They were also the most expensive out of three companies considered. In response to Intown's reply: We did pay $600 more to fix the hidden trim work. We didn't feel it was right to pay an additional $1,000 for that and other items addressed in the estimate. As for changing the scope of the project, the recommended paint did not perform as described by Intown. We could not see our way clear to pay an additional $1,400 on a $14,000 job. We used to be one of those 1,400 satisfied customers. Sorry we could not work this out.

At first, I assumed it was one of my daughters transforming her dinner into a projectile, but it turned out to be something much more concerning--a leaking skylight. I called my friend that had recently told me how happy he was with some work he had done at his house on a water damaged bedroom. He recommended Intown Craftsman and I called them that very night. I received a response the next morning, a phone call from Russ Melton. He assured me a member of the team would arrive soon with an estimate and even invited me to call him personally if I didn't hear from the team soon. There was no need, I received an email and a call later that day. Russ showed up the next day and provided an estimate for the project. While I had him there, I showed him some other issues with the house that had been on my "to-fix list" and he provided an estimate for those projects as well. The cost was exactly what I expected, and I gave him the go ahead to schedule workers ASAP. They came within a few days, even though it was all happening around the Thanksgiving holiday. Jose and another roofer (sorry, I didn't catch his name) showed up early for the appointment but waited out front until the appointed time. They were courteous, kind (even to my very excited dog), and had the problem fixed in no time. They even installed additional flashing to the second skylight (which hadn't yet started leaking) just as a precaution, free of charge. The office staff were just as kind and professional as the roofers. I worked with Deb Burris who helped me with billing and scheduling. The interface for billing was simple, the contracts and estimates were clear and easy to understand, and she was very knowledgeable and responsive over texts, emails and calls. I will certainly be calling them again soon for those other household projects. I recommend using them if you have any home improvement or repair needs.

We got a roof installed by them about 20 yrs ago and just had a new one put on by them. During that time they have come out numerous times to look at small issues that arose (nail pops, etc.) over the years. They come out very quickly, usually the same day or next day and they did not charge ANYTHING that entire time. This is a company that stands behind their work!! SO hard to find these days. I HIGHLY recommend them for roofing. We are currently looking to install new gutters and they are likely to be doing that as well. Great folks.

Two areas needed sheetrock and mud and the third just needed mud for the wall. I was hesitant to go with this company since they didn't have any reviews yet, but since they had the Yelp Shield guarantee (up to $2500) I took the chance. I am glad none of the other contractors got back to me because I couldn't be happier with the work and performance of the contractor/this company. Communication from the get go was excellent starting from New Years Day when I first reached out. Always responded quickly. I have had some really bad experiences in the past with contractors (especially drywall) and my husband is extremely picky so I was very nervous! I will definitely use this company again for any future work and highly recommend them. Alfredo Reyes is who did our work. He did speak very little English, but the only time we really needed to communicate (confirming arrival time for the next day) we texted the company and they answered immediately, so that was a non-issue. Alfredo was friendly, always on time and cleaned up very well. The job was completed quickly and on time. The price for the job was also very reasonable. Very, very pleased.

I was referred to this company from a handyman that was doing some work on my home. I spoke to the…read moreowner of the company. His name is Victor. Unfortunately, he had convinced me that he would be able to come out and upgrade my electric panel since I had multiple electrical things that I had added with a renovation I'm a general contractor so I'm always looking really good people to support me for the multiple properties that I work on annually. So I look forward to working with him, and he was very strong his supportive of upgrading my panel to a 200 panel and one of the homes were renovating When he arrived, he had a worker that called me or connected with me and told me that I did not need to have the upgrade. I was concerned because I felt like if he just added in double breakers to give me more room in the panel that it still would be a lot of taxation on the electrical needs of that house was pulling, but he assured me it would not. After they finished the work, I did pay them feeling that they were competent and understood the needs of the work that I was trying to accomplish. The next day, I got to the house and realized that my HVAC system had not been connected to the panel and they insisted that it had been. So I ended up spending $250 calling out an HVAC person to look at the HVAC system. Should there be an issue with the Hvac. He quickly identified that they did not connect all of the electrical into the panel. He connected it for me and then the Hvac worked without a problem but here I have now lost another $250 due to their lack of being responsible with basic electrical for this panel and connecting the HVAC I reached out to them on this and shared the issue and I was unable to get any responses back. I spent multiple times reaching out to them and nothing came back for any kind of response from Victor. Who did this work for me. Further to that I had an electrician come out to do some work for me to run wiring for a hot tub and he stated to me that they should have upgraded the panel with GFCI breakers, and it was not a good thing that they had left me with the original panel doubling up breakers because he said that we were drawing too much power and more than likely this will cause damage and I'll have to upgrade this panel in the near future They charge me almost as much to do the job of doubling breakers up as it would've been to replace the panel, and I feel very misled and absolutely out more money because of mistakes that they made. I would highly recommend that you do not use this company because they will not respond to you when they make do not care about making things right. If I had called them back in the near future to do work for 10 or $15,000 which I had planned to do on our next job that we're working on I could've lost so much more with this company. They will not call you back. They do not care and they will just come in and get the quick buck and leave you hanging if their work is not done correctly. Please, please please stay far away from this company.

Two weeks later, I had to follow up with Robert Philbeck, who then sent us an outrageous $8K quote. The scope of work was extremely simple: patch up some drywall and reset a cabinet. For comparison, multiple other contractors reviewed the same scope and estimated less than $2K for everything. What made the experience even more frustrating was the two-week delay, wasting valuable time only to receive an unreasonable proposal. Maybe they're better suited for larger commercial projects, but based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend them for residential work.

There was a communication issue mid-project that caused some confusion around budgeting, which made it hard for me to move forward confidently. Once escalated to Robert, his team helped clarify things and gave me a number I knew was correct. I'm confident that TSMG does not have this issue often, but it did happen to me, and once they realized that, they offered a gift card for my frustration. While I appreciated the gesture, at that moment I felt that it was not a reflection of the inconvenience I had experienced. In the end, they were helpful in closing out the project and processing a refund for the noncompleted work.

They have a very clear process for design and construction. It does involve a lot of meetings, but everyone there is so nice to work with, we didn't mind. Their architect found a great solution to the problem of adding on to our house without spending a huge amount of money. And, we worked with an interior designer on staff who helped us pick out fixtures and tiles. All very easy! Renewal's team is experienced with the 203K streamline loan, which we used to add onto our home. It would have been difficult to deal with a contractor who was new to this type of loan product.
