12/2/23 If Return Of The Mack was a big hit in 1996, then the return to Wax Me Baby should be too. Well I ended seeing Lisseth today at 3:50pm.  My original time should have been at 12pm, but work just got in the way. Lisseth ended up being my technician for the day.  I found out that Jocelyn R  only services females.  This would have been nice to see on the website so I wouldn't have wasted my time choosing her. Upon  entering Wax Me Baby, I was greeted by Lisseth.  Lisseth give off a cool vibe, but she was feeling a bit under the weather.   Since both of us were wearing masks, we both got down to business much quicker. Once undressed, I climbed onto the table using the little black towel to cover up...it wasn't necessary since  my lower anatomy was going to  be worked on.  Lisseth powdered up The Male Bikini Tight area and thighs. The feeling of the warm green Wax on my legs felt great.  Lisseth  proceeded to apply long lengths of wax to the areas that needed hair removal.    Lisseth wasn't really up for chitchat  and as she worked, her demeanor seemed to darken much like the ambience in the room.  It felt like it to me. Anyhow,  Lisseth  must be thinking of the game Need For Speed, because she was definitely going the distance on removing body hair.  Lisseth was going for speed. And I paid my dues. Time after time. Hair was left on my body. This is a serious crime.   The rush job I recieved wasn't to be admired.    If I hadn't  had a family emergency during my waxing, I would have caught the numerous patches of hair Lisseth missed. Granted Lisseth had back to back appointments with other clients, but upon looking at all the hair  that was missed, it's amateur hour at best.   Things just felt very different at Wax Me Baby this time around.  I doubt this review is going to win me any favors either...yet "it is not possible to accomplish something worthwhile without adverse effects elsewhere."   Since I said that, my review on this business  is the only worthwhile thing I got out of this experience.   I won't give this experience a total bust.  Lisseth  did do an excellent job at the clean up of leftover wax and this speaks volumes.  I overheard Lisseth greet another client as I was getting dressed.  From what I heard, the warmth in Lisseth's voice was much warmer than that what I received. Like she wasn't faking being polite.  I take this with a grain of salt.  Hopefully I am wrong. Once again, if I hadn't been in a rush to get home for a family emergency, I would have caught the missed patches of hair. If I had seen the missed patches of hair, things could have been different.   As it is, only annoyance is what I am feeling along with the tip I gave Lisseth.   This was round 2.  I am not sure if there will be a round three.  According to DMX "Won't be a strike three, 'cause I don't play fair I'ma look you in your eye while he hit you from the rear."   And so I guess I'm outta here for good. 3.8/5 Got a Groupon for my visit. Haven't had a wax in a while so I was super nervous. My waxer, Jada was nice but she didn't hold much of a conversation or explain aftercare. There were a few pieces of hair left but I didn't mind that too much. The hard wax definitely hurts more than sugar waxing. I forgot about the pain! Once you enter, they bring you to the studio room that had a bed with a small towel. Full transparency, the place didn't really seem "clean" the old towels were just thrown into a bin and was hanging out of the bin (yuck) and my finger touched something wet on the side of the bed as I was getting on. I'm hoping this was just a one time situation but I'd pay more attention to the appearance of the salon to make clients feel safe since we all come here vulnerable! read more

I showed up for my appointment, and no one was there. I tried calling and texting, but I wasn't able to get in touch with them. I am now trying to schedule an appointment to use a wax from a package I bought, but I still can't get in touch with them. If they have closed, I really hope they refund me for any unused waxes from my prepaid package. read more

I hate to give this business 3 stars because it is beautiful, clean, and the woman who did my wax Nellie was very sweet . So I generally will get a Brazilian wax a few times during the summer for hygiene and wearing bikinis . Of course when you're getting a service like this, you need to find a place you can trust . I was searching different businesses and this one came up and advertised that they have Groupon deals . I thought this would be great so I could try them out without paying their full price just in case it didn't turn out good. I was really excited and I purchased the Groupon option for a Brazilian sugar for $45. When I made the appointment, it had a section for notes . I wrote in the note that I would be using a Groupon . Let me say I'm not the type to use Groupon because I feel bad not paying their full price but I guess it works out because it hopefully gets a business new clients . I brought $20 in cash for a tip . My disappointment is that when checking out, she asked me to pay via Venmo or zelle . I explained that I purchased a Groupon and she told me that they didn't accept them and it was a mistake the owner made . This put me in a weird awkward position . She did say she wouldn't charge me the full $65 and instead would charge me $50 but if you consider I already spent $45 on a Groupon, it's comes to $95. She told me I can easily get a refund from Groupon. I gave her the tip and scheduled my next appointment. I tried to cancel my groupon order and they stated because three days had passed I could not get a refund :/ which sucks because I did purchase the groupon last week and wasn't able to come for an appointment until today . A groupon rep reached out to me and stated that this shouldn't have happened and that this business did in fact sign up to do groupon. If you google them, when their business pops up it even talks about groupon deals . I totally understand that maybe they lose money by offering a Groupon deal and if that's the case then you ladies deserve to get paid the full price . I think a business offers the Groupons because they want to attract new clientele which is a great idea . Maybe you lose some money first session but if you do a great job , then you gain a regular client and end up making more money . If they didn't want to participate then don't offer the Groupon. I also see a lot of other talk about this business accepting Groupons so it makes me feel like something shady happened . I don't know but I'll be canceling my follow up appointment and look elsewhere because I need to be able to trust someone I am giving my business to. read more

I made an appointment for 5 PM on a Friday afternoon with heavy traffic and extreme heat. Ironically they asked me for my credit card information because they have a cancellation policy. I got there 10 min earlier and stayed until 5:10. The door was locked, business was closed and they had a sign on the door that said "Out for lunch". I left them numerous voice messages and no one answered. This is not a serious establishment. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

Charmaine is truly an expert at what she does. Being waxed has caused me so much pain in the past that I was close to giving up. My previous experience was pretty stellar at Wax Me Baby. But this time, the communication was ridiculously bad. I made an appointment online for 10:20am on a Saturday. The Friday night before I received an email that my appointment was cancelled (certainly not by me). Then I get an email Saturday morning that I had an appointment for 10am! So I hurried to get ready and guess what... I get to the place and no one is there. So I call the phone number and it's a recorded message. I have no tattoos and I do not like pain. I decided to get a Brazilian wax because what the heck, I'm an adult and it's hot out. I am not going to lie and say that it did not hurt but Terri has a wonderful technique. It is more of a quick sting and then it's over. I also thought I would feel very uncomfortable being nude with a stranger but I did not. We were actually having a casual conversation about life and before you know it....it was over. The whole process took maybe 20 minutes.   Her studio is in what looks to be an office building but there is always plenty of parking. I appreciate this as opposed to strip malls where I have to stress about where to park. I love the ambiance here....it is very spa like. I was greeted with delicious scents, modern décor, and welcoming lighting. It was also very clean. I have been twice now and each time there was no one else there. It feels very personal when there isn't a waiting room full of people and kids. It literally feels like I'm meeting a friend to get waxed. Found out about this from a friend! All three of us bought the Groupon deal and used the student discount so I ended up paying $22.5 total. We made an appointment and came in around noon. It's located in the Mosby building on the fourth floor and when we came in it was very clean, bright and had a fancy white aesthetic. We waited on the nice couch while she was finishing up with another client. We filled out the form and off my friend went into the room. Everything was done REALLY fast. She's very efficient. Each of us only took about 15 minutes. For me, my results were great! She really did a good job getting every last hair. The pain was there but it really wasn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. The reason for the stars off was that my friend who went before me was pretty unsatisfied with hers. She said that she still had quite a couple hairs left and went home to shave again. Also, it was all of our first times and we got the vibe that she was annoyed with all of the giggling and nervousness. We look young, but we're all adults here and it seemed like she thought we were just a bunch of giggling tweens. She's definitely polite, but I didn't get the overly warm and friendly vibe that all the other reviews are raving about. Overall, I don't think I'll be going back?? I'm satisfied with my treatment, but didn't feel really as welcomed as I was expecting from reading the reviews. Definitely try it out though and take advantage of the great deals she has. read more

I really wanted to support a small black woman business but OMG!Terry is NOT friendly or warm at all. It's very unprofessional and unwelcoming to speak to new clients in condescending tone and rolling eyes when speaking to them. 3 stars off for her unprofessionalism. If you're looking for a quick in and out and don't care for a warm customer then give her a try since she runs a Groupon deal for new clients...I didn't realize that until I went in for my appointment. I had some hair left that she said it was too short to wax. My former waxing lady was able to get everything off. It's unlikely that I will return to this business again. read more

There was someone here that i questioned in terms of thoroughness as last time i came here it literally took 5 min and the lady did a bad job, BUT when i saw they offered sugaring with a new person i decided to try again since it's so close. I was able to book right after I found this place even though it was 7:30 am lol, some sites don't let you book until the business is open but I love that I can book any time. What a delightful waxing experience! I had my service done by a young woman named Terry. She talked me through the process especially because I was so nervous. The setting was nice and the music distracted me. I can confidently say that nothing really hurt (I did full body). Her technique is very gentle and faster than planned. I bought a Groupon for my Brazilian wax and I just want to commend on how the appointment process was very easy. Their website listed services they provide, pricing, and also your choice of who you want to wax you. You receive a confirmation email and there's a questionnaire that you fill out upon checking in. I met with Charmaine and was impressed with her technique and making sure the wax was at a comfortable temp for me to tolerate. Also, I'd like to add great conversation while waxing! She did an awesome job and also cleaned my brows up. I usually get them threaded, and Charmaine did magic to make my brows less... severe of an arch(?) I was a little skeptical at first although I've been getting wax before, only cuz I was 8 months pregnant but Terry was very good and friendly. Her clinic is nice, modern and very clean, which is very important for a wax clinic as hygiene should be the top priority. I actually used to go to this same building for a sugaring however, that other place although the service was good, the cleanliness of the area and method were a little bit questionable.
