This was a large, complicated project with challenging terrain, a mature tree that had to be preserved, and several unexpected obstacles along the way. What impressed me most wasn't that everything went perfectly--it was that the team stayed committed until it was right. Matt deserves special recognition. Throughout the project, he was always there. He coordinated the crews, communicated consistently, and, most importantly, made me feel like he genuinely had my back. The demo crew did an excellent job removing the old deck quickly and efficiently, giving the project a great start. And the full internal framing replacement of 3 windows, insulation and drywall. Project crew was great, and professional. Being here was several weeks, I worked from hime to let them have access to the backyard and inside the house for their needed repairs. They all worked without issue and concern, and provided necessary updates when available. Communication with the city for permits was at issue at first, and an initial inspection was missed. As myself and the team weren't aware it was taking place at that specific time. 2nd inspection, the inspector was several hrs late and made the contractors wait all day, and no work could get done that day. Inspections after were good. Only issues I noted were a number of nails left out in my yard, all in the same area vicinity. Where my dog also goes out to walk, so that was a little concern. But there was nothing else that occured, and clean up for was good before and after. Total work - $18k+

Once I made the decision to go with 3 Generations, I started working with Jeremy who went the extra mile to meet me at my work to sign the paperwork and select the type of siding for the house. We signed the paperwork in the late Fall, which is a busy time for them but Jeremy was always up front with their estimated timing, which I really appreciated. Once the work started, the job was completed pretty quickly. Again, Jeremy and his crew were very communicative and kept me updated on the status of the work until it was done. The steps in front of the house needed to be replaced. A number of contractors asked me to take…read morepictures of the steps with my smartphone and text it to them. It would be very difficult to give an accurate estimate that way because there's a lot of dry rot underneath the steps which needed to be inspected in-person. R&B Framing was the only company which showed up to take a look at the steps. Two days later, Jose Cedillo emailed me an estimate and thoroughly answered my questions. His company uses Redwood or cedar wood for Victorian homes, though cedar does cost extra. We were surprised by how fast his crew finished the job. They showed up on April 9th, early in the morning and worked until the evening. They arrived the next day to finish the rest of the steps and the banisters. He also painted the banisters according to the original white creme color. If it's a legacy house, they'll stick to the originality of the Victorian architecture. (Per building code regulations, when a house is considered a legacy house the paint must be the original--or close to the original color--of when the house was first built.)

Using the existing substructure that was still viable, they built this beautiful redwood deck and used a stain that we selected. All boards were stained on all sides prior to construction and protective tape was applied to the substructure so that there was no wood to wood contact. All joints were tight and gaps were consistent. Workers were polite and pleasant and on time and cleaned up after themselves . Great job!!! Highly recommended!
