I grew up in Arlington Heights, but moved to CA for service with the Marine Corps in 1977 (and stayed, retiring from the Corps). My dad always bought Wayne's pizza as a treat for the family and we loved it, especially the square cuts. My favorite toppings from Wayne's were simple; mushrooms, olives, and sausage - my go-to ingredients to this day. I have fond memories of those days and glad they're still open all these years later! Not her favorite pizza we ordered it uncut at the suggestion from our host at the VRBO and we're glad we did because we're pretty sure the cheese is so abundant. Wayne's is a classic Love the alley on the east side that you drive through to get to the back to pick up your pizza! Inside the place is impeccable!! Fast prompt service, friendly team as well. Wayne's has been our family "go to" pizza for over two decades. The thin crust pizza is excellent, but it's not cheap. Keep in mind, there are much better deep dish options like Lou Malnati's and Gino's East, but it is a very competitive thin crust pizza. Thin crust (4/5) is very good--cracker thin, but tasty. Sauce (4/5) is also good and sweet, just the way I like it. Cheese (4/5) is lean, but good. I prefer a bit more on mine. Toppings (5/5) are exceptional! We normally get pepperoni and onion. The onion is very thin cut--outstanding! They also have a very good gluten free crust--tastes like regular crust! Highly recommended. read more

Long time Chicagoan, first time having Wayne's pizza...their pizza is freaking awesome, so good!!! Wayne's is a hole in the wall non-descript pizza joint. You pull in the back and that's where you pick up your order. Got a cheese with garlic and a plain cheese thin crust, man it was some of the best pizza, forget the chain restaurant, Wayne blows them out of the water. I've done Wayne's for years going back to late 80 that's when i discovered that the crust was much better well done and always ordered Pizza that way recommended to anyone asking . but in the last 5 years could not get them to cook as wanted complained and nothing ,went over a year without ordering about 2 months ago I ordered well done sausage green pepper large( soggy center) but ingredients is great ,now ordered again same as always well done . Bottom had burnt spots from I believe dripping not from being well done. Crust was also chewy though out and wet center. Been ordering for almost 16 years and have had a few minor issues but nothing major. The prices for chicken wings and some other items are outrageous now. Last night I ordered a pizza and was told 60 minutes which in the past has always been an over estimate and the food arrives early. After nearly 75 minutes I called and was told it would be 10 minutes. After another 30 minutes I called to cancel and was told it's on it's way. After yet another 30 minutes it showed up but I had already eaten so I refused delivery. Now I sit and wait to see if they reverse the charges on my card. Place used to be very consistent. Not sure what has happened but this pizza was ordered this past Saturday well done. As you can see it's not even done and it looks like they may have added the spinach after the fact. I've honestly never seen such a poor attempt in 50 years. I've been ordering from Wayne's for years. The quality hasn't been as good and they have significantly raised their prices. On the most recent order a 4 ingredient medium pizza and breaded mushrooms was almost $38. The mushrooms were $7 and there were only 8 mushrooms in the bag. Additionally they were skimpy on the sauce and the pizza was dry. The final kicker is the pricing on their website points to using their app to see the pricing. For which, it would have been $26. $11 less. I included a screen shot to show this. Not sure what has changed there but not the place I've known for over 20 years. We have going to Wayne's for 40 years. Always good service and food. My kids worked there in high school and it was family owned by great people. Apparently they have sold the business and I had a bad experience with my order. The food was fine but when I called to order, the person taking the order did not understand what I was trying to order. he then proceeded to tell me I ordered incorrectly. This is the same order I have been ordering for 40 years. When I went to pick it up, he again corrected me and was very rude. When I left I could hear him making fun of me to the delivery man. This is a good one... I ordered a pizza tonight. It's game day so I expect longer delivery times. I order online at 6:10 pm, after the 75min pass of estimated delivery time I figure they're just busy tonight. I wait another 25 minutes and thought I better call. Dom for some reason knows my order when all I said was I'm checking on a delivery that's 30 min late... odd, Saturday night at dinnertime... He get back on the line after a short hold and said the driver delivered the pizza to my address. Not true. I have a cam recording at my front door and said I can send him 2 hrs of footage to prove the driver did not deliver it to my address. He says he'll remake and deliver another pizza no charge, I say ok. At this point I wouldn't get it after 2-2.5 hours after I ordered but at least he made the effort. We hang up. A minute later he calls back and says, My manager said we can't give you a pizza for no charge since we delivered it... YOU DIDN't DELIVER IT TO ME!!!! What kind of manager is this?! Even if it's not a free pizza do SOMETHING for YOUR SCREW UP! So they want to charge me full price to get me a remade pizza I never got in the first place 2.5+ hrs later... REALLY?! He says I can give you a credit, I say no I wan't a full refund not a credit, and I don't want the pizza. He says ok we'll refund you. We hang up. I arrange another food order from someone else online and get multiple calls from Wayne's. I don't bother answering because they already screwed up my family's evening and I just wanted to eat a late meal in peace. After, I listed to the 2 messages left and it's 2 different guys saying call them back and they'll remake the order and deliver it... REALLY! And charge me 100% still!! LOL! What a joke operation! I have ordered from Wayne's 5 times the only competent driver was my first one. The next 3 times the guy (same guy) puts pizza on his seat so it shifts as he's driving, one of those times the pizza is jammed into a corner and ruins 1/4 of the pie. This company doesn't answer emails sent to their Support email listed on Facebook as I try to describe a driver issue. Now another driver is incompetent and can't deliver to the correct address. I do have the number on the house so there is no excuse for delivering to the wrong address. This place has too many bad drivers! I deliver food and there is no reason for this! I had not had a Wayne's pizza for quite a while - we no longer live in their delivery area, but the other night I was in the neighborhood. Wayne's sounded like a great idea. I also noticed they apparently have new owners based on some reviews here. Maybe that's old news, but I had to get Wayne's to satisfy my pizza craving. I picked up a basic small sausage and it was just as good as I remember. I was even a few minutes early so I got it right out of the oven. Super hot! And the pizza was amazing. Giant hunks of sausage! Perfect amount of cheese and sauce and a nice sprinkling of oregano and spices on top. I ate several pieces and was completely full!
