This place was fantastic. I love the atmosphere of the cool little neighborhood breakfast spot…read more Right on the corner, like the proletariat bars of old. The four of us found the Dutch on Yelp, and headed there from our hotel in Philly. It reminded my wife and I of some of the neighborhood spots. We enjoyed so much in our own town of Baltimore. The waitress, JENN, was fantastic. I think she had every table, but every employee were doing their part. The chef must handpick the ingredients, because everything was fresh and delicious. My wife and I each had a special pressed fruit drink to start, and it was a perfect appetizer if you will. Very refreshing and energizing. The food was amazing. I had the mushroom omelette. The mushrooms were very fresh and not overcooked. The omelette was thick, but not foamy. All of the ingredients were handled with care on the inside. The taste of truffles was a nice addition. My wife had the salmon omelette, and it was out of this world. Possibly the best omelette I've ever tasted. She agreed. Delicate, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. One of our boys had a huge waffle covered in fresh berries, and just the right amount of whipped cream. He said it was the best waffle he ever had, and I have to agree. Light and fluffy and sweet, he didn't even add syrup. Perfect. Our other son had the double cheeseburger. Again, cooked perfectly, and the avocado was very fresh and an excellent addition. When we are in Philly again, this will be our breakfast spot. An absolute pleasure dining here. I highly recommend.

Looking for somewhere that was a bit different than where we would normally go, and as we were in…read morethe city and craving breakfast this was it. Neither of us really go for sweet breakfast, so despite this place having a plethora of delicious Dutch babies, neither of us went with their signature offering. However, I did manage to find yet another amazing item on the menu that was indeed unique to here and had to have it. A wonderful dish that I still can't properly pronounce... the Uitsmijter. I go nuts for pickles and rye in particular, and I have to say this had some of the tastiest and most unique of both as part of it. The pickles were just amazing. Unlike any I've had before, and I am a pickle maniac coming from a kosher deli family. The rye was also top notch, having such character and density that really made it stand out against everything else on the plate, but especially other rye breads that simply don't come close to what was going on here. The perfectly cooked side of scrapple we opted for was also a major highlight. While I did think the prices were just a bit too steep, a minor problem at best for a great meal, the staff was very nice and took their time to explain to me the things on the menu I didn't understand. They also invited us in on a very cold day and made us feel like home. If I am every around the same area and craving some great cold weather breakfast, I will definitely be back to try the ring bologna Benedict because there is nothing quite like Amish bologna, and each town's is a bit different. Quite the experience!

Okay, hear me out and listen to the entire review:…read more TL;DR VERY EXPENSIVE We came here for our anniversary because reviews were wonderful and the menu looked very European i.e. smaller plates with big flavors and delicious cocktails. Our order, pre-meditated was for oysters, octopus, and the 'plateau du marche' aka cheese and meat plate. All sounds good, right? The oysters were WAY too small for $21 (6 in total), the octopus was cut up into small pieces equaling about 1/2 a tentacle but they filled the plate with a few pieces of sausage and potatoes to make it look like the plate was full. It was not. Plus the sauce it comes with was way too acidic. The cheese an meat plate costing $26 has only a few slices of meat, 4 slices of old crusty bread, a few crumbles of cubed cheese, and very very very small pitted olives. Honestly, it was embarrassing. We had to end up ordering their happy hour breads which were fine but after dropping a pretty penny we shouldn't have to order MORE food... As far as the drinks go, I just don't understand the justification in charging $16 for a N/A drink... I ended up sending it back because after one sip on my part and another on my bartender husband's part we both agreed that it was repulsive. And I never send drinks back. Service, lovely and attentive Atmosphere 100% inviting and the view of the fountain made it all magical Drinks WAY too expensive Food WAY too small and incredibly overpriced Flavors - fine but definitely not worth the price tag All in all we went for a few cocktails and something to munch on and left with a $200 bill. No leftovers. A great date night spot if you're looking to drop a dime and a half to impress your mate but honestly, I was extremely disappointed. We left hungry, sober, and confused as to where our money went.

The raclette sandwich was a decadent grilled cheese. I got a cassis and Perrier drink that was refreshing. My spouse got a pastis cocktail and loved it. I love everything about this: casual bar with great drinks and delicious snacks. You can eat a full meal or just graze. The market has great food to go. If I lived closer I'd be a regular.

Milk Jawn - Earl grey with honeycomb. Delicious!!

The service…read morewas amazing from the start, they let us sample a bunch of flavors and honestly every single one was so good that it made choosing stressful in the best way possible. I ended up getting the Playoff Party flavor, which I believe is only offered when one of the Philly teams is in the playoffs, and it was basically an Oreo ice cream lover's dream. The Earl Grey Honeycomb was also SO good. You could actually taste the Earl Grey tea flavor clearly, and the honeycomb balanced it perfectly without overpowering it. One thing I really liked about their ice cream in general was the texture because it had that perfect consistency where it's firm and dense but still soft. It's definitely on the pricier side though. Our total came out to around $15-16 for two single scoops, with one being in a waffle cone. I also wanted a waffle cone on the side, so they gave my single scoop in a larger bowl instead which I thought was really considerate. However, the waffle cone is on the thicker side so it's not as crispy. That said, for the price you are getting noticeably larger scoops, so honestly I still think it's very worth it. Would definitely come back to try more flavors.

I wanted to love the ice cream, but I was not impressed. After trying a few flavors I came to the…read moreconclusion that the consistency was more like ice milk than ice cream. The flavor combos - tahini fudge swirl, pistachio, lemon curd with blueberry basil swirl - sounded great. Unfortunately, the excitement for me was in name only. The tahini fudge was very toasty, but the fudge didn't hold up; pistachio had crunch but lacked the nut's flavor; the lemon curd wasn't tart enough for me, nor did I get much flavor from the blueberries. If you like a less creamy ice cream you'll like the texture. I'll try a vegan option the next time.

No more food which was okay for the visit today. We were waiting for a dinner reservation and wanted to have a few drinks first. Surprisingly Stateside had an open bar and a few open tables. As soon as we walked in the staff started greeting us. In fact the entire time we were there until we walked out the staff was phenomenal. Great personalities, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a few of their mixed drinks and a seltzer before we left. They have a full bar so anything you want is available. My favorite was the Sazerac, I hadn't had any since my time in New Orleans so aside from the rainy cold weather, this transported me back temporarily. The other drinks were good, I think one was called a Rum Smash, but my problem with mixed drinks is when they're good, they go down way too easy. I like to taste a little alcohol. But I won't hold my issues against Stateside. A fun place, a great location and a great staff. I'm happy I came back after they dropped the food, I will return.
