Over the course of three days, my appointment was rescheduled multiple times. I was very flexible and repeatedly said that another day was fine. At one point I was specifically told there was no availability that day, so I made other plans. Later, I was called and asked if I was available after all, but by then I wasn't because I had planned my day based on what I had been told. The final appointment was delayed again, followed by additional issues that prevented them from arriving as scheduled. I understand that unexpected things happen, and any one of these problems on its own would have been understandable. But after several days of changing plans and uncertain arrival times, I finally canceled and went with another company. Communication was polite throughout, but the reliability and organization were not what I expected from a mobile service.

Summer 2016: returning north from a week in Virginia Beach, my travel trailer decided toss it's axle on Route 1 just slightly north of Smyrna. With nearly 300 miles to go until I was home I wasn't sure what to do. The guys from Matthews towing rescued me and my family from the side of the highway and helped me get on my way again. They went above and beyond what I believe a towing company is responsible to do. I have nothing but praise for their professionalism, skill and kindness. Call these guys next time you need a tow. I took my car here for a exhaust manifold gasket. I was quoted $480. I said great lets do it. The…read moremechanic looks the car over calls me to say the one bolt broke and he may need some extra time to get it off. I say sounds ok. I come to pick up my car and the bill is for $800. I ask why and the lady says we didnt even charge you the full price for the extra time it took to get the rusty bolt off. Anyways I paid and drove off. car still seemed loud i look under the car and the exhaust pipe is dangling from near the rear muffler. I look under the hood and my exhaust manifold heat shield is also missing. This guy couldnt bother to tell me the exhaust pipe also needed a weld. It gets even better the work he did didnt even last a month. Car now sounds worse then when I gave it to him except now hes broken my manifold bolts, destroyed my heat shield and charged me $800 for the work. Dont be fooled by him calling you multiple times to tell you what hes doing...hes actually just making sure he informs you he will be charging extra. If you want a mechanic who will just do the bare minimum work on your car that it needs this guy can do it and will be ok to use your parts. If you want a mechanic who will look your car over as a courtesy and let you know what else is an obvious problem and build a long term relationship with you then this is NOT the place you are looking for. Hes also very expensive for what he does. There are other options in Dover

Even ig we call the apartment manager , they give permission along with the tenant who pays for the spot they won't come until the next business day . Of course the car is gone by then . Reason I say this is , my family was in a crash in summer. The at fault driver refused that competitor's truck to tow his vehicle because of the scratches and dents a vehicle he had them tow the year before suffered at their drivers hands. But Delaware State police have a contract with that competitor and he had no choice. My review is FIVE STARS! I love Harris' towing. They don't charge a hook-up fee. They don't charge per mile. And all that on top of the tow price itself. Costing a small fortune at the end of the trip. No, Harris Towing charges one price to tow your car. They don't charge the tow price, then an additional cost to hook your car to their tow hook, and then money per mile. Can you imagine how costly that would be? And with detours around Dover now? EEgads! Those fancy roll-offs and wreckers that the competitor has come about because of the cost of those extras charged to their customers. And that contract they have with DSP. And you'd think you'd get a friendly driver for all that $$$$ spent? HA! No. We used them once. The guy threw the straps around like our car meant nothing to him. That's why I thought your paint was chipped by those guys. Not Harris. We used the competition once and that was a costly lesson that insured never again. And I remember when Biddles towing was here. They were awesome! Never thought I'd find a company as good as that until Harris. Harris Towing is there when they promise you they will be. They also don't answer the phone with a bad attitude, and then put you on hold forever, then answer and put you back on hold as soon as you hear the phone ring in the background. Not like those other guys. Harris towing take care of your car. We had them tow our vehicles in the past and just recently. Perfect job. Very reasonable price. And the driver was very friendly. That is NOT what drives for the competition next door. We use Harris exclusively. And if they don't have a truck available they refer you to Matthews Towing in Smyrna. 302-824-4649. Luke, there is an awesome fella. These two companies are the top. If you need a tow and one price to get your vehicle where it needs to go, call Harris towing. And if they can't help you for some reason, they'll refer at the asking to a very reliable company that operates the same way. With care, and a flat reasonable price. It's a tow truck guys! TOWING! Not bells and whistle extra price$ on top of the price to tow. And that free extra chance of getting scratches, dings, in the paint because the driver could care less about taking care of your car. The at fault driver in our accident was so mad that he had to let them take his truck from the scene. Never use Bare Motor Works. This mechanic is absolutely ridiculous. I took my car to him in…read moreNovember because of a gas smell coming from my car. He came out and 5 minutes later he told me it was my fuel injectors and they were leaking. Paid him to replace them. Get the car back and the smell is still there. He then tells me it's my fuel line and it's leaking. Pay him and he replaces it. Still a smell. Then he tells me I have a leak in my fuel tank. Pay him and he replaces it. Get the car back and it has lottery scratchers and packs of cigarettes strewn about. Car drives well and no smell for about two weeks. Then car starts to stall out and not start. He says it's the alternator. I pay for the alternator and it doesn't fix the issue. He tells me it must be the battery, so I pay him and he replaces the battery. I drive the car the next day and it stalls out and I'm stuck on Scarborough bridge. He takes the car and says it's the fuel pump. He keeps my car from December 16th until February 1st saying it was the fuel pump. Today I'm driving it and the same issue and the car breaks down. Please NEVER use Bare Motor Works. I'm out over $2000. I take some of the blame for continuing to let him work on my car.
