. The closest gym to my home is fitness 19. My husband and I went to check the facility out. We were shown around by a very nice staff member. The facility has lots of equipment and is clean. There are no showers or spa facilities. I returned on my own for a welcome. One of the trainers spent a half an hour with me explaining how to use the equipment. I felt his explanations were very good. The facility was not too crowded so he was able to give me a demonstration on most of the weight machines. Because I get this with my insurance, I chose to sign up. Although they have classes, there is an additional fee for them. In the past, I have had a membership at 24 hour fitness. Overall, I think 24 hour fitness provides greater opportunities. I hope that the owner Adam sees this review. Members have brought this to the attention of Austin the manager on numerous occasions. We really need more subs for the Zumba classes. It's not ok to sign up for a class, then show up only to find out the class is cancelled. Easy fix would be to add more subs. The manager refuses to do this. Please consider adding more back up instructors. Lots of woman love Zumba. They rarely use the weights. Membership will start to decline if they find other gyms with Zumba instructors. It's a gym. Plenty of parking right outside, and being in the middle of downtown makes it convenient for running errands before or after a workout. Lots of equipment and friendly customers, although it can get pretty crowded after work hour, even though so many of their customers appear to locals who have the ability to telework from home. This place is bigger than the other Fitness 19 gyms in the Bay Area, with a lot more equipment and offering more classes in their schedule. The zumba class gets full so easily for certain instructors, so they cap it off and it can get very crowded in the dance room. My favorite teachers will be the Thursday night and Sunday morning zumba classes. They really give you a work out while still keeping the steps easy to follow. My least favorite is the Friday night zumba instructor, she makes the steps too complicated that it changes every 4 count, so we have to really pay attention to her and think through the choreography , and that makes it less fun. Staff always greet you when you come in. I wish the wifi is better and faster because it can really slow down with a lot of customers hooked up to it. read more

I've been going to this gym three days a week for weight training. I have the flexibility to come late morning on Tues, Thurs and Sundays. I chose this time because it is typically quieter and there's not a lot of waiting time between machines. Today, a Tuesday, I show up at 10:30 and every single machine is occupied. Not one weight machine is open to start a workout. It's been getting more busy lately and a lot of the folks sit there scrolling through their phones long after any rest period is up. It's pretty frustrating when you have a set time frame to accomplish the workout and others are oblivious. I'm going to explore other options. Seriously- trust the other reviewers here when they say cancelling at this place will be a nightmare. They will throw your account to collections even after attempting to cancel several times. They will throw another yearly "processing fee" on top of "late fees" and the "collections" fee. They are counting on you to pay it under threat of credit reporting. Not only that, but this gym is absolutely disgusting- garbage and nasty build up on the floors that was never cleaned the few months I went here. I'd give 0 stars if it would let me. The front desk staff is not helpful at all when it comes to billing matters and will tell you their manager will call you and she never does. They've charged me multiple times for one month and tried to say my card was declined. In February I tried to cancel my membership as I moved out of the area and they told me to do it online which I did. Then four months later I get hit with a $49.99 yearly renewal fee and calls from their ABC fitness billing dept saying I have another charge of $49.99 coming up and owe $80 next month. For starters the monthly fee was supposed to be only $19.99 so no idea where the additional charges are coming from. But regardless this membership was cancelled via online as they told me to and they continue to say that I only "froze" my membership. They keep saying I owe them the money even though I cancelled it and have not been to that gym since January of this year. Additionally one of the times during my membership when I was using the gym they tried to bill my card the $19.99 and my credit card declined it for some reason. So they did the charge twice more. After that they told me they needed my checking account information going forward because of my declined card. I refused. This place is a total scam and the worst customer service experience I have ever had. read more

Decent gym for the price. It can get really crowded just like any gym in the after work hours. The crowd ranges a lot. You get a lot of teenagers here occupying a lot of space and socializing. You have your gym influencers with their tripods set up getting annoyed with anyone stepping in their frame. It's worth the money if you don't mind dealing with those things. Pretty decent gym with plenty of equipment one would need to reach their fitness goals + Friendly/helpful staff and community. The gym has drastically gone down hill with a change in management recently. All the machines are always broke and it's extremely packed despite being told the opposite when you first sign up. I've seen reviews stating how helpful the manager Austin has been but do not fall for it. He's only trying to pad his sales and to make himself look better. He will try to get you to sign up for all kinds of extra things you don't even need. It's all dishonest and all for his personal gain. Also check with your insurance to see if you can qualify for a cheaper or free membership don't let him trick you in buying anything more. But the best thing you can do is just avoid this gym all together. read more

Currently a member of the Fitness 19. First let me list the good, the bad, and the in-between. Good: 1) Clean locker room. 2) Plenty of equipment available even during high peak hours 3) Places of solitude do exist within the gym when yoga and bike rooms are not in session. 4) Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Bad 1) Don't know how to pay for a drink from the freezer never explained during orientation. 2) Don't know how to pay for any of the supplements offered either. In-between 1) Weekend hours especially Sunday closing at 7 pm is kind of rough. Overall, I enjoy the gym, the prices are great, and the atmosphere is just calm and focused. read more

The manager is not available to meet in person and after multiple attempts won't give a return call, won't respond to my emails. Absolutely best fitness 19. My favorite classes are Pilates with Cheryl and Zumba and Zumba toning with Cheryl, Dori, and Dee. I have made amazing friends in these classes and have gotten my health under control going to these classes. Pilates with Cheryl is my favorite as she pushes us to do our best while making sure our form is good and we won't mess up our bodies. It is a really good core workout. I recently moved to Livermore and found that as much as I liked the body sculpt classes in Livermore, the instructors there didn't look out for our form or warn us if we did stuff incorrectly and I had thrown out my back in Livermore fitness 19. Since then I returned to Dublin fitness 19 with my friends. Worth the extra drive for these classes! P.s. thank you fitness 19 and Cheryl for making Pilates two days a week! Since I have multi-gym Fitness 19 gym membership, I come here when it's on the way home to Pleasanton. I signed up in Pleasanton years ago and just continue to renew. It's great bang for your buck and the equipment is always clean and operating. This gym is a bit smaller than the gym in Pleasanton, but I like that when I run on the treadmills, there's a mirror right in front of me so I can check my running and watch in the tv in the mirror. There are hydromassage chairs and clean restrooms/changing rooms/lockers. There is no astro turf at this site, but in the back, there are yoga mats available to stretch after a run. Forgot to mention that this gym is located in the same shopping plaza as Daiso and 99 Ranch Market, so if you need to do any grocery shopping after, it's super convenient! read more

This is a "you get what you pay for" gym. The place is about 75% cardio machines and otherwise wasted empty space. Meaning that there are only a couple of commonly used machines. For instance, there's only 2 pec decks and 1 leg press. One or both are always broken. Right now, both leg presses are "broken." One of them just needs the shin pad secured but evidently no one knows how to do that. Be prepared to interrupt your workout to wait for equipment. It's not that it gets that crowded, I would say weekday evenings are an average level of busy for a gym this size. It's just that there's so little usable equipment that you are going to have to wait for what you need at some point in your workout. Again, at $15/month and your only other option under $50 being 24 Hour Fitness, it is what it is. The membership number seems like it's probably decent, so I don't see the management committing to the expense of more equipment and a new layout absent a revenue drop that necessitates change. Until then, you'll be balancing the bad with the price. read more

I pretty much only go to the classes at the moment. My favorite class is Yoga Flow with Kabitha. I've been to other Fitness 19 locations and yoga classes taught by three (3) other teachers, but Kabitha's is my favorite. I wish the gym scheduled her for more sessions - I'd go every day if she were scheduled. She is my favorite teacher at Fitness 19, by far! While some of the other yoga classes have more attendees, they are way too overcrowded and it's awkward being so close to someone else's mat, feet, and other body parts. Several of us in these classes are less than happy about how crowded the other yoga classes are. Kabitha is mindful of the potential physical limitations of certain attendees, giving us options of difficulty for each of the poses. She keeps sessions fresh and doesn't rely on a canned routine, the pace is just the right speed. I feel challenged but don't worry about injuring myself and she is always open to feedback. read more

If you're thinking of joining this gym DONT let me just save you the frustration. When I first joined this gym roughly a year ago it was great. Not too packed at certain times of the day, staff was friendly, machines and weights were in good condition. Over the last couple months since the new manager Austin came in it's gone downhill. I've overheard him multiple times trying to sell customers on how this place is never packed even at peak times LIES! This place is now packed shoulder to shoulder at noon on a Tuesday. Good luck getting a workout in all you'll be doing is standing around waiting for machines and if you think one is open think again it's broken. Not to mention all the friendly staff members were let go now when you walk in, instead of being greeted you're just stared at. Can't wait to cancel my membership. read more

"Magically lost 10 Pounds in a Single Visit!" I signed up for a 3 free day pass, and the nice salesperson, Daidre, give me a quick tour around the club. The equipment is all new, and everything is clean. There are lots of antiseptic wipes quite close by. I tried a brief workout on one of their elliptical machines, and then tried some upper body machines. Everything worked fine. There are many big TVs near the aerobic machines. Of course, they also have a huge selection of dumbbells. I hoisted some modest-sized ones, then moved away from the women bodybuilders, so I wouldn't be embarrassed. There are a ton of smallish lockers in the men's locker room--just bring your own lock. The locker room was very clean. Minor nit: The sink faucets do not appear to work properly. The main drawback to this club is no showers. That makes it less attractive than 24 Hour Fitness, which is which of course has large locker rooms with showers. On the other hand, the San Ramon 24 Hour Fitness just temporarily closed! The prices I was shown do not compare well to 24 Hour Fitness, considering the different level of amenities. The price/month is not bad, but they tack on an extra enrollment fee and a yearly fee as well. They also requires a one-year commitment. So, for the first year, the price for all clubs is nearly the same as a one-time payment at 24 Hour Fitness for all club. To be fair, I bet you can eliminate those fees if you get a special offer. So overall, I thought this was a nice, clean gym with friendly staff. If you don't need a full locker room, and can get rid of those extra fees, it's probably worth it. I am worried, however, by those prior reviews that mention billing problems. Special shout-out to the friendly sales people Mykel and Deidra. They were courteous, friendly, and helpful. But wait that's not all! After I visited the gym, I got an email announcing, "Your reward is ready." The gym offers a small gift card for visiting, but when I tried to redeem the gift, It turns out the gift is NOT ready--you have to go back to that web site in a month to get that reward. What?? I don't care too much about the reward, but this scheme is odd. Oh yeah--about that 10 pound weight loss-- here's the rest of the story: There is a magic scale in the men's locker room! You lose 10 pounds just by stepping on it! I hardly knew what to think, but another guest also proclaimed that he lost 10 pounds just by using this special scale. Impressive! The only bad thing is that the 10 lbs reappeared when I got home. read more

Fitness 19 is a good commercial gym. He has everything you needed, a lot of cardio machines, free weights, benches 4 to 6 squat racks, a turf field, dance room, and a bike room. The staff is friendly, and the equipment is well kept. The gym is clean and the environment is clean as well. It can get packed when it's really busy around 4 to 6 PM. It is in a nice plaza with a lot of parking. The gym membership fee is reasonable and you can use your membership for different locations. The only gym I would say is that it is a little smaller so when it's busy and there's a lot of people I could be really really packed. read more

I have been coming to Fitness 19 Dublin ever since it opened. I used to go to Fitness 19 Pleasanton, so I was very glad a Fitness 19 opened up right in our neighborhood. I mostly do the the Zumba and Pilates classes. The best classes I take are the back-to-back Pilates/Zumba classes on Tuesdays and Saturdays with Cheryl. With those classes you get a complete body workout - strength and cardio. Cheryl is a great motivator. In Pilates, she will make you realize that you are stronger than you think. She also makes sure that you have proper form to avoid injury. She always reminds us to warm up before and cool down/stretch after the exercise sessions. In Zumba, she constantly introduces new routines, which literally keeps us on our toes. Getting to dance to the latest tunes is a nice bonus. It is a nice gym. Facilities are clean. Staff are pleasant. Most of the people who go are serious about their fitness. Management is easy to contact if you have issues. read more
