This is a local sandwich spot. Their sandwich's are unique and very tasty I eat there at lease 3x a week. Everyone is so nice and friendly, well worth the trip

I've been here twice now. I've tried a few sandwiches. I'm not usually into vegetarian sandwiches. But I was in the mood for a good eggplant parm sandwich the first time I visited. The Henry is obviously more than that. But the bottom line is this might be one of the most flavorful sandwiches I've had in the city. Every ingredient just zings. That was the 5 star sandwich. The next time I went I brought the family. I went for a chicken parmesan sandwich. My wife went for the chicken cutlet hoagie. My son is a cheesesteak hound so he went for that. Everyone thought it was good. But they also told me that they thought their sandwiches lacked something. My wife thought the chicken cutlet sandwich was good but with all the ingredients she expected more flavor zing to it. She didn't think it had enough. My son thought the cheesesteak was maybe a little too much cheese in proportion to the meat. He gave it a 6.9 out of 10. But he ate most of it. For me, the chicken parmesan sandwich was pretty good. But I think I definitely prefer that Henry.

And to think that I almost skipped this spot. I was looking for a place nearby to get lunch and found this on Yelp. I found a parking spot right out front and considered it a sign that I should give it a try. I ordered a vegetable sandwich (The Henry) and a corned beef hoagie. The Henry was the clear "winner" here, though that doesn't mean my husband didn't stop and say, "man, that was a delicious hoagie" about the corned beef hoagie several times that evening. The Henry has hearty vegetables (zucchini, eggplant, broccoli rabe) and sharp provolone. It's bursting with flavor and is incredibly satisfying. I'd say it's my favorite sandwich in the city right now. The corned beef was sliced just a bit thicker than some other places, which is a big plus in my opinion. Husband loved everything about it: seeded roll, Swiss cheese, all the fixins. I am sure we'll return to try the hot food items soon!

I got my usual Cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms. Dolores' uses sarcone rolls. I usually think Sarcone rolls are too dense for cheesesteaks but this cheesesteak was wrapped for at least 40 minutes and the roll loosened up nicely. I really liked the mushrooms. The meat is not chopped. I am rethinking mushrooms on not chopped cheesesteaks. I liked the roll, meat and mushrooms individually. Together, not so much but I think that is because the mushrooms have nowhere else to go but on top of the meat. I grew up on chopped cheesesteaks and like everything chopped together. Dolores' pizza steak has me curious but I think I am going back for the breakfast sandwiches.

Y'all. I'm telling you. Hear me loud and clear. COME EAT A HOAGIE! I really don't want to tell you much more than that. Follow this restaurant on Instagram for all the latest and greatest specials. The special I had this weekend was the "El Fuego". It is a hoagie that had chicken cutlets coated in Flaming Hot Cheetos. *Alarms go off* Yes, Flaming Hot Cheetos. The hoagie was really well balanced. It was savory, salty, tangy, and just the lightest hint of sweet. There doesn't appear to be a bad hoagie on the list. They are all reasonably priced and this is a mad cute mom and pop. The deli is on the smaller size but they really know how to operate in the space. It's so impressive as the phone rings off the hook.

Instagram, Philly Magazine, and The Inquirer have been buzzing about this corner store so I decided to finally check them out. The chicken cutlet hoagie was very good and on par with Lil' Nicks Deli. Decent roll, fresh vegetables, and large breaded cutlets. I wouldn't put it on the same level as Angelo's of South Philly or Hoagie Dom, but it's understandably hard to compete with such stiff competition. Perhaps if the chicken was juicier, the roll was better, or I got more long hot pepper flavor from the mayo my opinion would be higher. Regardless, it's still a quality hoagie and one I have no hesitation recommending. Bottom Line: A very good hoagie and option if you're craving chicken cutlets and can't get your hands on a Hoagie Dom or Angelo's of South Philly creation. Recommend.

This. Place. Is. Unreal. It's robbery the cutlet hoagie is 9.50. It was my favorite sandwich in the city until I tried their Henry X. You can just tell from the first bite so much prep and time goes into each hoagie (sub for long hot Mayo btw)

This place is a gem. Consistently great quality sandwiches and delicious every time. We've done pickup with no issues . If you're a hot Cheetos fan, the el fuego is a must try. It's a hot Cheetos crusted chicken with a spicy sauce. Not too spicy in my opinion. The Pooh Bear is also a personal favorite. I am not a huge fan of pickles, but the thinly sliced fried pickles on these sandwiches may just convert me.

Ok, onto the eats! 1. Della Casa ($18): A 12-inch soft seeded sando layered with a schmear of balsamic sundried pepper spread, fresh mozz, and hot cappicola dried with Calabrian chili oil and filled with fresh arugula and house roasted eggplant slices. This was good, however, the eggplant felt kind out of place. The slices were large and a little bit too mushy for my liking and it felt like it could have benefitted from an extra meat or contrast to the softness from the mozz, such as fried eggplant instead. All in all a 7 out of 10. Good but wouldn't order again. 2. Turkey Salumeria ($18.50): Another (delicious) 12-inch soft seeded roll saturated with a house creamy balsamic dressing (could have honestly drank this) + mild prov, LTO, sliced turkey and really great cherry pepper relish. This was a pretty basic, but all the parts came together to make a solid sandwich. I wouldn't necessarily order again but the combination of ingredients and the hellish relish made it a 7.5 out of 10. All in all, the quality of the ingredients, the combinations available on the menu and the stellar staff all make LK popular for good reason. While the selections we had this go around didn't wow us (just lacking a certain je ne sais quoi) I do look forward to going back to try the kale chx caesar, some of their cutlet sandos, roast beef and pork and of course the tomato pie and CCC's!
