We could not possibly recommend RK Construction enough. We just completed a large project that…read moreincluded an addition, kitchen and bath renovation, heat pump system install, floor installation and refinishing, painting, and exterior work including new siding and patio. We were continuously put at ease during what should have been a completely overwhelming process by the kindness and expertise from Ralph, Manny, Mike, Tracey, and all their vendors and subcontractors. On top of providing top-tier service and doing beautiful work, RK came in under time and on budget. During the planning phase, Ralph was easy to communicate with, very detailed and patient in his explanations of the process, and presented us with exactly the design we asked for. During the construction phase, Manny served as job supervisor and was onsite every day caring for our home as though it was his own. My husband and I both work hybrid schedules and the bulk of the work was done during our daughter's summer vacation, so at least one of us was always in the way of the work being done. Manny, Mike, and everyone respected our space, cleaned the site daily, and took extra care to accommodate our needs. Manny was a wonderful partner to us throughout the process - he knew when to execute exactly what we wanted and he knew when we were indecisive or overwhelmed and how to guide us. He served as conductor and coordinator of so many moving parts and made it seem smooth and seamless. Throughout the process, we met with vendors for cabinetry, appliances, tile, countertops, and plumbing fixtures as well as their subcontractors for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, tiling, and hardscaping. The respect and admiration each of them had for Ralph and all of the RK crew was evident in talking to them and served as a huge reassurance for us. We solicited quotes from three contractors. RK Construction did not come in at the lowest price. They use high-quality products and their craftsmanship is intentional and meticulous in a way that earns the higher price tag. You will not regret spending a little more when the process and results are everything you'd expect and more.

Our modest Cape house was in need of some work and our former neighbor was raving about the work…read morethis company did for their daughter. Well, I can't tell you what kind of work they do because they never bothered showing up and this is after rescheduling multiple times. I took time off from work to drive down just to meet them (and battle 2 hours of traffic). What's with these contractors doing no-shows? Business must be good to treat people like this. No, thanks. Glad they showed their colors before we engaged their services.

Update: Finally got delivery scheduled for Tuesday 10-11AM. At 11:45 I called to inquire where…read morethe delivery was. I was told they'd call me back. at about 1 I checked my email and there was a message that the truck got a flat and could they reschedule. I wrote back sure any time after 4:30 that day would be great. Another email said sure we can deliver after 4:30. At 4:50 (since they close at 5) I called and had to threaten to cancel the credit card payment. Vanity Showed up at 5:15. Later that night I emailed them back that the vanity was installed and when can they come to template the top. It's two days later and two emails later (another one this morning) and a phone call and they'll get back to me. Bill Shea's just gave me a quote for the same price for the same counter top, they'll come next week to template and should have the countertop ready for install in 10 days from that. I think I'm going to dispute the credit card charges if I don't hear back by the end of today and go with Bill Shea's. AVOID VANITY WORLD unless you want a never ending project. 2nd Update: Went to VW to ask for refund for the countertop part of my bill. They refused and told me to "Get the F*&k out". Contesting with credit card company. Looks like this will end up in small claims.

I would not recommend this store. To anyone. Ever. The…read moreproduct selection was good but the customer service and execution was miserable. George was nice enough during the order process, but when there was a problem with the product he took no responsibility and offered no apology. Acknowledgment goes a long way, but instead he just ordered another one and moved on. Nothing about the exchange was pleasant or noteworthy. Even now, months later, I still feel unsettled. Next time I'm happy to pay a little bit more and go someplace else. Trust me, there are other bath and kitchen shops that will treat you right. Keep looking.
