Seems this is the worst of the locations .. more than once I've gotten food faith mistakes or flimsy hoagie lightly packed or just wrong orders! Yesterday I had a friend coming my coffee machine broke & ordered from Postmates 2 lg coffees no sugar light crème .. what I got was cold plus I thought was a milkshake or dang egg nog!!! A breakfast sandwich was cold soggy too much bulk pepper little egg! This place is the pits.. really downhill low class joint!!! I will NoT order again & Postmates so cheap they would not refund or discount for crappy order!!! Everybody likes Wawa Get almost anything in there and the food is pretty good Not to mention your coffee is great

Stopped at this Wawa on our road trip and got a biscuit and some other items. My biscuit was the best Wawa biscuit I've ever had it was so fluffy and had eggs overflowing out of it. Was disappointed that my coffee wasn't good as my local Wawa though. But the biscuit made up for it. read more

Wawa you don't deserve the 1star. But tonight you earned it due to two Philadelphia cops being disrespectful. I as a lady opened the door for them. Didn't even say thank you. ODD right?! They walked behind the coffee counter, didn't wash their hands nor did they speak to the young lady refilling the coffee containers. This is the second time I've seen these same two cops. Get rid of them two, switch them out or get your own security. Going to the Sixers game 2-3 times a week, I always stop for a quick coffee. NOT anymore. The state of Delaware would never let them get away with treating the community that feeds them lowly. They have all the standard items that you can find it any other Wawa however it's at twice the time. The quality is the same, the service is very slow and it can be a bit dangerous getting into the parking lot. But if you're coming from Center City and you're looking to get on 95 it is a great segue to getting home and a hoagie to get on the road. I understand there are some needy people in the world however the panhandlers out front of this Wawa appear to be a dangerous looking and very aggressive. It's convenient because it is on Columbus blvd. The sweet stuffed pretzel is a nice treat for snack. The pretzel is crunchy and warm, not salty and has a creamy melt in your mouth fillings. The cream isn't too sweet at all. read more

This is an old-style Wawa. The layout isn't as sexy as the new Wawas. It also gets packed at lunch time. But the employees stay on the ball, so I've always been able to get in and out quickly enough despite the crowds. It's true that the parking lot is kind of a mess... Poorly paved, poorly laid out, and filled with a mix of beggars and strip club patrons (those categories overlap). But, then, it's surrounded on two sides by poorly paved streets with no parking and it's next door to a strip club, so that's just a hazard of the location, and I've never felt unsafe there. read more

Not only one of my favorite places for 24 hr. convenience of personal late-night needs but for the charm and characters it brings in. You could write a novel of ideas if you just stood in a corner and observe the usual customers that stumble in and out, day and night (By stumble I mean their high. Hint. Hint.) . From the ever youthful thugs here for their weekend fun from the movie theatre down the street, to a group of sleevy dudes getting their pants wet over at the "Gentlemen's Club" literally right across the street, and lastly mumbling middle-aged men and women fixing their coffee and complaining about their failed attempts of parenting, home life, etc. Like I said, this is solid gold! It's a busy location so can't complain about that much, but some of the employees that prepare the food with mask under their bottom lip is very concerning. The fact that they have the thin blue mask and can't keep them up is bothering. When I say every time I order I have to ask them to cover their nose because they are having full blown conversation over everyone's food. This is the worst wawa I have ever been to in all time especially tonight. Some guy with glasses made my sandwich and after I politely asked him how it is because I had a Uber waiting he said "what does that mean to me?" With attitude three time like he was going to shoot me if I gave him a bad answer. He even reached at his waist multiple times. He was African American with glasses at 12:30pm: it's crazy how he acted to me because I am also African American and he started to antagonize me. Was blown away by the kindness and patience of the Wawa employees. It was my first time using the mobile app to pick up an order and did not know if I applied a promotion correctly. A kind female employee (forgot to get her name, she might have been a supervisor or lead) helped me with it, helped me put the order in again so the promotion could be applied, and even made one of the coffee orders for me. I actually really like this wawa. It is a fairly spacious location (though obviously not as big as the one by independence hall or on broad street). But super convenient (especially during covid) if you want to "Drive" to a wawa while in center city Philly. There is always ample parking and you can even get gas there! read more

This is the closest Wawa to me. I never had any major issues here. The line goes by pretty fast and I enjoy the multiple ATMs here. The customer service is always fine and the place is never dirty. I don't like the coffee at any Wawa but the food here is pretty good. The parking lot is a plus and usually easy to park. Theirs a nearby gas station and car wash to stop at if you have time. Their are the times I see panhandling at this location but it doesn't bother me. This location is right off I-95 which makes it a go to spot. They never run out of anything when I'm in there and the food doesn't take long to be prepared. I think during busy hours they have about three employees at the register to make the line go a little bit smoother. This place is a solid Wawa and if your nearby come check it out for sure. Much like the rest of South Philly, this Wawa occasionally smells of sewage leak and very rarely will actually have a sewage leak inside the actual store. Yum! However, it's still a Wawa. Though, don't look anyone directly into the eye after 3am here. No bathroom, no gas, favorite deli items often unavailable, cheap cigarettes, people watching galore. When we walked in, we wanted to grab a few quick sandwiches and get right back out, however the line was wrapped around the store. I groaned internally, but ordered my sandwich and jumped in line. I was AMAZED at how quickly the cashiers knocked that line down to nothing. Not only were they quick, but the cashiers were all very friendly, which is a rarity these days. Our food was prepared in lightning speed as well, and we were out the door in under 5 minutes. My sister, who now lives in Charlotte and was up visiting, was very happy to have her Wawa fix. read more

People hate this WaWa and I'm really not sure why. Yes, the clientele is interesting. Plenty of homeless people hang around here and it's often crowded, as it's the only WaWa in South Philly. But there's a cop either in the store or hanging outside almost every time I've ever been here, so I'm not sure what the big deal is. You live in the city ... get over yourselves. Seriously, though, this place is pretty well-run. Two key points below: 1) The morning rush is well-handled. All coffee flavors are well-stocked, there's plenty of people making hot food, and a lot of registers open. Even at its most crowded, it never takes me more than 5-10 minutes to get in and out of here on a weekday. 2) The sandwich staff here is the GOAT. I literally come in here every few weeks and order a sandwich with just about everything they have in the store on it. They never forget a single thing, and somehow manage to give me a well-balanced, wield-able hoagie. It's pretty incredible. read more

It's one of the surviving stand-alone WaWa's. I feel like they are all being replaced by the super-Wawa's with gas stations. After visiting the new wawa's it lowers the rating of this one. It's simply not as big, doesn't have bathrooms, selection isnt as large, and checkout lines get longer than the new ones. I'm actually surprised that Wawa hasnt bought out the gas station that shares the same parking lot, or opened a super-wawa along colombus somewhere else. Either way, its a Wawa. I"m always going to this Wawa. It's ok, but the people that sit outside are horrible. One time, I saw a cop litter his Wawa trash out of his window into the Wawa parking lot. I asked him to throw his trash in a trash can, and he ignored me then rolled up his window. So I picked up his trash off the street for him and put it into the proper receptacle. Wawa, sometimes you really skeeve me, but I still love you. No matter what time, day or night, I can get a moist pretzel and a coffee. Sometimes I can even buy eggs-milk-and bread. I love this Wawa. Having grown up in South Jersey and being accustomed to the super Wawa's there I was a bit apprehensive about visiting the South Philly location. Anytime of the day or night I visit I am happy about the service I receive. 9 times out of ten the staff is friendly and helpful. They also have a heavy police presence late at night when I make my cigarette and hoagie runs. Tonight after working a double I stopped in for a hot dog and ended up trying there quesodilla (sp?) This Wawa is always busy. The lines to the register are usually quick, and the store is fairly clean. Being able to find parking can be hard, they share the lot. If your ordering something, it's a hit or miss. Sometimes they put a lot of toppings on, sometimes they don't. Sometimes the bread is over toasted, sometimes it's not. this is my local! city wawa's are going the way of the dinosaur these days, but hopefully they let this one be. my only complaint is the layout of the cash registers. at 6 am with the tired surly construction workers, you go up to the shortest line and wait your turn. on the weekend when tweens and crotchety retired old farts are there they form one line and wait for the cashiers to call them up like its the god-forsaken bank. you can tell the cashiers are annoyed. god i hate old people. read more

Top reason to go to WaWa? Free ATM! As a convenience store WaWa is convenient. Logical locations, good stuff at predictably high prices but better than any 7/11 anytime. But the free ATM at a time when a charge per transaction is traveling north to the $3.00 level, you gotta love WaWa. When the banks rolled out their automated banking system in the late seventies, their PR told us, hey low maintenance machines, no human salary`, its free, our gift to you because we care so much. Ah, but they bided their time. Give the grunts time to weave the convenience of our little machines into their daily routine. Make the convenience so attractive that after a time they wont be able to do without it. When the first 25. cent charge went in, nobody blinked, hey they're entitled.
