Let me begin by saying this is the first yelp review I have ever done. I'm doing it because I tried finding reviews on this place before I made my appointment and there were none so I hope this is helpful to many of you looking for a wax in Duluth! I have been to numerous salons in town for a bikini/Brazilian wax but I ended up always having a horrible experience and ended up going to the cities for them. I was SUPER hesitant to try Waxing The City for this reason, and when I initially wanted to make an appointment I definitely wanted their "level 3" waxer. However, there were none available and the owner (who answered my call) convinced me to try Andi who was a level 1. IT WAS GREAT! It ended up being the best bikin wax I have ever had. The wax they use, which is made just for them, is a hard wax but softer than I have been given in the past. It wasn't "pain free", but it wasn't as painful of the waxes I've gotten in the past. My only negative is that the room is very bright. The place I used to go was a dark so I felt less exposed, but I guess they can see everything when all the lights are on... You also get 50% off your first visit so in the end I ended up paying $17 for a bikini wax. Not bad right?! I will definitely be back and look forward to trying their other services. I can't say enough great things about this place! One of my roommates told me about how great her experience was at Waxing the City in Duluth, so I decided to give it a try. The staff greeted me the moment I walked through the door. Andi, who take care of me for my appointment, was awesome! I had never had any experience with waxing before, so she explained the whole procedure in full and made sure I was comfortable. Once we got started, she talked to me the whole time. We were laughing so much that before I knew it, I was done. I got 50% off that first appointment, and then 20% off my next. I can't wait to go back! I got my first Brazilian today from Grace- she was amazing! Super kind and kept a good conversation with me. Even though I was really nervous and showed up late (I miss read the time my appointment was) she was really nice and kept me relaxed through the whole process. The room was nice and very clean! Today was my first time visiting Waxing the City. When I walked in the door my first impression was how clean the shop was and how friendly the employees were. My attendant was Jamie and from the very beginning she made me feel comfortable. All thru the service I had, Jamie was very interested in the conversations we had. I was nervous about my first wax. As soon as I walked in, I was warmly greeted and checked in. My appointment was able to start a few minutes early. My Cerologist, Grace was professional and explained the whole process to me. We chatted throughout the entire appointment and before I knew it, we were done! When I enter Waxing the City the atmosphere always feels very tense and uncomfortable between the staff. But my girl Kadie is always happy to see her clients and will make you feel welcomed and comfortable immediately once you get in her room. I'm sure the other waxers do a great job but if you're trying to find a truly wonderful wax tech in Duluth, Kadie is the girl to see, hands down. read more

Been going here for 9 months now and I have been super impressed with each visit. Staff is so friendly, customer service is fantastic, and the services are completed to the highest quality.
