Back in August 2024, during the brutal Texas heat, I accidentally overheated my SUV and completely blew out the engine. The tow truck driver told me it was "unrepairable" and suggested I start looking for a new vehicle. Still, I decided to get a few estimates on engine replacement--and every quote I got ranged from $5,000 to $8,000. Thankfully, a friend referred me to Joel, even though I live over an hour away. Let me tell you--it was so worth the drive. Joel and his team replaced my engine for only $2,400! On top of that, I was able to get some additional maintenance done while the vehicle was already in the shop. What stood out most to me was the honesty and transparency from start to finish. I never once felt pressured or taken advantage of. I'm beyond thankful I was referred to Five Star Auto Service--they've earned a customer for life.

I researched several places and it became such a chore. I'm a proactive type of person vs. reactive and wanted everything checked and serviced at a reasonable and fair price. With AI and Google is becoming increasingly more difficult to get scammed. I didn't do what I usually do with requesting the old parts that were removed from the car but I figured with the paperwork and warranty that I'd be okay. Overall it was a Fantastic experience. I was on the fence with two of the repairs and the discussions I had with them, I chose not to do one of them since I'm not the owner of the car. They explained it could wait age I cos give her the option to move forward with the others. Yes, I paid a pretty penny but they were fair, fast, and detailed. Is definitely used then again and recommend them to my friends in the DFW area.

My car was involved in a front end collision and needed a new front bumper, properly wired headlights and suspension work. Miguel hooked me up with a great estimate that would include fixing everything mentioned, a paint correction and fixing the small hail damage on my roof, hood and trunk. Turnaround time was about a 1.5 weeks. Quality was incredible; the paint was dealership quality. Communication was good as well. Despite the long drive from Plano to the shop in Arlington, the price, quality and overall service well made up for it.

But the expertise and service sure will. The owner, Wolf, has been doing this for decades and really knows about cars. Their guys replaced my entire engine in less time than it took the dealership to even look at and diagnose my car. If I'd have towed my car directly to Dallas Auto Hospital instead, it would have saved me a thousand dollars in towing and replacement car rental fees. The other great thing about DAH is that they will try to find the least expensive way to fix the car - they won't mysteriously "find" all these problems that don't really exist, just to jack up the bill. Because my auto expertise is (to be generous, LOL) extremely limited, I rely on honest people like this to tell me what's going on. Wolf also gave me some helpful tips like "never let your gas tank get below 1/4 of a tank, because it puts sediment into the system." Great to know, and I'd never heard that. There are customers who've moved away from the Metroplex, who still bring their cars to DAH - folks who've been using them for 20+ years. That tells you a lot.

I start out telling them the issues I have with my current rig. They already know what's wrong with it before I finish. Then, I end up staying a while shooting the Rover-stories with "the boys" pretending I'm one of them. Super nice gentlemen. They replaced my air bellows/struts for 1/2 the price of the dealer. They replaced fuses for free that two Dallas dealerships told me would cost over $750. The replaced a seatbelt buckle for $240 that the dealer was going to charge $875. I just had my tire sensors replaced a week ago at a national dealer and they lost my wheel lug key. North Texas British had one sitting around the shop and just gave it to me. And they had it done in 48 hours! What's not to love? I have done business with another independent here in Dallas, that shall not be named.
