Fantastic sams is usually my go-to chain salon when I need to get rid of unhealthy ends. The one in…read moremy hometown is very warm and pleasant. This one was a disappointment. There was almost no small talk, they very clearly just wanted to get me in and out. They did manage to fit me in reasonably fast, just a 25 minute wait for a walk in. I killed time looking at a store next door. The cost of my cut was about $17, which considering the product might have actually been too much. I asked to have about 3 or 4 inches taken off so my hair would rest at my collar bone. I also asked to have my layers cleaned up. The stylist didn't bother to wash my hair, which is half of the reason I go to fantastic sams. All stylists in the past either cut your hair wet, or dry after washing and drying your hair for you. She cut my hair straight across and lifted my hair up to give random, choppy chunks that were supposed to be my 'layers'. They were very uneven. Some parts of my layers were drastically different in length. She only put 2 layers on one part of my head and 3 on other parts. She also didn't bother to properly feather/blend them in. I gently tried to express that the layers looked wrong but she said dismissed my concerns. She claimed my hair looked a little off because my color was faded, but I've been getting layers in my hair for about 14 years. I know how my hair should look. I was too socially anxious to outright say it was bad. It looked almost as bad as when I tried to cut my own bangs in middle school. I drove home, trying not to cry. My roommates noticed I was upset, and when I showed them my hair they agreed with all of my complaints. A friend of mine spent almost 2 hours fixing my hair for me. She managed to make it cute, and even though it's shorter than what I wanted I like what my friend did. My hair is now a little past my jaw instead of at my collar bone. Maybe I should have been more aggressive in my complaint, but that's just not the type of person I am. I don't think I'll come back to this location, even if money is tight. I feel bad leaving a one star so the cost and short waiting time give it a two.

The manager at burning tree plaza cut my hair which was past my shoulders. I asked for the dead…read moreends cut , and it to be thinned out. She said it was uneven and she would even it out but all she did is pull my hair to my back and cut it straight across. Its blunt cut and one side is way shorter then the other with choppy ends. It looks ridiculous. She didnt pay attention while she was cutting my hair and kept walking over to talk to someones she knew that came in making a appointment for his son and then talking to the other girls cutting hair about how she knew him an the son , instead of finishing my hair. I had to ask if she thinned it and she said no qhere was i supposed to thin it? Then proceeded to thin one chunk at the top and call it good. My hair is chopped and uneven . I called the next morning and talked to the mangaer who had cut it. She was no help and told me how my hair now looked and that it wasnt the way i explained. Its on my head im pretty sure i wouldnt be calling to tell her hello!?

Two of my nails had bubbles in them. I made her fix one of them, which she did with no attitude. She was very sweet. The guy who did my pedicure was also very sweet. Both very nice kids, which is actually the only reason I gave two stars instead of one. My pedicure was slightly better than my manicure, just because he didn't file my toenails, so they didn't have the chance to be as ragged as the nails on my hands. Crooked French tips again. There was a foot and leg massage involved in the whole thing. He used some aveda lotion I think, and it left my legs and feet very greasy. By the next day, the paint on my nails was already chipping. They used tons of different products...I don't know what all. All kinds of primers and stuff. For nothing. It was all just to give you a "spa" experience, and the end result that I came there for (painted nails) was totally shoddy. $24 for manicure, I don't know how much the pedicure was. Boooooo! Terrible job! They're really nice kids, and they put effort into it, but I think they just don't know what they're doing. Terrible manicure. Terrible, I say!

"Fiery & Fierce at Colour Lounge!"…read more Okay, listen up, because I've just been through the ultimate hair transformation at Colour Lounge, and if you're thinking about going black and red, you need to read this. Imagine taking Wednesday Addams, tossing her in a blender with Jessica Rabbit, and pouring that gorgeous, badass mixture straight onto my head. The result? Absolute fire. My hairdresser didn't just slap some dye on my head and call it a day. Oh no. This was ART. They took one look at me, saw I was ready to embrace my inner rockstar (or villain--depends on the day, honestly), and turned my wild vision into a reality. They nailed the perfect inky black and deep, sizzling red combo that had me questioning whether I was too hot to be seen in public. We're talking layers of red and black woven together so seamlessly that people might think my hair's literally on fire when I walk by. Subtle? No. Glorious? Absolutely. And the whole experience? Let's just say my hairdresser has the patience of a saint and the sass of a drag queen--they knew exactly how to keep me laughing while wielding enough foil to power a small satellite. If you're looking for someone who knows their way around black-and-red hair like a pro and who'll treat you like royalty (while dishing out some A+ life advice), book here immediately. In short: I came in looking for a change, and I left feeling like a walking goddess of fire and darkness.
