Really appreciate both Kelard and Yola for their hard work and detail! They would call me all the time with updates on different part/product, delays, which we really needed to hear through the remodeling process. Also, Kelard helped give me advice for a friend of mine in Los Angeles that burnt his marble counter with a hot cooking pan. He gave me what a normal buffing job estimate would be in a big city after looking at my friend's photos. Really kind of him. StoneTops For Less, Rueben…read more I have been meaning to write a review of these guys for a while. It has been a few years since they did my bathroom stone, and I was very happy with it. This last year I went back to them for my kitchen stone and installation. (They do both). Not only did they do a good job, but they went out of the way to help me. I had found a couple of remnants at another stone yard, and they picked up those on the way here. They were for my laundry room and my built-in desk. Rueben is a man of integrity with whom I would do business again, if I had any more places to put stone.

Jeff, the owner, is a super cool guy. he's the kind that makes you want to shop local. he greets you with a smile, remembers your name (after one short visit too), gives you ideas and honest opinion, lets you borrow samples without anything down, even gives you a good discount if he likes you! LOL you'd think his store was small but it carries a lot of the same stuff we saw elsewhere: not having the option to 300 different kinds of subway tiles also worked to my advantage - now i could finally finalize on one. when i showed him a picture with the product code from something i saw in home depot, he offered to order in for me and matching the price (so i didn't have to go two places for everything), except there were problems for him to get the shipment somehow so we ended up going back to HD -- they had a problem with shipment too. so yeah he did give us a break on the pricing (maybe bc our order was pretty sizable?), but that's not the only reason why i gave him a 5-star rating. like said earlier, Jeff is easy to talk to and is very helpful along the process; we even started chatting about his children and stuff... the human connection that you don't get at a big box store, and he's not all about making profits. he saved my phone number in his system so even when I called weeks later, he could greet me by my name, AND he remembers what kind of products I've ordered. pricing is also very compatible to bigger establishments - another reason i used to be wary of shopping local but he's quite negotiable. he owns the business and has been there too long, so he is pretty much at a "whatever goes" stage...also why i said call before you head over if you want to take advantage of their "late closing" hours on a certain day - he may just close early to go fishing if nothing's going on by a certain time, as he revealed. maybe he took a liking on us so he was cool with us, but i would bet that if you don't show up with a stick up your arse, you would get the same treatment too. p.s. he has also hinted that he might want to retire soon (maybe in a couple years?), so get to know this guy before he closes for good!

Their designer (Tong) helped us with a plan to combine two small awkward rooms into one bathroom and worked within our budget to give us a much more functional space. Work started as scheduled with Steven as our PM and he kept us well informed along the way, handling any issues as they arose and minimizing disruption to the rest of the house. The NKB carpenters (Michael and Jorel) were excellent and kept things moving onsite along with some great subcontractors for plumbing, electrical and tile that Steven aggressively coordinated to ensure the project progressed quickly. The end result was better than we hoped and we only had one small change order for a late change we made to the plan. We truly appreciated the professionalism and flexibility of the whole NKB team from the design process with Tong through final payment with Adelya in Finance. They kept us on schedule and on budget with no surprises. We now have a beautiful bathroom that we will enjoy for years to come!
