He suggested I call LG before doing anything else. I called and the compressor was under warranty with parts and labor fully covered! Not only was the quote $200 less than the original company, Real Appliance Repair pointed me in the direction that will get things repaired at no cost to me. Literally saved me $1000! Actually, the white substance came from something hot sitting next to it and melted the knob. You probably ask, "how can that be with a new, metal knob?" Actually that was my exact question. News flash: The knob was made out of plastic. It looks like stainless steel and you could not tell for how much we paid for the stove top that it was plastic. However, all those knobs are plastic. Fortunately, Steven tracked down two of the knobs...we replaced one and have one in reserve. I suppose it's no different than the evolution of cars. We went from cars made from steel to cars made from fiberglass. There is even plastic in car interiors these days. Many high-end cars no longer have leather. It's called other things but is faux leather (vegan leather, sustainable leather, vinyl leather and pleather). Many cars have "vegan" versions of expensive materials like wood and leather. The knob has been replaced. The stove top is back to it's original state. Steve always performs at a very high level and we have been pleased with his service.

Overall, these guys were top notch to work with and I look forward to hiring them for future projects.

I called Pritchard to take care of an issue I was having with one breaker that kept tripping during storms. They told me that there were so many problems with the electrical system not being to code that I'd be better off replacing the entire panel, meter, mast, and meter loop. I wasn't too excited about the $2200 upgrade, but I knew the service was old and was willing to take their advice. Problem #1: On the phone call and when the electrician showed up, there was no mention that I'd have to pay $90 for an estimate. After the estimate was complete, he told me I needed to write him a check for his time (maybe 20 min). I believe in paying people for their time, but to give no notice ahead of time is a little shady. I have had several other electricians over for other issues and none charged for an estimate. Problem #2: The work was completed and everything seemed fine. Then comes the first storm and the same breaker tripped, which was our original issue. I write Gary, explain that the original issue is still a problem and he writes me back with a single sentence: "What do you want me to do about?" At this point, it was pretty obvious that there was no interest in helping us solve the problem we originally called them about. I wrote back saying I don't EXPECT anything for free, I'd just like some advice on why the full panel replacement that they recommended had no effect. Gary never wrote back.

The second time was to install a vent fan in the bathroom, which needed electrical run to the fan and a second switch in the wall. They showed up on time, worked straight through, did a great job and were clear about the charges up front (and at a great hourly rate). Update to my previous review…read more After my initial difficulty in connecting with Duhon was sorted out, we set a firm date to get things done. Their crew of three showed up at 9:00 AM and were through with everything before noon. I have lights at my side door for the first time in ten years, I have a place to plug in the electric mower and power tools that's outside the house, and my bathroom has an electric outlet for the first time in its life. The crew cleaned up after themselves well, so I didn't have to spend an hour sweeping and vacuuming debris. The final invoice hasn't arrived yet, but the prices given in the estimate were fair enough. I'm still holding back a star because of the initial communications thing, but I'm well pleased in the end and I'd use Duhon again.

I…read morewas able to get an appointment squeezed into an already busy schedule as most companies including this are usually booked up a couple weeks out which is fair . But unlike the other companies Brushy Creek Electric made and exception for my small but tedious job and where able to come out the next day . I basically had a Sonos SL One speaker in wall mounting kit that needed an outlet added to the inside of the mounting box where the speaker sits. This is so you don't have to run any plugs inside the wall but rather just plug the speaker into the wall mount itself . This isn't like a regular cord hiding kit where you just cut a hole up top and then another one next to the outlet on bottom to plug it in with the cord showing on bottom. It actually needs to be hardwired into the existing electrical wires in the wall and I wasn't about to attempt to mess with it myself not knowing one thing about electrical work other than hanging simple lights and fans. On top of the fact that my stud / wire finder was saying there where wires I could possibly cut through by accident behind the sheet rock. Also the fact this whole project was under my staircase which is built a little different from the rest of the interior walls so it's sketchy for me to just cut away. The kit is by ( Thenos ) not Thanos from the Avengers by the way which will pop up on autocorrect every time you look for the company on google incase you want one lol . I'm happy I chose Brushy Creek Electric , Greg was patient with my questions very neat with the work he did and affordable considering what I was asking him to do. He was also pretty quick with the job and made sure everything worked as it should before completing the job . I will say I called around plenty of other reputable companies and got twice the price and a longer wait time for an appointment as I did with Brushy Creek Electric. I'm not saying he's super cheap because to be fair all jobs change depending on the task and difficulty level which you should always consider . I am saying he will get the job done rite at a reasonable competitive price according to the industry standards and you won't have to worry about issues later because he definitely knows what he's doing . I say this because its not fair to make up this idea that because someone got a good deal on a job that you deserve to pay less than what is recommended and then get angry when it's not what you expect on a quote . There is always a standard most people charge it's their livelihood but this company is very fair with their prices and if they say something costs higher than what you expect to pay just remember another company might charge double just because they have a big head on their shoulders and haven't been around as long. The technician arrived and advised me to replace some bolts which should fix the pro lem. If not then purchasing a new unit would be the next step. We did as advised and it still didn't work- forcing us to buy a new washing machine. After purchasing and installing the new unit- we discovered the bolts he advised us to replace were in fact the shipping bolts. I would hope that a technician coming to assess a piece of equipment, given the model number/year of the machine in advance would be able to identify what SHIPPING BOLTS were. After explaining this to the manager they refused to refund the $50 fee for the error on his technicians part. Your better off going on YouTube to find a solution rather than calling their inexperienced technicians. The manager blamed us for the mistake in the end which only made the situation worse.
