Follow Lois's directions, OR text Angel and she will send you a detailed map and directions. It's so convenient that you can text her. I'll be honest, at first I walked in and didn't know what to do. All the doors were shut so I just sat and waited until my appointment time. Angel came out and welcomed me inside. Now, I never know what to think of other reviews but Angel is just as amazing as these reviews make her sound. Or even better. We chatted the entire time, even shared pictures from the Amalfi coast. She is so friendly and makes you feel right at home from the first meeting! As for my eyebrows, this isn't your run of the mill brow job. She waxed, tweezed, trimmed, lotioned, etc. This was above and beyond the typical wax job. Not one hair was left out. Angel is the Anastasia of Beverly Hills in Naperville.

During the day, parking here has not been an issue, can't speak to evenings and weekends. See my earlier review for specific directions because you enter the parking lot from North Ave. which is a one-way street heading west. (first street south of the Naperville train station). Enter the rear door from the parking lot, do not go to the front door of the building. There is a small waiting area as soon as you enter. After all this time stuck at home, treat yourself and go get beautified.

Update to Original Review: I had to come back and update my…read moreoriginal review to reflect the great customer service I received following the incident with Sabina. I received a call from the general manager within 24 hours. She was very kind and professional. She informed me they were extremely upset with how my appointment was handled and confirmed that all wax specialists should be following EWC's 9 minute grace period policy. She assured me that disciplinary action was being taken and that my next wax service would be complementary. She had already added the free service to my account, and offered to book my next appointment for me. I will definitely be returning to EWC. Very impressed with how they handled this situation and will continue to book with the other wax specialists at this location who all do a fantastic job. Original Review with 1 Star Rating: I've been a loyal customer of European Wax Center for the last 3 years. Always received good service and never had any issues, until tonight when Sabina cancelled my appointment, without notifying me, for being FOUR MINUTES LATE. She says it was 5 minutes, but what's the difference. European Wax Center's policy is that if you're more than 9 minutes late for your appointment, you'll be marked as a no show and your appointment will be cancelled. So rude and unprofessional that Sabina is trying to enforce her own late policies. She mentioned how her appointments got backed up all day and she had to get home for child care reasons. If you need to cancel your appointments to get home to your kids, thats fine, but don't put it on me saying that I'm late and say you're not doing that anymore. I recommend a different waxer at this location unless you want your appointment cancelled for being a couple minutes late with no heads up.

Not the best customer service. Grace period is 9 min and I…read morewalked in at exactly 9 min mark and the front desk person could see me running to the door mind you. She still wouldn't check me in and let me go to my appt. And I've waited longer than 9 min for my appts sometimes but that's ok? Honestly I wasn't expecting that- and it's not like the next person was even there waiting for her service. It was completely empty. For such a big corporation- such bad service. I do like my wax girl but the front desk is not friendly at all.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experiences with Mari. I have been coming to Mari for…read morebikini waxes for over a year now and would not dream of going to anyone else. Besides being ridiculously nice and delightful, Mari is professional, ALWAYS on time, and reasonably priced. Prior to Mari my bikini waxes were, without exception, painful. I seriously do not know how she does it but I am able to carry on a conversation or check email and never flinch once. I kid you not - not only is there no pain but there is no measure of even the slightest discomfort. She is located just a few doors down from Ellyn's Tap in the Sola Salon space.

Not only that, but the number of salons is surprisingly small! I was on my way to Chicago for the weekend with a quick stop at a friend's in Wheaton... And I couldn't get a waxing appointment in Indy! I did a little research on Yelp and called The Wax Effect, being pretty sure that i wouldn't be able to get an appointment. To my surprise, Marilu made some time for me after her normal Saturday closing time. And to my delight, she did a great job! I have been getting Brazilians since 1997 when I started going to J Sisters in NYC, and I think that this was one of the most thorough and painless waxing jobs I have ever had. It was such a great surprise! My only regret is that I am not local enough to be a regular.

Um, ok, why haven't I reviewed this place? I first came to Waxing the City when Yelp had an event…read morethere. Then I started getting my eyebrows waxed here a few years ago and I never looked back. Long gone are the days of getting my eyebrows threaded and basically leaving crying, or hard wax ripping my skin off every time. These ladies take their time and know what they are doing. I like going to Gabi, Justina or Cori, I've never had a bad experience with either of them. I've recommended this place to a few of my friends and none have complained.

I have been going to the Oak Brook Terrace Waxing the City location since it opened. Over the past…read moreyear or so, I've noticed a general decline in the overall experience, but I continued going because the location is convenient when I'm already in the area running errands. After what happened today, however, I will not be returning. I came in today, September 30, around 10:20 a.m. in the pouring rain for a simple lip wax. I apologized for being 7 minutes late. The front desk employee immediately told me, "I'll take you this time, but next time I won't." I said I understood, but mentioned that I thought there was a 10-minute grace period. She corrected me and said it was actually 7 minutes. I pointed out that I was, apparently, still within that window. Her response was visibly irritated. Then she asked me to complete a customer profile form. I explained that I had been there within the past few months and asked whether I really needed to complete the entire form again. Her response was essentially, yes, this is what you have to do, which I found odd, but I started filling it out. I then said I needed to use the restroom quickly and would finish the form when I came back. This is where the interaction became completely bizarre. She told me, "We don't need to wax you today." I honestly didn't understand what she meant and asked her to clarify. She then indicated that I didn't need to fill out the form and didn't need to get waxed there today, in a tone that felt like she was refusing to provide the service. She also mumbled something under her breath that I found derogatory. At that point, I said, "What is your problem?" I explained that I had a pedicure appointment immediately afterward anyway and would simply have the service done elsewhere. I then asked for her name because I intended to contact corporate about the interaction. Instead of simply giving me her name or allowing me to leave, she told me I needed to leave and picked up the phone and said "I'm just going to call the police." Yes -- over a customer asking for the employee's name after an uncomfortable interaction about a lip wax. I remained at the front desk and told her that I thought the response was completely extreme and that I would be contacting corporate from my car. I left, contacted corporate, and also contacted the local non-emergency police line to document what had happened. I was told they would conduct a wellness check at the business. I am still genuinely confused about how a routine waxing appointment escalated into this. I have been a customer of this location for years, and I have watched the experience decline, but today's interaction was on an entirely different level. There was no reason for the interaction to become hostile, and certainly no reason for a routine customer-service issue to escalate to the point of possible police involvement. I would strongly recommend going to the Elmhurst Waxing the City location instead. At this point, the convenience of Oak Brook Terrace is not worth the headache. Management/corporate: I sincerely hope this interaction is reviewed, including what happened at the front desk and why a customer who was simply trying to clarify the situation was treated this way. What should have been a five-minute lip wax turned into me leaving in the rain, without the service, after having to make two separate calls to report what happened. Absolutely bizarre.
